i came across an issue with mounting of external sdcard in my lg optimus g pro of course after installing a stupid apk file -_- lg g pro recovery. the sd card haven't had any problem. it was the phone.it just shows sd card inserted it wont mount, manual mounting was also kinda disabled. and the only fix was FLASHING .kdz to the phone. but there is an alternate fix for this using lg mobile support tool.
1. Download lg mobile support tool from the link below .
2. install in your pc .open it plug in your phone.
3.it gets detected after that go to the options on the top right corner of the window.
4.You'll see UPGRADE RECOVERY option.
5.click that and follow the instruction.make sure you have internet connection.
your data's are safe .it wont go.but if you arent so sure it will be good to make a back up if you'd like to..
yea and you will have to re-root your phone (if you may have to)as the root will be gone after upgrading the recovery.
here is the download link:- http://lg-support-tool.en.lo4d.com
thanks hope this helps:good:

This is my first post on this forum (figures I'll jump head in when I have a serious issue,ha?)
Ok here goes:
My Issue: HTC Desire is stuck on boot-up screen with Green HTC logo forever.
How it happened: I tried flashing a script using ROM Manager that was supposed to correct some local language settings, over my current rom.
Phone state before action: Worked beautifully using Modaco R8 RC1 ROM. Phone is of course rooted.
Why I can't solve it myself: Well, this is my first serious issue (well, I hope it's not serious, actually!) with phone, which i've had for about a week , so I'm relatively a n00b.
-- I can access Clockworkmod recovery. However, under NANDROID RESTORE there are no files. I have no idea why, because I DID a full nandroid backup before that install. I have a copy of all the IMG files of the last working setup on my windows machine hard drive, and my assumption is that maybe I accidentally moved the files to the hard drive after i did that backup, instead of copying them.
Now -
1) Can I somehow restore the phone to a working state without the nandroid backup, using some other function of the CW Mod recovery?
2) Can I somehow connect the phone via USB to the computer and get it to read the Micro SD card so I could maybe move the IMG files I have back to SD Card (using a mounting option)?
3) Anything else I could try?
If nothing else, please just calm me down if you can and let me know the phone is fixable and not bricked because I can access recovery?! That would at least help me go through the night...
last note: Before I flashed the zip, ROM Manager said my CW Mod version is 2.0.5.7. Within the recovery itself, it says the version is only 2.0.5.1. Don't know why that is , and if it is important.

You could read the SD Card directly with your computer. If you don't already have a microSD/USB reader, they are very cheap and will prove very useful in situations exactly like this one.

You are right! Indeed they are very cheap, but, unfortunately it's going to be a game of patience for me, because it's late evening right now and the shops are closed.
That's why I Was wondering if there's an option to mount SD using HBOOT or Recovery so I could end this ordeal tonight...
Anyway, The fact I could get into CM Recovery means the phone was not permanently damaged, right?
Right, if you can boot into recovery it's a good sign.
I have an N1, not a Desire, but in my CM recovery menu under "partitions menu" there is a "mount USB storage" option. Try that?
Alternately if you own any other phone with a microSD slot that can mount it via USB, it could be your makeshift USB reader.
I have had a similar issue before! What I actually ended up doing was pushing the files using ADB. Its quite easy and I'm sure you can find lots of threads on how to use it. Once the files are pushed to your SD card you can then restore it
FIXED!

Problem solved! And yeah, that's how I ended up doing it.. no micro SD card reader was needed..
I installed HTC Sync for the device drivers... then connected the Desire with the USB cable .. and worked out of the problem using ADB commands..
luckily, the guy whose update I installed that caused the problem has the same ROM as myself, so I installed his framework.jar file , and the machine is fine yet again!
OK- I am not new here.... been away for awhile but. I recently rooted both of my lg optimus g pro e980 from ATT. I followed the directions on a few threads regarding this procedure. I installed twrp 2.6.3.0 and ran the updates that I could. I installed freegee pro as well. After I did this I also installed CWM recovery and made sure I updated it as well. I made a backup as I always have before I factory reset and I saved it to my external sd card.
I downloaded several roms to flash and gapps and a few other things i found that I liked and saved these to my ext sd card. I used astro file manager and root explorer to verify that the files were on the external sd card.
After the backup using cmw recovery I went into twrp. I did a factory reset per the instructions and after the reset I can't see my external SD card. I have tried EVERYTHING. I dug into every folder I could. I tried rebooting and seeing if I can see the external card from my pc. I cannot see it anywhere.
Can someone PLEASE help me out.

I don't understand why you do your backups with CWM, and then you go into TWRP, what recovery do you have currently installed? You can only have one.

I have never used twrp until this phone. I have been out of the loop for about 14 months... changed jobs and started my own company. been too busy. I followed instructions... and it talks about them BOTH being available for use.
The bottom line is I still dont see how the external SD card is not being seen... my backup and my roms are on the external... makes no sense. I can pull the card out and see the roms on my other lg optimus g pro just fine.

I have the same problem.
I used FReeGee to unlock my bootloader and flashed cwm to have my files visible. But still it messes up with my internal SD that it is always set to SDCARD/0. It is so useless and wastes more memories.
IS there something what we need to avoid or fix that issue with the SD`?

Your problem is not related to CWM or FreeGee, the reason why you see SDcard/0 after you flash cm 10.2 or later is because with Jelly Bean 4.2 Android implemented the multi user feature that wasn't present in JB 4.1 that came with the G pro. That is easily solved, just do a search for Aroma File Manager and you can move your files from your SD to the folder /0 and recover your SD card lost space.

If I were you, I would flash the stock .tot file from att using LGflash tools and start over, when using FreeGee you don't have to install both recoveries, just choose one, I use CWM, there is only one recovery partition therefore only one recovery can be installed.

I can see this is dated, but maybe this is of some help. Twrp will not recognize any sd card if is exFAT. It has to be FAT32 if I'm not mistaken. It may just be FAT, but I'm pretty sure it's FAT32.
I have been having this issue, and did a good bit of research. I'm gonna reformat my memory card at some point to check, but it will take a while for me to get my files moved around.
Just thought I'd give you the heads up.

As far as TWRP goes, Madmack's Hacked TWRP is the only one that I've gotten to read my external sd. Both ExFAT and FAT32.

This is a godsend. I was having issues with TWRP recognizing my SDCard and my Windows machine didn't have a problem. I formatted as a FAT32 and worked like a champ. I'm now able to backup my personal data before moving on the better ROMs... Thanks!
Hello..
I just developed a flashable zip to unlock from recovery any android mobile
tested in ONe m8
download antilock. Zip
put it in your sdcard or Microsd
flash
enjoy
Very important warning:Note : If You See The Gesture Pattern Grid Or Password After Restarting, Just Try Anyting
Hope it will help
thank you
:D
hello and thanks a lot for your help . I will try to morow morning and come back to you
not working on samsung
Not working on general mobile discovery and other old phone. I think that this works only with ONE M8
I am trying to use this to bypass a pattern lock on a Samsung Galaxy s6 Active and have been unable to do so. The phone does not have an internal Micro SD slot, so I have tried it with a dual adapter flash drive (micro sd) an On the Go cable to a flash drive, and a micro SD card reader to no avail.
Each of these things shows up on the screen if I am in normal mode, though I can't access them, of course, because it is locked.
However, in Recovery mode, if I select "Apply update from SD card" it says "Couldn't mount / sd card. Installation aborted."
If I select "mount / system" it says "Couldn't mount / sd card. Installation aborted. Mounted system."
What am I doing wrong? Please, if anyone can help me I would be deeply grateful and even happy to pay you.
Is this how you "flash" something?
Desperate... really need the data on my phone and can not do a factory reset.
Thank you!
It's working like a charm on my Note 3 with my flash drive (I used the otg cable) and no root needed. I've been going crazy since I've tried so many ways like Android Device Manager or another zip file. YOU SAVED MY LIFE haha thanks man
I have an LG Optimus Pro E980 with 4.4.2, rooted with towel root.
In an attempt to install TWRP recovery today I lost access to my external sd card. Not sure what I did but earlier today I could view, copy files or delete files to my sd card from my phone or from my computer when hooked with usb and media transfer.
I had a lot of trial and error trying to get a custom recovery installed on my phone and in the process I noticed my sd card quit working.
I have rebooted, removed it, reformatted (from my computer) and still nothing changes. ES File Manager sees it (I think) but when I try to create a folder on the external sd it just says it can't. It works when I put it in another android phone so I don't think the sd card is the problem. I also tried the app on google sdfix that makes kitkat have the settings to write to the sd card. Still didn't fix my problem. It will mount or erase from the settings menu. I don't see a format or unmount option at all.
I would like to flash a new copy of 4.4.2 to my phone but I can't find instructions of how to do this that I understand . I figure this will fix my problem and I was wanting to do a wipe and clean install anyway.
Can someone please advise me? TY
Certain twrp can't access the SD disk. I know this because I have installed twrp 2.8 and I notice immediately that it can't access the external SD disk, as normally be in the directory/storage/sddisk1. Don*t ask me which twrp to use because I don't know. I've heard that some twrp can access the external SD disk and some can't without some modification. Try this one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3144369
Its been modified, so it should work without any problem. BTW, as I have said on your other topic, why are you trying to reinstall the stock KitKat that you already have? If you have issues, a factory reset, as you've already figure out, should take care of thing, unless you've erase system files. Don't take the process of flashing tot files lightly, because if one of many things go wrong, you may wish you have never know how to flash the tot file.

I just responded to your other post.
Hi everybody,
in the last days i had some problems with my LG G4 with wifi and i read that the only way to fix the problem was to root the phone and delete some dhcp files .
So this afternoon i started the root following this guide : http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/orig-development/root-tmo-vzw-intl-variants-soon-root-lg-t3164765
I followed all the points (the only thing i couldn't do is to copy the file system.rooted.H81510c-EU in the root folder in SD card just because i don't have sd external card, so i copied it in the general storage folder.
It all went well til the firmware update. I turned off the phone and restarded in download mode. Now it's about 30 min that it's stuck in the firmware update at 0%... what could i do? do i have to wait or there is some problem?? help pls
come on guys... can someone help me?

have you fixed the problem yet? by the way, where it said to transfer rootedsystem.img to sd card, that meant the root of the phones internal storage - not an external sd card. what exactly is your phone doing right now? are you saying the phone will only boot into download mode?
