Progress Bar that Matches Cell Strength? - Zooper Widget General

I've done some searching but haven't found the answers...
First, how do I make the progress bar match my cell strength? I have two bars strength but cant adjust the spacing and split parameters to match. Right now for this image I have them set at 25 and 19... The Cell Bar is beneath "Wednesday."
Second, how do I make the space side showing no signal (and gray) as an outline, not filled in?
Thanks.

OK I have the Cell Strength figured out. I made these adjustments...
Spacing 15
Split 50
Progress Min/Max 0/212
I can't seem to make the WiFi signal split... What am I doing wrong?
Now I'd just like to have the gray part in outline and not grayed out...

Can you post your cell strength code?
I use ASU for cell and calculate #NCSIG [ASU level]/31 [max ASU value]. I usually make wifi bars the same way. #NWSIG [WiFi signal]/9[Max WiFi level]. I then use the int function multiplied by 100 to truncate to 0-100. I then make my bar a standard 0-100 bar and set my divisions to whatever I need.
I'm not sure how to do the outline part. It would be under advanced parameters. Some way to call wifi state compared to connection or connection strength to set outline width. Not sure if zooper has that function.

It never got off of two bars. So I did some searching and apparently cell strength for my phone doesn't work...

Cell Strength doesn't work at all on your phone?
Dang.
Are you scrapping the bars, then?
I'm trying to research something for you, but if it won't work on your device anyway...

Not in zooper widget. Running verizon, and apparently zooper doesn't read the signal right. It's all a little too complicated for me to take the time to figure it. So until that happens, yeah, they're gone.

[Request] Can I Get Someone To Bump My Icons?

I have made an icon change to a status bar mod and need them moved over a tad to the right. Mod file link at bottom of this post.
THIS IS FOR AOKP M3
What I would like is the 3&4G icons and their arrows moved a tad to the right putting the g over the two smaller signal bars. There are a total of 7 icons in the "res/drawable-xhdpi folder that would need to be bumped over.
stat_sys_data_connected_3g.png
stat_sys_data_connected_4g.png
stat_sys_data_fully_connected_3g.png
stat_sys_data_fully_connected_4.png
---------and the up and download arrows------------
stat_sys_signal_in.png
stat_sys_signal_inout.png
stat_sys_signal_out.png
Here they are as is....... I don't have the means to tap them over. Maybe so the back of the g is lined up with the 1st and 2nd bar split?

Your joking right?
I'm talking about going into the zip file and editing an xtml file and moving the icons over in the program. I have PhotoShop and can do pictures.

The data icons overlay the signal icons, so unless the original author changed things in XMLs, all it would require is editing the images.
OK,
Maybe I need clarification. Refer to the pic below.
The pic below represents three icon files.
The signal bars icon is 48 X 48 wide.
The 4G icon is 48 X 60 wide.
The arrows icon is 48 x 60 wide.
The red vertical line is drawn for illustration purposes.
The signal bars icon is actually one of 10 overlays that display in the same position according to signal strength and has its own position in the status bar apart from the 4G & Arrows icon.
The 4G and Arrows icon is positioned to the left of the signal bars icon and both are 40 x 60 wide.
So in the code the signal bars have a specified position, and the arrows, 3 & 4g icons have a specified position in the code.
I am asking for a person that is familiar with the code to please bump the arrows and 3&4g icons over to the right a tad. The image is drawn on a transparent canvas so it would not interfere with the signal bars unless it was moved over to far so that the 4&g overlapped a signal bar.
This cannot just be a matter of editing an image file. I just want the position where the red vertical lines to be moved to the right between the next two signal bars.
Again, Here is a link to download the mod if someone would be co kind. I hope.

Bump, Edited for clarification.
If this is posted in the wron place to ask for mod help please point me to the right place?

[Q][REQ?] 3G style icon for 4G

Hey Guys,
I've been on ICS for awhile now, but I just switched back to Gingerbread. I must say I do like GB more (for now anyway).
Anyway one thing that really bugs me is the 4G icon on all the Gingerbread ROMs. I am currently running Blazer v4.0 and I was wondering how I could make the 4G icon be more like the 3G icon. By this I mean that instead of having the 4G icon like the WiFi icon, it is just like the 3G icon with the two arrows, much like the 4G icon is on the HTC EVO.
Please let me know if this mod exists (I searched without luck) or if it is possible. I would love to see this.
Thank you in advance.
You could go and edit the framework-res.apk yourself if you're up for that.
Edit: Actually, the 4g icons are in the settings.apk, sorry about that.
If you want I could try and whip out some 4g icons for you if you give me more of an idea of what you'd like. I'd still keep some way to show the signal strength though, as that should be kept and not exactly like the 3g icons that just show activity.
Well you see I live in an area were 4G is really strong so the signal strength doesn't really matter to me
I just like the look of the 3G icons much more with the up and down arrows that light up when they are in use.
I would love to create it myself, but unfortunately I don't have much knowledge when it comes to anything beyond the creation of the icons. I may however try to mess around with the settings apk to see if I could figure it out.
So ya, what I really would like is an icon just like the 3G icon, but that says 4G instead. Sort of like on Verizon phones: http://goo.gl/xOrsa
So I made some icons of how I imagine this to be. If anyone could help me figure out how to use them I would be very grateful.

I'm trying to think because I've only used 4G some in different places that have it not near me, does our phone change the icon when it is in use? Obviously it stops sleeping if it was, but does it flash or anything?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
Actually I just connected to the almost nonexistent 4G at my house that I never use and it seems to stay static.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
Pretty sure it stays the same. I think on of the main issues would be getting the up and down arrows to light up when in use. I guess both arrows could be off when its sleeping and on when its not? I really would like to have it be just like 3G though. I wobder if this may be something that could be developed...

[Q] How to tell what type of reception you are in ?

Hello all,
I have a dumb question, and I have searched google for the question pertaining to ICS, my phone/ROM, and also on my rom's thread here on XDA. It's tricky because the question is not a universally phrased question..
So I have my G2 on tmobile's prepaid plan and want to transition into it for a few weeks while I am still on my postpaid att plan with my fam. Thus I want to watch my G2 to see what the service/cell reception/coverage is around my area. Is it 4G, 3G, 2G?
How can I tell?? I went into the settings for ICS and found how to change the service indicator to numbers or an icon, but that doesnt show what speed (dont want to run around running speedtest, although I guess I could). Is there an app I should add or something that would track my service patterns (thats a cool idea actually)?
Thanks!
PS- I am extremely impressed with the 'outdated' G2 and its smoothness in handling ICS (Thanks dev)
Well one way to distinguish between 2G/3G areas easily is adding the following line to your build.prop (which is in /system/build.prop):
ro.ril.enable.3g.prefix=1
What that does is basically just show a 3G prefix on your stock lockscreen and the pulldown statusbar, when you're in a 3G area.
After you've written that on the build.prop you just have to reboot for it to take effect.
Thanks although that's french to me. I don't what you are talking, sorry I'm a newb. I can root and flash but that's over my head. I did notice if I turn off wifi it shows me an "H" but its quite small so ill try to be more aware going forward.
So it seems the coverage thing is either an "h" or "e" ... its a tmobile phone too

There is an indicator icon (as you mentioned) next to your signal strength on the status bar.
H - HSPA+/4G
3G - 3G
E - Edge/2G
If you're looking for a way to track, over time, how much is spent in a particular service, I don't know of any way to do that. There might be an application out there to keep track of it all.

Thank you. Thats what Im looking for. Problem is its super faint and very hard to see I think. Also it doesnt appear to show when wifi is connected ive noticed.
I like to use a network info app :

}
In my indicator it'll show 3G or H respectively.
setting : ro.ril.enable.3g.prefix=1 will pretty much always show 3G regardless if you got HSDPA going on so that setting is purely cosmetic. i.e.: "adds the 3G prefix to the operator name."
mainly had to make sure the following were set in my build property if using T-Mobile USA using T-Mobile G2 phone with the supporting radio bands:
ro.ril.hsxpa=3 (though there's no documentation to show that anything other than 0/1/2 is supported, I assume if anything higher than 2 is set it'll just default to 2)
ro.ril.hsdpa.category=10 (for ~14mbit/sec download)
ro.ril.hsupa.category=6 (for ~5mbit/sec upload)
HSDPA+ would be the 14mbit/sec, speed where as HSDPA would be the 7.2mbit as shown in my screenshot, I don't have too many areas in town where I actually see the H+ show up.
That looks great- exactly what I am looking for. I will check it out.

[Q] Why do I lose Mobile Network signal while I am sleeping

You didn't. Go down to cell standby and it will say how much time you were without signal if any.. Same thing happens with me but I never lose signal, when you lose signal it will show red

Time without signal shows 0% - which is good.
but I am losing mobile network signal shown by the large black empty area

Like I said its not lost.. Or do you mean just the info that is displayed? I think it's KitKat, it happens to me in every ROM, even stock.. I don't remember if it also happens with cm/aosp or GE

So you're saying it is displaying wrong information. I actually am still receiving LTE data connection?
Yes.. I still get calls, texts, and notifications when my screen is off even though signal display is blank
When it goes black like that doesn't mean you lost data. Means data wasn't in use (meaning no in an out data) and wasn't consuming your battery.
Notice the screen on is black too? Means that the screen wasn't on consuming your battery.

Progress bar question

Is it possible to have 1 clean break in a progress bar?
Basically at the point on the bat at which the value reaches?
Thanks
No one can help?
Surely its achievable! Zooper is so powerful!
Could you be a little clearer on what you are asking? Do you mean you want a break at the end of the bar like a marker? or at a specific point?
I'd like a break in the bar at a specific point.
Namely at the value point of the progress bar.
So lets say the bar min = 0 and max = 2000.
The current value is 500.
I'd like a break at the 500 point. But for the break to move with the value.
So when the value hits 700, there is a break.
I'm talking of a very small break.
Also I'd like to have the bar turn red at a certain point. Say 1500?
I don't believe you can achieve that with a progressbar. You would be better off using rectangles and code functions to control the colour of the bar and position of the break line. I can work out and post the relevant code later if you need, but I don't have my phone with me at the moment.

Ahh ok. Thanks
Would it be possible using a rectangle over the progress bar and advanced parameters to set the x-offset?
Yes I imagine that would work, you would need to calculate the percentage then use that to modify the x position
Any idea how to calculate the required offset?
I can't seem to get it
Yes ,sorry my bad I meant to post an example but I got sidetracked:
[ox]$(x offset of progressbar+((#your current value#/#your upper limit)*width of progressbar))$[/ox]
Didn't know what variables you were using hence the text.

Hi again
The above advanced parameters don't seem to work properly.
Its slightly off....
I'm using this parameter.
[ox]$(((#TDataUsed#/2000)*330)+10)$[/ox]the current value of progress bar is
(#TDataUsed#/2000)*100
Upper limit is 100
Hence taking out the 'divide by upper limit.
X off set of progress bar is 10
any idea?
