Hi, I recently bought my LG G4. Android updated after the lollipop to Androi m.
the problem is that, after doing this, I can not move my applications from the internal memory, micro SD
I tried to APP MGR 3 application and does not work me.
I wonder if there is any method to move my applications from the internal memory, micro SD, in my Android Lg g M
Thanks in advance.
PS: Sorry for my bad English, I'm Chilean haha
I want to know how to do this too

Can't find it either. But wasn't that option almost completely useless anyway? When you moved an app, say Monument Valley for example which has about 271mb, it would only move the app itself (~50.88mb) to the external storage but still leave the application data on the internal storage. Great, I won fifty megabytes of free space! That's two raw images worth of space.
Better than nothing, somwyimes you can't even update a 5mb app if the phone say it's full!

ok. Here's the deal. I'd try to do this myself but I have next to no android knowledge other than how to use the things. I was going to get a 64gb card and do the ext sd swap trick I've seen on here BUT... half my hours were cut at work and I can no longer afford to get a 64gb card. I do have a 16gb in the phone now. I was hoping a way to make the phone think that 16 was part of the internal storage so I could extend the internal storage to the sd card. Does that make sense? Is this possible at all? Could anyone make it possible? If I added up the internal with my 16 that'd be 32gb which would be a nice size. I have apps in the app store that I can't install right now because of the limited 16gb (11 usable) space on my phone. I would really appreciate any help you guys could offer me in making my 16gb card work for apps along with my internal storage. Thanks so much!
Wrong section bro :/
Next time ask in Q&A section.
As for your question, as far as I know, that isn't possible. You can either use the internal or swap and use the sd card. You cannot merge both together, though.

What you're 'asking' would be to physically the hard memory of the nand chip - its not going to happen,
Best thing you could do is install what apps you could, then use something like titanium backup and batch move other apps to the sd card. Don't move widgets or any app you use as a widget to the sd card, or you lose widget functionality.
Along with this should be posted in Q & A.

yes yes it was posted in the wrong section, I'm sorry. It was moved to q and a so it's all good i guess...
as for my question, there's no way to join the two partitions together like you could hard drives on a computer?
if not... what is this app2sd about? If I used it would I still have my icons on the homescreens for all my apps or would it be some kind of fugly method of launching the apps on my sd card?
if I replaced my internal with my 16gb sd card would that give me a little more space since android is installed on the 16gb that the phone comes with? Currently my phone says it has 11GB usable space on the storage section... soooo if I used my 16gb would that give me 16GB usable? That'd help with my memory a little bit...
and finally... if I made the 16gb my internal... would it be possible to copy movies and emulator roms to the main phone storage since i'm using sd for apps at that point, or does that just totally negate the internal storage for everything?
sorry to ask so many questions. thanks for the help in advance. sorry about posting in the wrong section.

This is a really confusing question. Have you filled up your internal storage with apps? If so you can extend larger apps to install on the sd card and they'll run normally, unless the app involves a widget. You should never move apps that have widgets over to the sd.

how do I install larger apps to the sd? Also, what would the point be of switching my sd to internal storage like that one mod floating around here if I can just use the internal and install apps to my sd as well?

Search for an app on the market called App 2 SD. There doesn't seem to be a way to do it without a 3rd party app on this phone.

ya i searched for app2sd in the marketplace and they don't work. i think there's only one floating around on the forum here that works with the s3 but i hear it's real clunky too where you don't have icons on your home screen you have to open app2sd and launch some stuff from there which is just weird i dunno. I might bite the bullet and grab a 32gb card and hope that's enough...
Hi!
As I understand the Xperia S has a huge internal memory of 32GB, but this is parted into two partitions: One for Apps (known as /data on my HTC Desire) and one for all kinds of user data (/sdcard).
Right?
I know I can move most parts of most apps to /sdcard with internal functions. But not all apps.
So I would like to have more space for apps - is there anything like HBOOT / http://alpharev.nl to repartition the internal memory for the XS? Anything to make the app partition e.g. 5GB instead of 2GB?
Or: Is there any custom rom which uses the whole internal memory at once with no extra partition mounted to /sdcard? As I understand, this is the way google wants to handle this in ICS. One big internal memory for all purposes.
First, there is a SD card, a data one, a system one, a cache one, boot and maybe some obscure ones. Second, as I'm aware, no known way to increase it. And you don't need a huge partition. You can have a hell lot of apps with 2 GB. The data goes to SD card anyway.

to be honest, I am not sure about this.
At the moment I have a Desire with /data 1,5GB (via ext4 partition). I have only 200MB(!) left!
I have no big games on the phones. Some apps are moved to sd, additional. And there are no many big ones on my phone.
e.g. Facebook has 50MB and cannot be moved. G+ 30MB and I want to use the widget, so it is not moved. Amazon App Shop 30MB, cannot be moved. wetter.com 20MB and this is after moving!
And these are all of the huge apps on my Desire with only 200MB free. the other apps are odds and ends.
So, projected to the XS I would have 700MB free in the moment. And there are many apps I had to delete on my Desire and I want do install them. e.g. the Simpsons game 100MB and cannot be moved ...
/data 233MB free of 1511MB:
/data/app 426MB
/data/dalvik-cache 387MB
/data/data 300MB
/data/app_s 97MB
I, sometimes get to go through my apps list, I look at each one of them, and think: Do I really need this app? I can't uninstall it and download when I need it again?
It may help you.

hm, this sounds like shortage management. And when I by a new phone I do not want to do shortage management, particularly on a phone with 32GB.
[/]
But seriously: my smartphone is my digital Swiss army knife. I do not want to think about "do I need this app the next week?" And even worse "there was an app long time ago which would help me now, but which one from the bunch of similar named app was the one?"

I get it... Well. I'm running out of options right now... Maybe move some apps to system? Needs root, tough

dont know if this is what youre looking for:
well for storage you have 2gig phone memory and 25.80 internal memory,
all of the apps installed on your phone if you didnt move to sd will go to the phone memory which is 2gig,
all of the datas, obb files,pictures,movies,etc.. will be loaded on internal memory,
so the 2gig memory on your phone will be big enough for all your apps, meaning only the .apk files are stored on phone memory
and not the data.
Used Folder Mount app and you can now store games on your external just follow the steps
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192122
Hit Thanks if this helps
Folder mount lets you mount 3 folders and doesnt let you mount obb files unless you pay for the full version. GL2SD is free.
+1 for Folder Mount. Reason being is that it's not just for games. Can be used for any large folder and is extremely easy to use. Yes it does require you to upgrade to premium for more than 3 folders but it's only $1.99. Also developer is still active and responsive on the forums. It had an issue initially with the G PAD that didn't allow updates via Play. Reported it to him and he quickly fixed it.
This was the biggest flaw with the g pad 8.3 for people like me who like to play games on there tablet. A few big ones installed and the internal storage would be almost completely filled up and you can't install apps by default to the sd card making the 64ghost I bought meaning less. But luckily this app exist I'm only using the free version to move my biggest game over for now but I think I will get premium.

gl2sd is a better solution for this purpose..

this is not an issue of gpad, google changed this in newer versions of android so that you can not install games or apps to sd card. But luckily we have root and mounting apps

Does anyone tried this method?

I believe that change mentioned in the article you linked just makes it so that apps can write to the SD card, but doesn't force an app/game/etc. to do so. This hack that the OP is talking about seems to allow linking of any path on the internal storage to external SD (or at least most). Pretty interesting.
I put a 8gb sd acard in my g pad. I can see the card in the file explorer and can move files to it in general, however i cannot move any apps to it. Is everyone else having this issue or has anyone found a workaround?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devasque.fmount
You can't move apps to sd, but you can move, mirror, and patch game files from android/obb and android/data too your sd card. I gained like 4.5GB from moving files. Creates a simlink, making your tablet think the files are still really on the device.
That is incredibly annoying. Very ready for a custom ROM now.
Thanks for the tip

If you think we have that in CM 11 on our V500, you're wrong. We don't, and it's a feature I also really want. Don't know about the LG skin roms though

That sucks so bad
I have a LG gpad 8.3 and i just go to storage it shows internal and sd. Well i went to app manager an clicked on all the biggest apps. And it says move to sd card? It worked. Saved several gigs of internal memory. Then when go back to them apps it shows move to tablet? So its obviously moving mine to the sd card. Maybe it's cuz the new 5.1 lollipop software update i dont know. But Goodluck to all.
I have my Galaxy Note 10 + for 11 months now, with 256 gb internal storage and 128 GB SD card and a few months ago I was notified that my internal storage space was almost full. It was very difficult for me to believe this, as I do not have nearly enough pictures to be taking that up (pictures and videos are routinely uploaded to Google Drive and are stored on external SD card), and all of my music is loaded onto an SD card.
I have cleaned recycle bin but something is getting piled up day by day reducing main storage of the phone base memory. When actually measured the folders account only 60 gb in base memory but there is very less free memory.
Looking at the storage analysis, the problem seems to come from a large amount of space being taken up in the "other" category, but I cannot figure out what is categorized under "other" or why it is filling. How do I identify these files and delete them if unwanted?
SD Maid Pro works great for me. I can confirm that it can delete files. Just did some storage management yesterday.

Good app...
The original samsung Device Care that was loaded with Pie cleans very well.
Don't update it... the new sanitized version sucks.
I put the phone in airplane mode when using it and keep it package block it otherwise. It's probably chinese spyware but works well if gagged, lol.
I use a tool called "DiskUsage". Try installing that from the play store and give it a shot...

Check browser caches/data etc.
Go down the line with all apps including system ones. Google is a hog. See who'd hogging the beef....
I use SD Maid Pro to clean, it does a good job.
Just about time to do a reload anyway. Be picky about the apps you put on the new load.

Use the file manager and sort by size, what's on top?
You need to manually hunt for it. Check app data especially Google's. SD Maid doesn't delete app data.
Get the Windows driver for it and view the Android on the PC. Play with it. Off load some of the files and watch how it behaves. Does internal memory unexpectedly keep being used up?
You can try clearing the system cache on the boot menu but I don't think it will help. Never hurts.
That copy sounds like it's getting old... maybe reload time anyway.
