My lg optimus g pro's screen flickers every now and then when I use some apps. The videos on facebook are also very lagging. Even some videos on Netflix and Hulu are lagging to the point I am unable to watch them. What are some solutions to these issues?
Disable HW overlays in developer settings

I just got my Note 10.1 2014 (LTE) and tried to test a bit. So, new Galaxy with Nova launcher.
I have found YouTube videos don't play smoothly. I see freezing screen (not extreme, but just not smooth).
I did also try Vimeo app and I am having the same issue.
Do your YouTube(HD) videos play smooth and is there anything I can do about to make them play smooth?
I dont have problems with those apps maybe try to enable "force gpu rendering" in developer options. Just as an idea even if I think this wont have a big effect

It does not help. My YT videos are still freezing
An other guess after a bit of reading : disable hardware overlays in developer options. Seems to fix the problem for a few users

I experience the same as you. But not as often . Sometimes the app itself freezes and sometimes it says connection lost. I have to wait a while or close and restart the app..
I have a problem with youtube video not streaming smoothly, every 5 seconds or so it stops to buffer, does anyone know how to fix this?

This is going to sound weird, but try signing into YouTube.
I had the same issue with video playback "network errors" ... after I signed in? Poof ....
My youtube app was useless since it would take like a minute to load and then keep freezing so I decided to change my Internet connection (fortunately at I have two different internet connections in my house) anyways the first had more than enough bandwith to play youtube videos but it just didn't want to so I changed to my other wifi connection and now youtube app works smoothly.
Try a different connection at a friends house or if you have two try the other and it should work, still don't know why youtube didn't work on the first one - could be router and Note don't like each other but honestly I have no idea.
Hi all,
Since installing the update 3 weeks ago, I've been having major problems with video playback. Youtube works fine, but any other video stream or playing back local video files, it will stutter and blink repeatedly and the video will be unwatchable. I thought it was a conflicting app perhaps so I did a factory reset and it worked fine for 2 weeks up until yesterday when it started again. I had installed allcast yesterday so thought that might be it, well I uninstalled and the problem is still there.
Does anyone have any solutions? I know there is a few of you with the same issues.
There is one fix that works but it can break some of Google's apps (mainly google play movies/shows). Enable developer options in the settings (I think you have to tap on your android version in the About->Status menu repeatedly until you get the prompt to enable the developer settings. Then there is an option that says "Disable UI overlay" or something like that make sure to check that box and your videos will work again. It's up to Samsung to fix it with firmware as it was working fine in 4.3.
I have the AT&T G4 and I'm using the latest firmware and the latest update for YouTube. I've noticed this for the past few versions of YouTube and I haven't been able to fix it. I can watch videos for roughly 20-30 minutes and then the video starts freezing and acting like it's loading but it's already loaded most of the video (100+mbps wifi) and it doesn't stop, I can close the app and reopen it and it continues. I have to set it aside for a while before it stops doing it. I don't think that its a ram problem and I'm thinking that its a overheating issue, I'm wondering if anyone else is having this problem and are there any fixes or workarounds?
I've noticed that, especially in Twitter and Facebook, when I try to watch a video on my 5T, it takes the phone 18-22 seconds to switch to HD. The first 20 or so seconds, the videos play in pixelated Standard Def. This happens on wifi as well as 4G, whereas my old LG G3 plays the same videos in HD right from the start. Anyone have an idea why the 5T can't do that or what I can do about it?
The problem seems to be gone in YouTube or when playing embedded video in the browser.
Thanks!
+1
I've been having this issue since OP3. Hasn't figured out how to fix it.
Hi, first of all, I did all the googling, read reddit etc. so the following problem seems to be quite common, u find it a lot on the internet, but maybe I have not seen a possible fix yet...
So, I got the OP9 Pro yesterday, did all the updates, so iam on LE2123_11_C.62 EU right now. When I watch netflix, the dark / black colours, are so dark, I cant see anything. Video quality looks really, really bad, basically unwatchable. Brightness in the system and netflix settings obv highest possible lvl.
I tried the following:
- changed all the video/picture enhancement options in the settings menu, on/off, combinations, everything. Nothing helped.
- Restarted the phone, tried PIP, uninstalled the Netflix app via ADB (u cant uninstall it manually caus they put it as systems app...), reinstalled via play store
- turned off HW-Overly or so in developer settings, caus someone said this will fix it, it didnt.
I basically read 2h of reddit and whatever not threads, I tried so many possible fixxes, nothing helped.
The colours/blacks are so bad, I cant watch netflix at all, makes no sense. It seems to be a long term problem of this phone, caus u find people complaining abt this back from their OP 7. This is only a problem with the dark/black colours and probably HDR?
For a almost 1000€ Phone, this is just ridiclious... I come from a Poco x3 and even though that screen was garbage, at least it would play netflix content properly...
Maybe I missed smt and there is a fix for this?
Thx so much, if I dont find a way to fix it, this phone goes back to OP.
no idea what to tell you. i'm stock and rooted no issues. have u tried uninstalling netflix and reinstalling after a restart? if that persist try reinstalling your current or latest firmware. OP9 Pro is a great phone with a spectacular screen
Hello ,
I have exactly the same dark and yellowish image problem on netflix and amazon prime video.
it seems that the problem only occurs in hdr or high quality video. so I think that with the netflix 1 screen or 2 screens subscription there should not be the same problem.
indeed in the netfix settings if I lower the video quality (saving data) the image becomes much brighter.
I think there is really a big bug on hdr content, and what is more worrying is that the problem is still present in the oos13 beta despite the problem having been reported several times...
the problem seems to be known for a long time and still not corrected and affecting many users:

Is there a way to effectively resolve this issue?
Apparently not...I'm on one plus 8t on Android 13 and the black section are simply unwatchable
