is there a tv remote control that works with our nexus 5x?
that's going to really depend on the TV model you have.

And what you want to do with it? If you have a computer you cab control the computer with unified remote. If you have Android tv you can control it with droidmote. The nexus 5x does not have ir so you can control via Bluetooth or thw wifis

I've tried several (iMediaShare Lite, BubbleUpnp) I didn't tried the other one yet, but I must be doing something entirely wrong... I can't get my TV to see my phone at all
I use PS3 Media Server on my MAC and my TV, PS3 and XBOX360 sees it without any issues. on my old Droid X there was a build in app for it and it worked no problem, why am I having so many issues with 3rd party app is beyond me
For Bubble, you have to have the paid version and enable it as a renderer in the settings. You could also try Twonky...
Hello everybody, I have a question and I know there is a wealth of Tech wisdom on this forum. How can I benefit pairing my cellphone to my samsung t.v. set via bluetooth? I want to learn new things to do with my cell phone.

I tried this and it does not work for me.
Look for Samsung remote un the play store. Both the tv and phone need to be connected to the same wifi to work.

I am currently using Samy Go remote because it is the only remote that works in Tablet Mode. But my quest ion has to do with bluetooth and not wifi. I love streaming thru wifi. But why do they have bluetooth?

I'm guessing it has to do with options. I imagine not everyone has wifi.

yeah I used the remote app before. Works fine, has all the buttons the normal remote does. All of them don't fit on the screen though. You actually have to scroll up and down the remote from what I remember.

I don't BT to my TV, bt on my TV runs my keyboard.
That actually seems really cool to me. Do all sammy tvs do that?

Allot of the newer ones do. Mine does allot more MINE. Dont even need a PC for the TV now.
I have a Panasonic viera plasma instead of a Sammy set and it works great from my phone. It uses wifi to connect instead of bt.
With Allshare, I can view pics and stream music but not videos.
Comes in handy because my couches tend to eat my remotes, the phone is always in my pocket
It looks like the general consensus is that bluetooth from the phone to the tv is worthless and wifi is way more useful.
If I helped you out in any way please thank me. Thanks.
I connected my phone to my google TV made by Sony. I can use it as a remote to control the TV but that's about it. I'm sure you could transfer files if you found some reason you needed to lol.
Notice the n7 doesn't have a IR blaster. Is there any way to control my tv/directv? Was thinking there may be a ir blaster that plugs in the micro usb at the bottom or maybe some other way. Tried searching google but couldn't find anything, any of you guys controlling your tv with your new toy?

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.satremote.android.free this one is a real time remote for DirectTV I have been using it, it works well.and the favorite thing is awesome because it also works as a channel guide.

I use the LG TV 2011 app on my GS3 and new N7. The LG 3DTV I have has a bunch of smart apps like Netflix, VUDU etc, plus its a good replacement for the magic wand remote. In fact I prefer using the app over that remote, though I was surprised it uses Wifi vs Bluetooth. I find the BT smoother to operate.
do you have any problems turning on your tv with the lg 2011 remote? i don't get my n7 til the 1st, but my galaxy s3 can't turn the tv on for whatever reason.
You can always buy the Logitech Harmony Ultimate hub ;P
We have a Roku and use the Roku app. Boom

I use the LG 2013 app with my TV and it works great. TV has to be on the same wifi network tho. Also use the Roku app with my Roku and it works great also.

Is it possible to use Chromecast on our GPro? I plan to use it to play video from MX PLayer and view it on TV.
Also, if it is possible, what are the things needed to set up the connection?
1. My GPro installed with MX player and Chromecast app
2. Chromecast, plugged to TV?
3. Wifi modem
4. TV with HDmi input
Am I missing anything else? Like a cable or something?

Chromecast works for pretty much any Android or iOS device and PCs. MX Player will not work unless there's something new I'm not aware of. Right now it only works for YouTube, Google Play content, Netflix, Hulu (I think) and Chrome browser on PC will cast anything you can play in the web browser. Pr0n and all that lol.
Just plug the Chromecast into your HDMI port connect the power and setup here. The chromecast app just enables chromecast specific functions in the apps mentioned above. Not sure when we'll be able to play our own content. They say eventually. We'll see. I love mine I have 2 one in my bedroom and one in the living room. It also comes with everything you need.
It works

That's good to hear. Sounds pretty cool though. Unfortunately viewing own content is my main concern using the device. Finding a cable here is quite difficult. They are all MHL to HDMi.

I want to mirror my screen to my TV using Chromecast. Is it possible on the Galaxy Nexus?
Chromecast does not mirror. You have a bunch of applications that can stream media to your TV via HDMI port. That's the basic idea and also it's beauty so you can turn off your phone or disconnect and the stream is still playing on your TV.

Mirroring from phone to TV is the old fashion way, just get an Android TV box or TV stick (as big as a USB thumb drive), plug right into your hdmi port on your TV, now you have a full Android on your TV with a real browser and all the Android apps from playstore, next download the XBMC app (free), now you just turn your tiny little TV Android box into a super MEDIA CENTER, where you can stream anything directly to your TV, from latest HD movies, TV series etc...and use your phone as the remote control for the Android box or wireless keyboard/mouse.
That's a nice idea, but then how do I watch videos and pictures stored in my phone?
