So my email notifications are not working as they were prior to the latest update. For example, when I turned my phone on this morning I had emails but never got a notification. There are random times throughout the day that this happens as well.
I also noticed that my touch screen is not always registering touches, never had this issue before.
I have wiped cache but not done a factory reset yet, which I will do next.
Anyone else having similar issues?
i'm also missing email notifications as well occationally
Did a factory reset and I didn't even restore it from my saved devices, so setup as brand new, and still having email notification issues.
This is really frustrating, they worked perfectly prior to the December update. I can have multiple emails from different email addresses and no notification icon.

Hey all,
Have my phone on Vibrate and when I receive a Google mail the phone isn't vibrating and the LED isn't flashing. As far as I can see all options in Google mail and the phone settings suggest I should be getting both.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Russ
Hmmmmm a reboot seems to have fixed this, lets hope it doesn't get into a habit of it
didn't work for me, rebooted, but still no vibrate on new SMS, light flashing, tho
Apologize for cross-posting, but I'm getting frustrated with this. A reboot didn't help me either.
Everything was working before, but just today I noticed it refused to vibrate on email notifications. WinMo used to have a similar annoying bug, but it was related to replies. This bug is affecting all messaging notifications, i.e. Exchange, pop3, Gmail and SMS.
I've gone in to general settings and put vibrate on. I've gone into each account and turned vibrate on. I've gone into Messaging (SMS) and turned vibrate on. Vibrate is basically turned on throughout the system, but it's still not vibrating except for phone calls.
I've uninstalled all of the last apps I had installed to no avail.
Anyone with any advice?
Last resort could be hard reset

Not really keen on hard reseting, but will try that as a last resort.
I ended up fixing it with a hard reset.
First time around, I chose to reinstall the settings from the auto backup that was on the SD card, but I experienced the same behaviour.
Redid the hard reset and opted for cancel when asked about reinstalling the backup settings and all seems well so far.
Suspect it was a dodgy app or could have been that running the battery down flips a software switch to turn off vibrations, but the switch has a hard time flipping back. Will wait and see how long I can keep the vibrating notifications, but now I know how to solve it.
On another note, talk about a waste with that auto backup function. I mean, to really be useful you should be able to choose when it backs up and which backup you want to reinstall. Having it constantly backup settings like it does is bound to backup whatever went wrong in the first place. Oh well.
I have to admit that I do not know if this should go in Q&A or here... first time posting. So I have been trying to figure this out for the last week. I have researched EVERYWHERE and I am unable to find it.
Last week my E4GT quit vibrating for text messages and emails. I did load a couple applications around the time this started happening so I uninstalled them and this did not help. I noticed that a few others were having this same problem and downloaded an application called Smart Vibrator and this only allows you to get the text messages to vibrate, not the emails. I use K9 Mail for my emails.
Since I know that Sprint Customer Service loves to tell me that it is my phone instead of listening to me, I did a complete reset of the phone (what a pain) and wiped everything. I unrooted, rerooted, everything... Again, nothing. Anyone recommend anything?
Well if anyone is having this problem, I have tried everything. I did find a couple apps that seemed to have worked. Vibrate tools or Force vibration seems to help.
There's a free app called Sound Manager that will let you set the vibration status.
Any luck on this geojam?
What seems strange to me is that you did a "complete wipe and reset", and it still didn't work, but after the fact an app "fixed" it.
I would have said do a complete ODIN reset, and if it still not working, get a replacement because it's hardware...
Btw, welcome to XDA!
Sent from my calculator watch.
For months now, i havent been getting fb notifications through the official app. even before i upgraded to ICS and rooted my phone. I've flashed the firmware multiple times and the notifications never worked, no matter what i tried (uninstalling update, ending the activity on my account settings on fb.com etc)...
But last week, I flashed my phone and surprisingly I was getting all my notifications for some days now without a problem. Then I was forced to flash my phone again last night and since then, no more push notifications at all....
Any advice? Same thing is basically happening with my twitter app, but twitter shoes the notification up top and even vibrates, it just doesnt ring off no matter how many times iv changed the notification sound, and yes the volume is all the way up

Pvy.

Yeah thats what ive been doing. i just found it stranged it worked fine the last time i flashed
This happened to me before on Nougat and the problem was fixed by just disabling battery optimization in the settings, but now on Pie, battery optimization is disabled for Textra and its still doing it. Ill get a notification and it will stay on the screen for about a second and disappear, whether the screen is on or off. Its also intermittent, earlier this morning, it was working fine, now its back to doing it again, restarts don't make any difference either, and I've tried disabling the stock messages app, restarting, and still no dice. Also this is a clean flash, everything except internal storage was wiped prior to updating. Is anyone else having this issue?
I too use Textra and today have been using my Pixel XL with Pie and when receiving texts while looking at another app, the notification icon sidings didn't show, tho the phone vibrated for the incoming text.
I've not experienced this, before, with any phone or Android version / ROM.
Hi!
First of all, I'm new to this phone - I owned it for about 2 weeks. and I'm very happy with it. Nonetheless I have noticed an issue that I hope someone can help me out with:
Since the phone doesn't have the notification LED, I have tried out a couple of apps to facilitate this function. I ended up uninstalling them. Now I experience that some notifications are not coming through (so far I've noticed text messages). I'm trying to figure out whether this is an issue with the phone, or if it might have something to do with the notification apps that I tested? I configured the apps and settings/permissions as necessary to get them to work, but I never reset those same settings before I uninstalled.
The issue I am facing is e.g. if a text message is sent to my phone (with display not on), the text and/or notification randomly doesn't get through until I wake the phone. After waking it, the message comes through immediately. Could this have something to do with testing those notification apps? If so, is there any way to find the specific settings and reset them or am I facing a factory reset to get it to work properly again?
Any help or hint is appreciated
