I bought two 5xs. One for me and one for my friend. Mine is fine but his 5x is having some trouble.
It's basically getting stuck and then force restarts. When it freezes it gets these weird lines.

After a bit it will force restart. Usually the first boot after a freeze will result in the 5x freezing while booting.
After the second attempt it will usually boot. So far that's a pattern I have identified. But I have no idea why it's getting stuck though. So far it has gotten stuck in the bootloader, stock recovery, twrp, while booting and while using the device.
The first time it happened the phone hasn't been messed with other than the bootloader being unlocked and just the general setup of the phone.
First we tried a factory format but no luck. Then we flashed MDB08M (Which it came with). While booting into the bootloader or the recovery it freezed pretty much every single time. It didn't freeze during the flashing though. But even after a clean flash, it still keeps freezing.
Tried flashing trwp and Supersu. Rooted but it still keeps freezing.
Anyone has any idea what's going on here?

Reset as in a Factory data reset? I'm afraid we tried that. Because it was unsuccessful we flashed the factory image.

I know it is. But it's not worth it to fight all the time with the device for that kind of money. You should have a new one within the week.

Like my title says I have a i317 Note II on AT&T. It was bricked a while back I tried factory reset which sent it into a boot loop until the battery drained now it is just a brick and wont start but past the Samsung logo.
I ran Odin v3.09 with a Pass but the phone is still doing the same thing. Not sure where to go after this. Do I need to run a new bootloader file? Any help would be great.
These are the files I ran with it:
i317.pit
I317-UCUBMK6.tar.md5

Is the phone still turning on? If so maybe try booting into recovery first and wiping all data before flashing stock rom again with odin?
I tried that. I have been able to get the phone to boot but as soon as it restarts it goes right back into a bootloop. Try wiping again and restarting with the same results. Stuck in a boot loop on the first Samsung screen.
Hi people,
forgive me if it is posted before but I couldn't find it. (I think I'm getting really old)
My phone note2 is stuck on "Galaxy Note II "screen. I haven't install any upgrade, haven't done any update etc. It just happened by itself. I know I can fix this by doing "wipe data & factory reset" but I need my data (especially photos and contacts). Is there any way to get though without losing any data?

In recovery select apply update from cache. If it's cached the previous update files they may be able to replace the damaged one. If that doesn't work and you end up back in recovery, try wiping the cache and rebooting.
thanks for your reply but I think I messed up. I tried a software called Dr.fone to recover my data and I end up stuck in Dr.fone recovering screen. And then I tried to root the phone. It looked like it was successful but the screen is gone now and I'm not able to open the phone nor in recovery mode neither in odin mode. I may damaged the motherboard
I've recently returned to stock ROM due to the camera issues on any custom ROM for the LG G4.
I've now ran in to a problem where my Bluetooth won't activate, I activate through settings, the button flips to the right as if it goes to activate but switch doesn't turn dark grey and it stays that way.

Going to another screen and coming back to settings shows that Bluetooth is switched off.
I've got a logcat dump but I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking for.

I can see it's having errors but I'm not sure what to do about it - is anyone able to help?
Many thanks!
I'm having this exact same problem now with my G4...
Did you end up fixing it?

then its sounds like a hardware problem.. sorry.
Fix
Do a full wipe.
Flash the stock rom via twrp (20d prerooted).
And then flash stock rom via LGUP or install any other custom rom and it should work. I had this problem many times and this method always worked for me
I have my cousin's phone right here - just yesterday he tried to update to Lollipop. He was on stock TouchWiz, no root or anything of the sort and installed the update.
Now, if I try to turn on the phone, all I get is this screen and it just stays there forever:

If I try to boot into the bootloader, all I get is this: https://goo.gl/photos/WBSAcHhALQ9Jmz2n9
I really don't know what I would do here - can you do anything once your bootloader is f*ed up?
If it helps, the phone's model is SM-N7505
Yes, the same issue happened with me today on Note3 Neo. I rebooted the phone and it stuck on the same place. Checked in local phone repairing shop unable to make hard reset. They are suspecting of hardware issue. What could be the coz of this?

How would I do that without being able to access the bootloader? I haven't done much with Samsung devices yet, only with my HTC phones. I've heard of the name ODIN though... Are there any tutorials you can recommend?
You don't need bootloader to flash stock rom via Odin, you only need to access Download mode (vol. down+home+lock). You can look up tutorials on YT. Just type "How to flash stock Samsung rom using Odin". Hope that helps somehow
So, I really wanted to get the phone rooted, and I couldn't do it without a recovery, because I can't find the firmware for it no matter what, there is only firmware for 5059d, so when I flashed TWRP for 5059d, it was asking for a password, but I didn't have one. I made one, but TWRP didn't let me mount internal storage. I tried factory reset and it made it even worse, it showed me this image

I tried factory reset but didn't help, then I tried to flash 5059d stock recovery, it worked, but now it does not even want to boot into system, I have tried Wipe data/Factory reset, didn't help. I am stuck now. I did try to flash stock firmware for 5059d, but I can't do it for some reason, SP flashtool throws me some ERROR : STATUS_BROM_CMD_FAIL /0xC0060005) error. I really don't know what to do now, if someone knows to help me, it would be preety cool . This is not my main phone, but I really want to get it fixed. Screw rooting now.

Look at this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...rom-a-5059d-to-unbrick.4598953/#post-88676529
May be worth a shot. If I were you I'd first try normally just plugging the usb cable in while the phone is off, and if it doesn't work, take it apart, unplug the battery, and then plug it in
