When you look at the free storage showed by Titanium backup you can see that the /system partition is far too big and about 2,4gb of space is unused/wasted.
Of course i use a custom rom with small gapps, the stock rom uses a lot of more storage.
What about re-partition the storage and assign that unused space to the usable partition?
I found a "resize filesystem" function in twrp and wondering if somebody already tested this.

I am also interested to know this as well, especially as I have the 16gb version

Using latest Sotmax/redpill, simplistic framework, Xposed App settings, MW Manager and Master Key dual fix. I've also activated fat32 to internal mod with the Stweaks app. But that was not the point where the strangeness had started. Even after formatting internal sd, the device will always show 8.xxGb under settings/storage. But in Storage Analyzer app, it'll show 10.5gb of free storage. Again, this happens regardless of the int2ext mod! So the question is, what's going on there?

Don't mind the adressbar showing extSdCard. That's up to int2ext mod.

My wife's phone's internal SD filled up with some rogue phantom files that wasn't accessible or even visible with file browser app on Stock firmware.
I decided to root and flash with CyanogenMod - being sure to format the system in the hope that those rogue, phantom files were wiped. This didn't work and the attached picture is its current state showing only 2.62GB available where there should be around 8GB available.
Can anyone shed some light on this perplexing issue.
Many thanks

...Somebody humor me, at the very least - It's driving me mad!
As you can see in the screenshot below the OS Occupied size is 8.63 and internal storage or partition size of ext4 is just ~23gb, Very less for a device with 32gb storage.
So i dig into this problem and found that 8gb includes my TWRP backup i took a long back ago, Now i want to delete it but i can't find it. I tried for searching backups in TWRP but there's none i think TWRP looks in ext4 that is it only searches in 23gb, not 8gb.
I spent the whole night yesterday to fix it but no success. I want my ext4 partition to take the normal space that near about ~29-30gb and i want to delete that backup. I want my partitions to be as it was before (its fked up)

I have recently switched to Adoptable Storage using 128GB SD Card. However upon successfully completing the steps, I found that not much space is available. Most of them is taken away by System Storage as shown in the image below in "About Phone > Storage".

However, looking at the File Manager all seems perfectly fine as shown below
My Xiaomi Renot 5 is not rooted nor bootloader unlocked and I have no plan in doing so.
The ROM being used is still the latest Official MIUI 11.
I sincerely hope that anyone has a solution for this problem and I don't really want to resort to Factory Rest if possible.
Thank you in advance
Hello, so I followed this guide and put new 64GB MicroSD card into phone, formatted is as internal storage, moved system onto it and unfortunately it doesn't seem to work as intended - free space is still few hundred MBs as it was before and I cannot install some bigger game because it shows there is not enough space :-\
It's MIUI 11.0.2

it shows system storage is 53.49GB, but some OS parts think it's not free. I can connect it to PC and I see there is almost 10GB in DCIM\Camera and this works fine in the gallery app.
