I recently got a hold of a Nexus 7 2013. It has an issue (which I've found to be pretty common) where it will get stuck on the Google screen on boot. I've tried unlocking it, but it gets stuck and does nothing. I would really like to get this fixed and use it. Any help is appreciated!
You need to provide more information about your setup before anyone will offer you advice... Running stock? If so, build version? Rooted? If so, ROM, version of ROM, and description of any other mods used, I.e. custom kernel, xposed, etc. Also, the information of your post is formatted as a special Q&A thread, the contents of which aren't visible to those that use Tapatalk or mobile browsers to access XDA...
when you plug it into your computer does it show up in ADB?
Yes
As far as I know, stock, was running 5.0, 32 Gig if that helps
Do you know of a way I can reformat the thread to be a discussion?
I already ordered a replacement motherboard, from further research, I found that this is a hardware issue that is common with the 32 gig model. I'll close this thread in a few days if there's no further replies.

I own an Xperia Play R800x.
I bought the first one four months ago it worked fine. I dropped it the screen cracked and got a replacement through asurion I received the replacement three weeks ago.
Since I started using the replacement it freezes then restarts on average 2-4 times a day (the most was eleven). It doesn't have any type of pattern that I can think of it restarts when I'm on the home screen, playing games, Emulators, using Facebook and related apps, even freezes when I'm reading. I have checked the battery to ensure it was properly connected, I have done the factory reset three times. To no avail.
The only advice I've found on the interwebs is to update the firmware but that's impossible because of Verizon.
Yesterday I rooted the phone using superoneclick and installed a custom rom called GBTweaked hoping that it may help. And it didn't.
Just wondering if anybody else has had this problem and would be willing to help me resolve it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. And if you need more info just ask.

The only thing I can think of would be to download Flashtool and the Stock ROM FTF file and return it completely to stock. Run it that way for a bit and see if it makes any difference. If not, I would call Verizon for another replacement and explain this one is defective and you have done all the factory resets, etc. Do NOT tell them it was rooted, obviously.
For the necessary files, go to the Question & Answers section and then open my guide called "[GUIDE] R800x owners - You got Custom ROM questions? I've got Answers!". It has updated links to the files you will need. Good luck!

Welp as soon as i re installed the Stock Rom and started it, it froze and restarted as I was setting up my Gmail account. I'll continue testing it though to see if it makes any difference in the next couple days.
Thanks for the advice though guess I'll have to try Verizon.
And that's an awesome thread as its what I used to help me install the Rom.
This behavior started within the last month or so.
My Nexus 7 randomly reboots 2 or 3 times per day most days, but not every day. It's running the factory ROM and it's not rooted. It rarely reboots when it's actually being used. Usually the reboots happen when it's sitting idle. Googling around led to suggestions to take a bug report immediately after it reboots. I have a couple, but I don't know what I'm looking for in them. The files are over 111k lines long so it's not like I can just skim through the file. How can I go about finding out what's causing the tablet to reboot?
Lines beginning with F are describing fatal errors, E are for errors, W for warnings. Which stock image is installed?

Are you using the latest update 4.4.2?
I think what i would recommend that if you are really concerned about this problem you have two options. One you could take it in and if you have a warranty you could possibly return it as a faulty device and get another tablet.
Second what i would recommend that you do is try erasing everything on the device and re-flash a clean stock factory ROM back on to the tablet and see if that helps.
One last option is that you could do a logcat or catlog and see if that helps you any...
You could do a log session and upload the text file here on xda (if its not too big) or maybe put the output on something like pastebin and maybe someone here on xda could help you. Most likely if i had to guess is that I think it might be a program that is causing your tablet to reboot.
So if you don't want to do do a reset and flash a stock factory ROM to your device try thinking back when your tablet was working correctly. Did you happen to install any extra apps? Maybe a big game? You could try deleting apps one by one to see if any of these newly added apps may be the culprit.
Here is a link on how to do a logcat or catlog session -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1726238
Here is a link on how to hard reset your tablet -> http://blog.laptopmag.com/how-to-hard-reset-a-bricked-nexus-7-with-your-pc
the above tutorial is for the 2012 nexus 7 the commands are the same just replace the stock image with the correct nexus 7 2013 one.
i hope this has been helpful...

having this issue too. even if I flash a custom ROM and even if i hard reset/restore! I think it will be fixed in the next android update. Its annoying because im like in school using photoshop on my tablet to do a alternate book cover for a book report, then all of a sudden it shuts off and I loose my work!...
Android 4.4.3, will be released in the next week or so. Google has said it will fix the random reboot, most of us have been dealing with.... No need to flash anything... Just need to be patient with it for seven more days

I didn't have any unwished reboots on Carbon ROM 4.4.2. Not a single one.

OK, all guys with fastboot conectivity problems, it really makes me sad to read about your issues and I hate to hear about bootloops and desperate forum mates!
Therefore, I think this will be solution for most of you: I will post here a new guide within less than 24 hours how to install ADB and fastboot in Ubuntu/Linux OS!
When you install Ubuntu OS, it takes only another 2 min to install ADB and fastboot.... and IT WORKS THERE!
Linux is in general much better than Windows for flashing Android devices. And it needs no stupid, nasty drivers so the things can't go so easyly wrong.
Use this time and already install Ubuntu aside your Windows. In most of cases it works flawlessly. You will have dual boot possibility. Please check WWW how to do it, it costs bit of time but it is really easy afterwards.

I've been looking around this website and trying to fix my soft bricked at&t galaxy sgh i747(failed root) but there are multiple methods and it's extremely confusing. I've even lost all my data from a factory reset. I've tried to follow these instructions the most because no sd card is required (which I don't have) and it's the simplest:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2658486
I downloaded the second cwm link but I can't seem to get it into into odin because none of the extensions are being recognized. I've been trying different methods for about 3 days now and nothing has worked. It took me hours just to get odin to recognize my sIII. Is this even the correct method to follow?
I just wanted to debloat all the crap those corporate parasites forced onto my device but it's not worth the headache. Please point me to the correct thread or whatever so this torture can end and i can be on my way. thank you so much.
BACKGROUND:
I don't have an SD CARD and the android version was 4.4.2 before the brick. i tried using kingo root which rooted the verizon version on my at&t phone and then I uninstalled some bloatware with an app and when I closed the app, the top bar started to flicker and then it closed. I have not found any posts with my situation and I'm beginning to think I'm SOL. Posts have told me that my phone cannot be downgraded because you can't use a lower android version and other posts say you need an SD card. I'm able to get to the download mode and factory reset page.
The phone even boots onto the home screen for the wizard guide, but when it gets to google services it says the wizard has stopped. I'm able to mess around with a few things like the settings/camera but there are no apps.
Will someone tell me if there is any hope. There are so many tutorials out there, but I have yet to find a clear one for my situation.

Properly the reason you bricked it was that you flashed something from this forum which is the international i9300 and any file here will not agree with your phone. You need to report your post and get it moved to the at&t forum where they might be able to help you.
Hi. First of all this is not a standard "bought in China" thread.
Phone is Samsung Galaxy Nexus i9250
Althought the phone was sold as new it was pre rooted with a custom ROM which I believe came from SlimRoms.
I have some experience rooting my previous phones but for some reason nothing works on this phone. I've tried CM but always fails, same with downloading ROMS direct from ClockworkMod.
I would really like to change it to run CM but to be honest any change would be welcome but its like something I've never encountered before is blocking any change.
If anyone could help me I'd be a very happy man
I've attached a screenshot from the phone showing the kernel and ROM it came with.

Hi! I think in your situation the best way for your nexus is to restore all to stock flashing the google factory image (you can find it here)
After that you can start to reunclock the bootloader, flash a custom recovery or what you prefer.
Tell me if u have some problem to flashing the factory image
Hi, thanks for the advice, I thought you were onto something but unfortunatly not. I have no idea what the seller did to this phone but its like its locked out. I can't get any computer, software or comand to recognise it. It's as if once it conects to the computer its nothing more than a USB even in bootloader it's not seen.
Hey,
I actually don't have any hope of reply here since this thread seems to be dead but i might try as well. I've got the note 7 from my mother when it had the 30% battery update (or maybe even dead). I was able to bring it back to life and used it since then. Last week i flashed Oreo on it and accidentally deactivated OEM-lock which got my phone FRP-locked on bootup. I know i normally just have to flash a stock rom onto the phone in oder to revive it but i've tried like 7 or 8 versions now and they all fail. As i understood by reading another thread i need the stock rom which i was running before i put a custom firmware on it. Well i can't find any rom with this battery limitation any i also am not really sure how to search for it. Somebody here said in download-mode you could see which version you need but i don't know how. I am getting pretty desperate as i just put 40 Euro into the phone for repair and stuff and now this Phone is still too good to throw it away.
So my question is: Does someone have a stock rom stored on cloud which could help me? And if not does someone know what i have to search for?
Any help is appreciated. Thx in advance
