So a few days ago i was able to text perfectly fine and make calls on my G2 after flashing the modified rayglobe rom. I bought this G2 off of a friend and on friend Sprint accidently blacklisted the phone, BUT, they un-blacklisted it on monday (checked through swappa and a call via sprint) All yesterday it kept saying "restricted access changed voice service blocked" even after it being un-blacklisted, tried multiple new roms even AOSP ones. I assumed that sprint locked my SIM possible so i got a new one from T-mobile. I put that one in today and now i get a notifacation i have a voicemail but still says i have no service.
Even if I select to choose a network of says it's unable to connect please try again later, but it shows multiple networks. Even if I go into the network unlock menu it says it's permanently locked. Would a factory restore through the LG utility fix this?
Hi all. To keep it short...I was playing around with my carrier folder too much trying to unlock this phone (to get rid of the no SIM notification by using a GSM SIM...A Sprint SIM keeps failing after a certain amount of time and the SIM notification is there too). Does anyone mind sharing an unmolested LS990 carrier folder? You must be rooted or else you wont see the files in the /carrier/ folder.
Also I assume my broken carrier folder is the cause of why my carrier everywhere now says "LG" instead of "Sprint" (and also why my bootup animation is LG instead of LG & Sprint?)
As a thanks in advance, I didn't see this documented anywhere...then again I didn't search too much, while I was digging around the carrier folder, a certain value in a table of the node.db file caught my eye...(pic attached. Original value was 1).

I've already read through that. There really wasn't any proof that it worked. I'm beyond ever editing the build.prop on this phone. I dunno how they got it to work. And updating your PRL does nothing to unlock a phone...I dunno what they were doing there either. I believe that the unlock is in the carrier folder (much like the G2) but you'd actually need a functional carrier folder. I might try it out in the future when I get a working carrier folder but for now I've downloaded xposed and a module that allowed me to remove the SIM icon from the status bar.
Thanks though!

Yes it works, if you are outside US. (Sprint unlock your G3 for other carriers outside US)
I bougth my LS990 on ebay as Unlocked, and use with UMTS/GSM carrier on El Salvador with 3G support. Thats the reason why Sprint support Local, LTE, Cdma and GSM/UMTS options out of the box, but you only can use gsm/umts outside US.

I have an "international" SIM. For the most part its a iPhone unlock SIM...like a gevey. It SHOULD be recognized by the phone as an international SIM (the Galaxy S5 identified it as one after being internationally unlocked). I UICC unlocked my G3 ota. Still didn't see my ICCID of the card. I assume because my carrier folder is boned. Hence why I made this thread
For anyone wondering why I'm using a gevey, I'm flashed on CDMA to boost. I Don't NEED a SIM in the phone...but it's nice to have one in there so I don't get the big ole no SIM notification in the status bar. (Can't use a Sprint SIM, they all get rejected eventually and the SIM icon comes up in the status bar). And to use one without the icon in the status bar the phone needs to be internationally unlocked. Hence my dilemma with the non functional UICC unlock function courtesy of my molestation of the carrier folder. I did end up doing a workaround. Used xposed and g3 tweakbox to get rid of it.

Hi,
Using a rooted LG G3 bought from Amazon UK and is rooted but running v10i-EUR. Have run o2 and Vodafone without issue in the phone but with a new 3 SIM card the phone says that it is ROAMING and has disabled data. I know the SIM works ok as I have tried it in my work S5 and it works great.
Thoughts?
A friend recently purchased a black lg g2 /sprint on swappa. Upon trying to activate he kept getting a message saying that the sim card locked power down and try again. After doing a factory reset and trying again same message pops up . He has a sprint sim in the phone. When he went on the phone to settings - status , underneath the imsi number there is something titled Brand w/ the word Chamelon below it. He is now wondering is this a sprint lg g2 or something that virgin or boost have on their networks. Thanks in advance
So I just switched service from verizon to at&t and have noticed no 4g and my mms not working, as well as some other things like symbols on my notification bar just not working as well when it was on verizon(such as a sim card with a ? And no notification of what kind of service im getting ex 3g 4g), I didnt know if there is a rooted version of an at&t rom (stock obv bootloader isnt unlocked) that can make things like this work, I have changed the apn but still no mms, I am on a rooted version of verizons 5.1 build vs98613B thanks
