Rooted users--what are you getting rid of? - Verizon LG G4

I just rooted my phone and have been slowly removing Verizon bloatware. What are the specific apps/processes you're scrapping to give the phone more speed and better battery life?

Disabling bloat apps

Does disabling the stock apps help or hinder battery life? I'm on the fence about rooting right now, and when I disabled the bloat on my E4GLTE, it killed the battery life.
I don't see how disabling bloat would kill your battery unless you were killing them several times a s day causing them to eat up more juice restarting compared to just running at all times. Bloat apps can really eat up your system ram.... but considering the s3 has 2gb of ram... it shouldnt cause to many problems. I would strongly advise rooting. Be sure to read up and know exactly what your doing before rooting.... you don't want to end up with a 500 dollar paper weight. Rooting and flashing is safe if you know what your doing. Search for qbking rooting videos on youtube for step by step directions. I strongly advise going with blazer from.

Rooting drain more battery than leave it stock?

Is there an expert can comment on this? I felt like after rooting, my phones drain more battery than leave it Stock? Especially after removed bunch of ATT Bloats
Is android system relies on certain apps for functionality. and when it senses that some apps that it relies on are disabled/reemoved, it'll put in the "extra work" in continuing to 'connect' to these apps so, it drains more battery???
No. Rooting does not drain the battery more.
Rooting itself won't cause battery drain. What you do after the root can have an impact though.

No rooting device doesn't drain battery life but as WorldIRC stated its What you do after the root can have an impact.
To prevent bad results after root.
Install TWRP using goomanager and make BACKUP so you can recover stock image if things go bad

[Q] Improve battery life?

New T-Mobile HTC One M8 user here, been using it SIM unlocked on TMobile (used Jump!) and StraightTalk's AT&T 4G LTE.
Well I'm at about 31% and charging.
Any tips on improving battery life? I always keep my brightness rather low, but my battery life is much worse than my Nexus 5's. Almost thinking of exchanging for S5 as the removable battery may help.
This is not a rant or hate thread, I simply want to ask other T-Mobile HTC One M8 users their experiences.
Seriously I'm having to charge once or twice per day. My dad has the M8 on VZW and his phone gets much better battery life, I almost feel like my phone is defective. That or the TMO version uses more battery life.
BTW Wi-Fi is off.
Thanks,
Thomas

I make it through a full day here, I'm used to the batt life of a note3, so it takes some getting used to. I have bluetooth/wifi on all day, with facebook/g+/twitter/4emails syncing (evy 15min). I used titanium backup to freeze all the apps I dont use or wont use... ie all tmo apps, ant+, etc also use greenify for help also...

Ah thanks. Nice Kakashi Chibi
Make sure you get Lookout off and try to get rid of it if possible. Nuke Carrier IQ in to the sun. I use Lux to autoadjust the brightness and that seems to help a lot. If you really need help look in to JuiceDefender. I can easily go a day without charging, and I haven't enabled JuiceDefender yet.
Disabling Google Now and restarting helps. Apparently there is a bug in kit kat that hammers the CPU and drives the android ui usage up with it enabled.

I honestly think it depends on how you are treating the battery and using your phone. Remember new phones get used more initially. You can get an S5 but that doesn't mean you'll get better battery life. Also, please don't take it from me. There are professionals that have shown the M8 to have better battery life than even the Note 3 and S5.
Proof M8 has competitive battery life

Can we under clock this phone

Trying to give this phone better battery life. Already rooted and froze alot of the bloat wear. Battery life is much improved. Just thought that this chip is more than what is needed to process, multi-task, etc. Thought that if I could underclock would increase battery life without any noticeable lag. Tried a couple of apps from Play but they did not work. Any suggestions? I'm not super tech savy but I've been hooked on rooting since HD2. Seems like rooting and custom ROMS are dying but that's another subject. Any suggetions would be greatly apreciated. Thanks

Should I even bother rooting my replacement phone (biggest concern is battery life)?

I understand this is mostly a question of opinion, and not black and white, but I'm curious to hear what folks think. I just got a warranty replacement HTC One M9, and heavily debating whether or not to to root, since it was a pretty significant challenge for me to return the old one to stock. One of the main reasons I can remember rooting all these years through various phones was the free hotspot (except data usage) when verizon charged a set fee for that, and run a leaner ROM which ultimately helped performance and battery life. As far as I know, Verizon no longer charges that fee, so that benefit is gone.
Pro's to rooting:
Can use Root Explorer (I could live without)
Can use Titanium Backup (if not rooted, I think I can live without)
Can use Greenify to help battery life (this seemed very useful)
Removal of bloat from ROMs
Think there were some other suggestions somewhere on better battery life that might have needed root
Batter battery life?
Am I missing anything?
Pro's to not rooting:
OTA updates
Can use Good for Enterprise or some new Blackberry thing they do now, neither which install to rooted phone
More secure
No more taking days to load new ROM and reload apps
I think I only have 4 months left on warranty, but easy swap if I do
(I have no idea about this one) Old phone couldn't connect to 4G LTE Extender (s-off'd, unlocked bootloader, custom ROM), new phone can (stock)....unsure if any of the stuff I did to old phone caused this
My biggest concern is battery life. Anyone think that if I don't root and use Greenify and other tools to manage better battery, if battery would be a lot worse?
Thanks a ton in advance for any feedback!
