Most likely not going to work in Odin. Why are you wanting to go back?
Flash TWRP and you can still root OJ6 with Beastmode kernel. I believe you can still flash an OG5 custom ROM.
Edit: there was a user that reported in the OJ6 that Odin back to OG5 was possible. Did you try it?

The OJ6 update is OTA. If factory reset doesn't help, you could Odin OG5 and let it OTA update again.

Are you getting a failure in Odin or your phone when flashing Odin?
If it's just not booting, can you factory reset in recovery or try flashing TWRP and format data and try to boot.

Are you using Odin 3.10.7 or 3.10 series? Defaults are recommended.
You may get KIES to recover it if you Odin parts of the Odin tar extracted. Try stock recovery, and this modem below

Flash them twice with no auto reboot and USB and battery pull. Then try KIES to recover.

I don't believe that's necessary. To answer your recent question, Odin them separately.
So I researched another issue somewhat similar but this user claimed Odin was flashing but phone not booting. Basically, you could try the above first; if it doesn't work, you could try his steps but if Odin continues to fail, you'd have to find another way or wait on a tar. Sprint or Best Buy could try to flash it.

AP slot of Odin. Run it just like you would a full image in download mode. Uncheck auto reboot.
Edit: OK, I see now you should compress the recovery.img you extracted to .tar with 7zip to flash in Odin. (Add recovery.img to archive & change archive format to tar).
Edit 2: I tried this on my current setup with Odin 3.10.7 using OJ6 recovery.tar and Odin just sat there; nothing! Googled and found this batch script to convert the recovery.tar to recovery.tar.md5 and Odin flashed it; booted to stock recovery.

Are you seeing that in Odin or are you referring to a dialer code?
There's a long and short dialer code. One is to provision only; I think the other wipes data like a factory reset and provisions also but not sure.
If you see that in Odin, it may be like the above. I haven't looked, my daughter has the PC ATM.

I don't know what the heck to do from there! So, I just reboot the phone but don't get the update.
How do I accept the update on that TWR screen?

You have to be on a stock recovery to be able to flash OTA updates. You're going to have to reflash the stock recovery for your device. Try doing it through mobile odin and tell it to flash only the recovery partition.
Cheers!

Also where do I find the modem file? Thanks for any replies I have managed to restore the phone to stock and get it working and I am still rooted as well
If you are going to use mobile odin then use the tar. The exe is for your computer. Thr modems can be found in rwilcos website just got to look.

I was testing new roms and kernels on my SGH - T999L. I flashed LiquidSmooth and Ktoonsez kernel and I think I forgot to wipe cache and dalvik cache before rebooting. When I rebooted, my phone went into a bootloop. I cleared cache, cleared dalvik cache, fixed permissions, and flashed stock rom, but my phone is still in a bootloop. I have tried to restore my phone from nandroid backups, but apparently, clockwordmod recovery is unable to access any backups. I have heard people using abd(no idea what that is) or using odin to fix bootloop. Any suggestions? Am I most likely able to fix this?
I am able to reach the Samsung logo and the SGH - T999L logo before it boots again. It does not bootloop when I am in clockworkmod recovery.
Try a factory reset.
Otherwise can you boot into download mode? If so, flash the root66 firmware in Odin.

Yeah I looked it up on google and found out. Thanks for replying to my post.
I tried to flash the root66 file through odin but I got a fail error. Is there anything that I'm supposed to do before flashing it?
Update: After flashing the fully prerooted stock rom/kernel (I realized I only flashed the stock kernel previously, not the rom as well) I got it to boot up again. Thanks DocHoliday for your help truly appreciate it.
My phone keeps restarting into CWM no matter what I do. I already had it factory reset beforehand and now I'm wondering how to get it back to normal.
I don't have USB Debugging Enabled either (I remember turning it off for no apparent reason) so I don't know how to activate that either... when my phone only loops into CWM.
So.. what I remember doing accidentally was that I said yes to the following: "Root access possibly lost. Fix?" forgetting that I had a UN-ROOTED phone to begin with. So now that it fixed that Root access or whatever, I'm stuck into reloading this forever-loop-into-CWM.
Is there any possible solution to get me back on track..?

Hey gang, I'm stuck. I wanted to start my phone up back from stock to sell it to my friend and he wanted it not rooted. So I went to Odin and did all the steps correctly but it keeps failing. Ok last night I was able to use it and I did all the set up and even installed the update on my phone and now its on 4.3 over the air.
I wanted to put the S3Rx rom to show my friend what you can do with the phone but I can't install it because Odin keeps failing. The only thing I've noticed different was that the phone has now this "knox" app. I don't know if samsung made it harder to root your phone or what with this 4.3 upgrade.
Can someone help me solve this? what I want to do is just root my phone again. Any clues?

I don't know what you mean about cf-auto root. I even tried the other method up the installing the twrp.tar file and using Odin trying to flash the Knox removal zip, and nothing seems to work.
I don't understand I used to do this all the time and it never gave me problems. I used to do this to clean out my phone with so much junk that it was chewing up my storage space.
If all you want to do is remove Knox then flash a recovery with Odin, and flash a stock ROM like stockmod 4.3, its also pre-roooted.. You cannot do that with Odin
Edit: also if you ever want to restore to stock or use root66 you need to flash the 4.3 tar versions, nothing below or it will fail everytime.. Things changed with the 4.3 official update

I've never used TWRP. I don't even know how to get it. If I do go to Rom Manager it says "you must root your phone for Rom Manager to function. Superuser was not found at "/system/bin/su" or "/system/xbin/su".
thats what I get when I go into Rom Manager.
when I pick ClockworkMod Recovery it asks for either 2.x or 3.x+ I pick either one and it says that it has been set up to use your existing recovery installation. then I tap OK and when I get out of app and go back into it, it says there is an update available for CWM I click at it and then it does the installation at 100% then I get "an error occurred while trying to flash your recovery"
So basically I have no recovery that can flash any roms. I really appreciate your help and patience. I'm just going insane here I honestly believe its that upgrade I got OTA to 4.3 because all along before I had 4.1.2 and gave me no problems. I think what it was is that when I used Odin to unroot my phone I did all the installation to get back to stock, then I was wondering about updates so I went to the menu and tapped on the Software upgrade and then it was upgrading (500 and something megabytes) then it reboot and it was 4.3
