Hey guys, since a few days I have massive problems with syncing my device with google (contacts, calendar, emails). I used activesync with the snyc settings to m.google.com and suddenly it tries to sync always the entire content from new, every time stating that there are changes done on the server side which requires entire resync. does anybody have the same issues and a solution to that?
I could never get it working right. I use goosync (payservice).
I use this for contacts and calendar but couldn't get the email portion to work reliably. I use IMAP for gmail.
mine syncs fine.

same, works perfectly for me.
Although i only use google for calender and e-mail, i use dashwire to back up my contacts.
You have probably already tried it, but have you disabled all but one and checked it to see if you still have the same issue?
If it works properly with just e-mail for example, then add in calender and try it again. If it works then add contacts back in or if it breaks remove calender and try contacts instead.
Might help you track down whats causing the issue.
Just an idea.
Mine syncs fine as well. At first I had problems with syncing because I never set up a Calendar or Contacts with Google, so I unchecked everything except Mail. Try that.

Has anyone else noticed that they can't sync Google Gmail via Activesync over the past few days? At first I thought it was just me but soon came to find that the "Error Synchronization" message was being displayed on other Windows phones.
The official error code is 0x8600050c (Communications Error) and in looking over at Google Mobile's Help Forum, there are a few solutions available.
The first suggestion is to delete the current Exchange Server relationship and re-create it. Another solution suggests to un-check the email option in Activesync, reboot the phone, re-check the email option and sync. The latter seems to have the most success.
We couldn't find anything official from Google on the cause of these errors or of a "official" solution. If we hear of anything we'll pass it on.
you dont have tasks selected do you?
google sync is not up to snuff as it currently stands.
having tried it, doing this over & over:

Has been unacceptable.

Yes I agree, but to Google's defense, they say this is in Beta, but we are spoiled with great Google products so we are expecting too much. I do wish they would put more effort to it though, it has been like this since November when I tried it and I haven't seen anything improved in 3-4 months.

Oh don't think I am bagging google & all their great products & freebies.
But it just seem they set expectations so high, that they use the excuse of "beta" forever before releasing anything (witness gmail was an invite forever!).
I'm just spoiled!

I had the same problem a few days ago. I deleted the Exchange Server relationship and re-created it, and it's worked fine since. I've had similar problems periodically in the past - I chalk it up to it being a free service.
I got google sync to work, just got my touch pro2 on sunday. works with my main google calendar, saw a user around here recommend ActiveGCSync for additional google calendars, will try that tonight. The only problem I had is i initially synced all my gmail contacts to my phone (most without names or phone numbers), so then I unchecked 'contacts' thinking it would take them out, but instead it removed ALL the contacts from my phone But now all my phone contacts are backed up in my gmail I guess I will have to clean up the mess manually and sync them back up...
I spent a good part of my day so far editing all my gmail contacts and merging duplicates and the last tihng I did was set up a bunch of new 'groups' under the contacts in gmail. I was hoping that after I sync'd back up that I would be able to use the google created contact groups as a means of filtering my contact list, but this seems not to be the case.
From searching around here I ran across a program called 'Seven' and others, which I will explore if there isn't another way. But I was hoping someone could give me some ideas other than individually editing the "Category" of each contact, which seems to be the field which it looks at for "Filter" under the menu soft key.
Thanks
I use Seven Beta to sync all my mail accs. On creation gives me the option for sync of contacts and calendar as well. Everything works great.

Do you sync google contacts that you have put into groups, and then can you use the TouchFlo contact list to filter them by those groups?
Help: VZW Galaxy Nexus Contacts and Gmail "Sync is currently experiencing problems"
My new nexus will not sync contacts or gmail. I get the error "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly." I have tried clearing the cache on both apps and restarting the phone, but the error reoccurs. It has synced some contacts (58 of 141). But the error remains, and the rest of the contacts do not appear, even after choosing to display "all contacts".
Can anyone help?

I'm seeing the same thing, though it's only affecting my synched bookmarks. If you go into settings > Accounts & Sync, it'll have an exclamation by the problem child/children. Uncheck whatevers not working and your contacts should finish in theory. I was able to get all my contacts.
Last time I restarted after a cache wipe, contacts gave the error, but gmail synced for a long time before giving the error. This time, contacts again errored right away, but gmail is still syncing. I'm hoping it will finish this time, and then I'll work on getting the contacts to sync.
I've checked the syncing on my other android devices and there are no problems there, so I don't think it's a problem with the servers.
I actually had the same problem when I wiped my touchpad last night. unchecked and rechecked and it started working again.
Well I hope it's temporary, but I'd really like to get it fixed. Does anyone know how long it usually takes to sync gmail? It's been going for over 30 minutes now.
Bump for a fast board, I still need help with this. I just formatted the cache in recovery and the problem came back immediately.
Edit: I deleted my google account and readded it and it seems to be working, sorry for the bump. I hope this helps someone else.
Unfortunately mine is still broken and I've tried everything. Adding it back in doesn't help. I'm using "[email protected] and my email will not synch even though others do. I have other gmail accounts that are synching just fine. What's up Google??? Man this is frustrating; the email account I actually need most is not working.
I just got my wife a Nexus, and I have been getting the sync error, along with a pop-up saying "unfortunately contacts have stopped working". Gmail is working fine, it's just contacts. This started happening after unlocking, rooting, and installing Codename ROM. I'm running Codename on my Nexus without problems. I unrooted, and relocked hers, and it seemed to be fine. Went back to unlocked, rooted, and Codename, and the problem came back. I'm going to try the previous versions of Codename, and Nova Launcher to see if it makes a difference, but if anyone has any more info about this, I'd like to hear about it.
Thanks
Not sure if anyone else is having problems in ICS builds with google calendar sync but I found a solution that worked for me. I tried different apks with no luck the problem it seems is that the ICS calendar has trouble displaying certain recurring events that GB seemed to handle fine for me. After exporting my google calendar, deleting the calendar, and then importing the saved file back into google calendar I was finally able to get ICS calendar to sync. Google how to import and export google calendar if you don't already know how, it's quite simple. If this doesn't work you can try deleting reoccurring events till you find the one causing the sync error.

Export import solved the problem!!

ICS with Exchange
I am facing the same problem with my exchange calendar sync. Do you think this solution would work for this as well?
There's an app for it
I had this issue after updating my Galaxy Note to ICS 4.0.3. Calendar sync caused forced close and no data was synced. Tried deleting my corporate google account from the phone and re-adding it (my personal account synced just fine).
Bought an app called CalenGoo for less than EUR5 after confirming with the very helpful dev that it is not reliant on the defective ICS sync engine. Got everything up and running in seconds!
On other suggested "solutions" found on forums: 1) Not intrigued to factory reset the phone and restore all apps and lose their settings etc. while there is no guarantee that it would do any good. 2) Deleting recurring events (weekly meetings with colleagues etc) is simply not something anyone who uses their Google calendar for anything serious is going to do. And again no guarantee that adding the meetings again would not just cause the same problem. Rather buy a phone that works. It is ridiculous that Google/Samsung would release this kind of defective crap, and makes you think what else might be wrong with ICS if QA is this bad.
Another Fix - Change/Delete Daily Recurring events with Every Weekday Selected

I was having this Google calendar sync error constantly on my Samsung Galaxy S3 and Asus Transformer TF101 tablet. I used ALOGCAT to pinpoint the root cause although it was misleading because the log said "Weekly" recurring event when it was actually a "Daily" recurring event with "Every Weekday" checked. If I deleted these entries or changed it to a Weekly event and picked each weekday specifically, the sync errors stopped. Here's more detail on my approach. I use Gsyncit to sync between my work pc Outlook account and my Google calendar. Then I use the normal sync apps on the phone and tablet. As part of my troubleshooting I had deleted all my Google calendar entries, then reloaded the events from Outlook to Google (one way). I still was getting the sync error until I located and changed the offending recurring events. I also removed my Google accounts from my phone and tablet to force them both to load all the recreated Google appointments from scratch. This may have been overkill. Try removing or changing the Daily (Every Weekday) recurring events, first, before wiping your calendars like I did. If doing just that works for you, it will save you a lot of time.

I have solved same problem by clear data of "calendar storage" apk in application manager. then sync with Google account.
Hi, I just recently purchased the HTC One from Verizon and everything seems to be working fine, except the Facebook blinkfeed. When I go to use my Facebook account my contacts and live feed sync okay but my calendar doesn't. It says that sync is currently available and to try again, and I also get authorization problem at the top of the screen. Well if I drop down the menu and click on the authorization problem, it tries to bring up facebook for a second and then close out. I then had a friend try his Facebook account and everything works fine, no issues with Facebook syncing and his posts from Facebook shows up on the main blinkfeed. So what am I overlooking here? I went into the local verizon to see if it was just my phone that might be bad, but I tried syncing up my facebook at the store and it also had the same issues.
I've tried removing my account, changing passwords, changing my email address I use to log in, I even done a factory reset with data wipe nothing works. Hopefully someone here might have experienced the same issue and knows where to try to fix it.
Thanks..
Hello everyone,
My device is G4, LG-H815 variant and it's updated to Android 5.1, not rooted. My problem: there seems to be no way to import Facebook contacts to contacts list.
I have migrated all my settings and apps from my G3 using LG Backup successfully. The Facebook and Messenger apps work fine, show all my contacts, and are configured to sync contacts. I have also gone into Contacts settings and made sure Facebook sync is enabled. But no matter how long I wait (1 day), only my Gmail contacts show. There also seems to be no syncing option for Messenger.
Things I've tried to no avail:
- rebooting
- reinstalling Facebook and Messenger app and configuring them from a scratch
- restarting Contacts app
- unsyncing and syncing again
- removing my Facebook account and adding it again

I always turned Facebook sync off, I never use it [emoji14], but I'll try to give you some suggestions.
1. have you tried setting Contact to display in contact app settings to All contacts?
2. is the contact sync in the Facebook app settings turned on for all contact?
that's as far as I know in android syncing. if it doesn't work, maybe the other could help you. sorry!

Thank god I'm not the only one with this issue!! I thought I was going mad. I just got this phone & not used to LG phones.
Okay, so I haven't done as much as you, I have uninstalled/reinstalled fb and msngr though & still nothing. When I select to see only fb or msngr contacts it shows none, only myself.
I'm slowly losing hope to see a resolution as this is the first post I've seen with this issue!
I will keep checking this thread Thanks for posting

I feel just the same. I can confirm than syncing worked just fine on my LG G3. With G4, it looks just like the Contacts app doesn't see my Facebook account for some reason, regardless of the settings.
Same thing is happening to me... Any of you with this problem have a second phone? I have an s6 with no sync problems for work in addition to my g4. My only possible thought is some how that is affecting my lg...? Hopefully someone figures this out ASAP
Been talking to UK LG Mobile Support today, their advice is to enable syncing from Facebook app's settings. When told that this didn't work for me, they said they're not aware of anybody having this issue. So, has anybody solved this yet?
Alright, here's the reason behind the problem:
Apparently Facebook no longer supports syncing for Android devices. Just like that. As confirmed by Facebook itself under a link I can't post.

Hey there,
Poked around a bit more...not sure that is true. Seems like a lot of internet BS generated from frustrated people with the same problem we are having. There are no concrete facts from Facebook or Google that currently support that theory.
On another note, this problem started happening on my G4 about two weeks ago, at which time it was synced to my facebook contacts prior...so, it may be possible a software update was pushed and this functionality was not carried over?
My current workaround (i'm not giving up on this, don't worry)...buy/borrow an older android device from a friend or off CL, sync your facebook, manually program the names of the contacts you need from facebook sync on that phone to your G4...I already tried exporting the CSV from my work phone to my G4 with no luck of carrying over my facebook contacts.

I spent three awesome hours last night pretending like it was 2002 and manually copying numbers from my work phone to my new phone since it is still sync'd with facebook...at least now they are permanently in my google account
Had the same issue. I uninstalled the FB updates to factory. Re-syncedb and set Facebook to manual updates.
Hi!
I know this post is relatively old, but I recently purchased the LG G4 Vigor. While at the Kiosk of my service provider, they transferred all my contacts for me. Bad idea!!! I spent the last two days trying to figure out why my Facebook contacts would not transfer. Furthermore, all the addresses were not transferred at all. So, I worked hard to find the problem. I simply had to Reset Factory data! . For some reason, when they transferred my contacts, it was interrupting the Facebook contacts from transferring. Before doing so, make sure you save all info on your SD card. I took out my SD card, for good safety measure. After the Reset, do not install the SD card right away. Open Facebook and go through login etc., then in your phone contacts settings, accounts & sync, add Facebook, then go to "contacts to display", click all contacts. Check your contacts folder to be sure. Do this before transferring your data from your SD card. Unfortunately, you will have to go through and delete those contacts, from FB, you don't want. At least they are all there, with picture and info! Hope this helps!!!
