Since HTC wants any sale they can can get, VZW would have no problem getting the 64GB version of the One. Why is it VZW does not offer this like AT&T? With no sd slot, a 64GB seems the best option for non cloud liking, app & media buffs. It took a few months of customer heat before VZW relented in offering the 32GB S4.
because ATT has exclusivity on the 64gb
Such an arrangement for a OEM that needs sales volume seems odd. Is this confirmed? The same was said on the 32GB S4, but was never confirmed though assumed. I could "buy" that one, since Samsung is not exactly hard-up for sales volume. HTC very much is at the moment.

As it has been said many times over the years, vzw doesn't give a damn about app buffs and modders like us.
Sent from my 4G LTE HTC One
I just ordered mine in Charcoal, but White seems to be available, after it was said to be coming later. I have a tentative ship date of 11/13.
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
I'm still hold it not ordering the Note 4 to see Note Edge. Now i'm not sure if $100 extra worth it for the small curve screen. Stop by couple ATT store today but none of them have the Note Edge display model
Also kind of waiting for the ATT Note 4 to have root
When both phones were announced the Edge appealed to me because it was so different. I decided against it for a couple of reasons.
Price. It's the same as the Note 4 so you're literally paying for the "edge."
Awkwardness. Cases, docks, covers, and GPS mounts are going to be odd and not optimized for the display. I use a car mount and can imagine how goofy the Edge will look in it.
Updates. Samsung has terrible track record of updating their "limited availability" devices; even worse than their mainstream devices. Add AT&T to the mix and it's scary.
Software. There's a nifty API developers can take advantage of to maximize the Edge's "edge." How many will with so few sold? And regular apps are going to look funny on an unbalanced display - "flat" on the left side, "shiny curved black border" on the right.
People should buy what makes them happy but, for me, this is the first time in my mobile device purchase history I went practical (Note 4) over intriguing (Edge).

Wholeheartedly agree! I was so psyched to learn about it at first but upon reading about the device, all of your points quickly became apparent to me as well. One thing DEFINITELY worth mentioning is the different materials used, plastic-based over metal-based was the biggest drawback to me. I believe originally it was $50 more as well.
I'll probably trade my note 4 plus boot off for one

I totally agree with you. I'm getting one, but it's foolish not to consider all of your points before deciding if this is for you. I have had the first 3 Notes and honestly the Note 4 did not excite me. The 2 phones that excite me are the Edge and the Nexus 6. But I can't live with a 64gb phone with no removable battery and no card support. So that leaves the Edge. I'm keeping my Note 3 and trying out the Edge. If it doesn't work out, I'll trade it or return it.

There probably wasn't much there to begin with. It's more likely "limited supply" rather than "massive demand" that led to a sell out.
I wonder if AT&T will let people trade in the Note 4 for the Note Edge???

As long as the phone is in their system then you should be able to trade it in.

I'm still a bit unsure if I will like the Note Edge, but I figured I would try it. In the store they said I could trade in my online purchased Edge in store for the Note 4 if its within the 14 days for a $35.00 restocking fee. So if it's been within 14 days I don't see the issue.
And if your on AT&T next, you could probably pay out the remainder if you've had it longer then 14 days, and upgrade with nothing down but taxes.
My note edge will be here on the 23rd or maybe sooner can't wait for this awesome device.
If you pay the remaining amount for the Note 4, then wouldn't the trade in value be maximum $300 from AT&T?

If you pay the remained and then upgrade, you do not give them back the Note 4, you would then go sell the Note 4 and cut your losses I guess is what he is saying. I am within my 14 days by a lot still so personally I am thinking about going in and giving them this Note 4 back , eating the 35 dollar restock fee and then getting a N6 and paying 8 dollars less a month. My reasoning is just I cannot have an Android device without root.
You might as well purchase the device for the Retail price

really ? it looks odd , geeks like me will love it
I can handle the extra lag going from Nexus 5 to touchwiz but I had to return my edge because of the lag opening folders/apps from the edge panel. It drove me freaking nuts.
Just ordered mine from ATT today, should be here sometime this week, excited! Like someone said before, I got it because it's different, smartphones are all getting to be about the same these days, and my rooted Note 2 was still working well for me, did everything I wanted and needed, really had no incentive to upgrade until I saw the Edge!
Just got my Edge in the mail today! But not opening it til Christmas. For one, I feel bad having a new phone while my wife still has a old one (ill be getting her a iPhone 6) and for two, im probably get nothing for Christmas, this will be my only present
Do you think they will actually offer the buy one get one promotion for the Note 7? Leakster Evan Blass said they would.

Not until sales slow down, I don't think sales will be as good as the s7 and edge
Friend/manager at t-mobile said he was given an outline for three months and they didn't mention anything of the sort for the note7. Im stumped.
ATT is doing this right now, not sure if its for new customers or just for buying a Note 7. The wife and I just did this yesterday, we are leaving tmobile and doing the direct tv to get the unlimited data. ATT is not advertising this deal for some reason but if you go to a store they will fill you in.
So far Target seems to have the best deal. Buy N7 get $200 if you trade in any working device, $100 gift card and a free gear device.

I'm very confident once iPhone 7 will be released or right before we will see all the BOGO deals for note 7. Knowing Samsung and how competitive they get.
Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
Last time on the S7 release we didn't find out about the BOGO deal until right after the phone was released. People who pre ordered were not happy but I remember someone saying on XDA that he went back to the store with his phone that he pre ordered and they let him get the BOGO deal.
I want to pre order and get the SD card but i don't want to miss out on the BOGO. But if they don't have the BOGO I'll miss out on the SD card too.

Does your friend at T-Mobile always know about these deals ahead of time? At the T-Mobile store an associate told me that they only find out about the deals the day before. But he was just an associate. Ask your friend if there is a chance of a deal that they are not yet telling him. I imagine they would want to keep that as secret as possible because if everyone knew they are having a BOGO deal after launch I'm sure that would hurt pre-order sales.

That makes a lot of sense. The iPhone is supposed to launch in September and the Note 7 Launches in late August so it would make sense for them to offer the BOGO right after launch or within a couple weeks after.
I got a pair of Note 7s BOGO. T-Mobile dropped the ball and is making it up to me.
I highly doubt we will see a BOGO deal anytime soon. Especially with how well pre-order sales have been doing. Unless they start slowing down on sales, and if the iPhone 7 is something amazing to compete with, then maybe we will see a good deal. Otherwise, if sales are consistently hi and the iPhone 7 happens to be a flop, Samsung will pick up all the converters moving from iOS to Android.

Didn't hear about that. When was it?
The bogo last sat was for everything but note 7
I spoke to the head of loyalty and was informed there was a one day BOGO event on THE NOTE 7. He was able to get me a BOGO deal for some mess ups on my acct.
---------- Post added at 01:09 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:06 AM ----------
I know which event you are talking about because I got my s7 edge on BOGO as well. Could have got a tablet as well today, I'll see if it's worth the extra $10×24 commitment.
10 X 24 is only $240.... I'm sure you could easily sell a note 7 for $600..... A freebie is free $.
I got one note for free. The tablet was free with a 24×$10 commitment, sorry for the confusion.
Dayum... that sounds even better

I can confirm, I was this close -----> | | <------ to doing it with the same Direct TV/unlimited data on 4 lines deal. I had 2 note 7's and 2 iPhone 6s's on BOGO, and would've had to pay the taxes had I signed up.
But I didn't. So there's that.
Does anyone in the community reading this know someone at T-Mobile that can give you a little inside information that can be shared here?

Hey
So I have tmobile jump on demand, got the s7 edge like 4 months ago and it's a beast of a phone. Wondering what your guys opinion is if it's worth getting the note 7
Sadly I don't think it's much of an upgrade from s7 edge
But i still couldn't resist pre ordering it. I have the s7 edge will let it go to my Mrs and sell her s6 edge plus
Still can't wait till it gets delivered lol

If you have JOD, why wouldn't you do it? T-Mobile will do it for $70. I have one more JOD, for this year, and I'll probably do it once more. I love the S7 edge and getting a new Note 7 @ $900 for so little means I'll love this one too.

I still have to pay a down payment? When I got JOD for the edge, rep said I only pay down payment once and whenever I upgrade to something else, I don't need to pay my down or tax anymore
I'm also a JOD customer, and when I originally pre-ordered the phone it was with a $70 dollar deposit. Long story short I had to upgrade to an S7 Edge when my note 5 stopped charging and i was headed out of town and needed the phone. That included cancelling the pre-order.
When I called back, I was told that exact thing. As a JOD customer, I don't have to pay the down payment. I honestly asked to go back to the $70 down to lower the monthly and they said it wasn't possible anymore for JOD. So maybe he/she did it before they came out with the updated pricing for JOD customers.
Now, all that being said. I've had the s7 for about a week and a half and do love the phone but am missing the stylus as I've been an avid note user since my first Note 3. My fiance was originally going to do the Note 7 but she liked the phone I have so much she's going to go for the s7 Edge instead. I'm definitely upgrading because of the stylus, slightly larger screen, and iris scanning. And, I'm actually surprised to be looking forward to the Edge screen because I wasn't sure I'd even like it coming from the Note 5.

Yea i called tmobile and they said i had to pay a 70 downpayment and if i dont, my monthly payment is 38$ which is absurd. I was under the impression that when i'm on JOD, i could get the phone at their regular monthly pricing without paying the down, otherwise not worth it
Note5 here... Its pretty much the same thing... A bit faster, a bit better camera, a bit bigger battery and a screen that's a bit curvy-er

Yeah it's worth the upgrade the note is actually a computer and has a lot more access you need MSN Excel PowerPoint all of the above.. ... .z. . x.... .
Over on android forum a guy just pasted a price of £740 on release in the UK. Lol
If I sell my S7E I probably would have to stump up another 300 quid for the addition of a pen.
I'll enjoy my superb Edge a little longer until prices have dropped ... or the S8 is announced .
Motorola V20 might be interesting too.
Not until they fix the awful memory management, if any.
Coming from Note 4 or 5, probably yes, from s7e u probably better wait for V20 or any other phone.
IMHO these questions are ones that only You can answer.
From what device you are upgrading from? what you want from phone? Which values you more, Note 7 or the money you need to use for it.. And so on.
S7 Edge Exynos user here,
I was expecting to buy the Note 7 in launch but it is not offering enough reasons to make a switch. First and most important of all, i wanted to get rid of EDGED curvy display but it is still there in note7. The cpu/gpu and ram is the same.Camera havent changed. I dont find spen any use. Unless they release a Note 7 with flat screen, exynos 8893 and 6gb of ram, better and higher mp camera, i will wait for S8 to be released. Hopefully they would release the S8 with 5.5inch flat display.
I think it's worth it but you need to really take a close look at what you use your phone for/want to use your phone for. I think the Note 7 has a lot to offer if you plan to use it in a certain way (basic example: would you use a stylus?).
Anyone remember part of the pre-order offer where one of the things we got was a once a year free screen replacement? I distinctly remember this being part of the pre-order offer, yet I am having a hard time finding this info online. I AM finding info that there was going to be such an offer - this was in the various media articles telling us what the pre-order offers would be. But I can't find anywhere where someone has actually used this service which was supposed to be there if you preordered either the S8 or S8+ (I actually got both).
Yes, I dropped my phone and for the first time in about 4 years I have a device with a broken screen. It hit on the bottom of the curved edge on the right side - the absolute worst place to hit, on the curved edge. I had it in a pretty stout case, full wrap around flip cover case that covered the entire display, front back and sides. Still wasn't enough and the fall was about 3'....
Anyway, I contacted Samsung and they seem to acknowledge that there was such an offering, but that it was through Verizon and I needed to contact them. I contacted Verizon, and they also seemed to acknowledge that there was such a pre-order offer, but that I needed to go into a Verizon location to get it taken care of. I emailed copies of both chat sessions to myself just in case.
I feel that in the Verizon chat session the person was trying fairly hard not to come right out and say my phone would be covered for such a replacement (I realize they would probably just send a refurb instead of fix my S8+) phone. I do have assurian through VZ, but the deductible of $150 bites. So if anyone else can chime in that has used this once a year free display replacement and/or give further info/evidence that I can bring in to VZ when I visit them today that would be a GREAT help!
TIA!
I don't remember anything specific to screen replacement for the S8 preorder, although I believe you got one free month of Samsung premium care, which is pretty much insurance through samsung with a deductible and all (I believe the actual servicer of it is also Asurant). It is also possible that you are mixing Samsung up with other phones, as I believe HTC had the program you are mentioning.
Either way let us know how it goes.
Thanks for the reply!
I am not mixing this up for offers on other phones. First of all, I have not looked into pre ordering any other phones, ever, except for the Note 7 and the S8+. I did talk to a VZ rep on the phone in person before pre-ordering, and they told me about that added benefit of the once a year display replacement with the pre-order offer and gave me a web link where I then also saw the offer (that pre-order web link is long gone, I have looked for it). It was actually this part of the pre-order offer that made me pull the trigger - getting a free display replacement once a year. I am simply trying to have my ducks in a row before I go in to a VZ store to get this handled as they will likely try to make me use my insurance (which is ridiculously overpriced) and the $150 deductible to boot. And yes, I am aware of the one month free of samsung premium care, this was a different coverage than samsung premium care.
I will update how this goes once I go in to a VZ store. Was going to go today but don't have all the info in hand that I want to have when I go in.
Thanks again for your reply!
Update - neither VZ nor Samsung would honor the pre order offer. Samsung DID acknowledge that it was part of the pre order offer but said the carrier has to honor it, not Samsung. Seems wrong, but I am tired of haggling over it. So I did the Asurion warranty replacement routine - but of course the S8+ is out of stock.... good thing my phone still works!
On a side note, I went ahead and pre ordered the Note 8. Since I was a Note 7 owner (still am actually) I took advantage of the $425 discount off the total for the Note 8. I got the 256gb micro SD and wireless charging dock bundle as my pre order gift. So the Note 8 will cost me $535 on a 24 month zero interest payment plan. I also signed up for Samsung premium care. It is a couple dollars more a month than Asurion, but overall I feel it is a better insurance coverage. The first two months are free with the pre order also.
