Best setup/ROM for battery ? - ZenFone 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've been using RR for 3,4 days now and noticed the battery life is worse than stock.
I tried flashing some kernels but they gimme some strange bugs like in " deadly " the battery bar shows + sign in the circle and the percent was 4668% or something.
Now is there any setup for better battery life or any other custom rom except stock ?

use stock base custom rom and flash project T oc/uc karnel..... then u can under clock ur cpu to 333mhz by using karnel auditor application..... u can find karnel auditor in play store.... it will surely help ur battery life....

Am i suffering from battery drain ? schedulers?

Hi all
i just changed my rom from PA 2.22 to xylon 006 and i think i am suffering from some battery drain issue but i am not very sure ...
first off when i was using PA i am able to get about 18 hours of battery with 3 hours of screen time ( about 100% - 10% ) on stock PA kernel by the way , while on xylon my battery life is11 hours and 30 minutes with 2 hours of screen time ( 100% - 0% ) on Trinity kernel 1420 - 384
( stock/ franco kernel creates a yellowish screen on my phone whereas trinity kernel fixes it ) i heard 4.2 have some issues with battery and i am not really complaining just trying to make sure , oh i just bough setcpu from playstore and i realized i can change the scheduler ( noop , deadline etc ) and some weird stuff called interactive , ondemand etc ..so should i meddle with it ? how should i tweak it to get maximum battery life?
While i am on Trinity on dark PA 4.1.2, I know the kernel has some problems for now with 4.2 so i suggest you try Franco and install Trickster MOD app from the play store. Its free.
When installed, just apply the Trinity colors in screen section. Voilà!
Or reflash Xylon twice then the kernel. This might not be the kernel fault. Could be one gapp sucking all the juice... have you installed spyCPU and better battery stats to see which app was running?

kays thanks for the great advice downloading the app now! still what is the difference between franco and trinity kernel?

at the moment i use the android revolution hd 6.0 rom with a perseus 29.1 kernel. the battery drain is 1,5%/h (betterbatterystats: 2d 42m battery 25%) and the cpu setting is stock. i will see if it change after the next charging.
i already downloaded the redpill rev1.00 kernel and i want to test it the next time.
unfortunately i've got some l2_hsic wakelocks with the perseus kernel (2h in 2 days) and will see what happens with the redpill kernel.

ROM and Kernel have only a small effect on battery life. The main culprits are processes that wake the phone up from deep sleep and engage the CPU or data transmittion.
When I lowered all auto-update intervals of apps from once-per-30-minutes to once-per-4 hours, my battery life nearly doubled itself.
i presume that you already disabled/lowered these "useful" things to improve your batterylife.
i don't play games on my cellphone, just some surfing and calling on viber (2-3h per day) however my battery lasts longer compared to the stock rom.

Most used (rom-kernel)

just a poll to know what is the most common rom and kernel ...
the poll is going to be about kernels as there is alot of roms so a i will leave it to discussion
i don't want it to be which is best but more of which is popular and may be a couple words about it's adv. disadv.
i am using Perseus kernel .... dunno just felt its good .. other kernel distort my speaker
stock deodex sammy rom .. (couple visual mods and full screan caller + extended power menu )
Perseus kernel... Crash rom.. Simplistic framework.. Xposed framework.. Twrp recovery.. Overclock at 1800 Mhz.. But sometimes auto restart and and the whole system not responding .. Still don't know why, may be due to Overclocking..Is it due to Kernel fault?

I usually use Perseus. Had my note for 5-6 weeks, tried 6 ROMs so far. Most impressed WITH (and still using) X-Note 3.2. Total ROM size is 350 MB so its stripped down with the good Samsung apps left in. S Note is offered as seperate 100 MB zip to flash if you choose.
Subtly and elegantly themed, not jazzy or flashy - more like understated black and grey tones. Includes xposed plus some nice mods e.g. transparent status bar etc and boots at 260 DPI which is so much better than stock 320.
ROM comes bundled with Wanam Adam kernel
Well, there's my 2 cents
Well, Perseus kernel for me because of AMOLED color profile and Wolfson sound options in STweaks app.
Phoenix rom since it nicely integrates Xposed and 240dpi mod @ install time (along with a lot of mods in Aroma Installer) along with Internal / Externa SD switch. It was nice to clean everything then install system without any strange operations afterwards.
Now overclocked / undervolted (a lot) and customized with Xposed modules and very happy with it. Haven't had an error or reboot in 3 weeks despite 1.8Ghz CPU and 733 GPU OC.
Battery is great with Perseus, easily 7-8 hours of screen on time over 48-60 hours between charging.
after using antutu (for the first time) i got strange results
sammy rom with perseus oc to 1.8 and under volted a little ..i get about around 9500 ..
same rom with adam kernel 1.6 under volted i got 14680
flashed couple aosp roms .. got 17800 and 16900 ...
so what am doing wrong ?
I'm in Love with Redpill Kernel.. it gave me great antutu score and great experience
i want to know the best rom\kernel combo that make a good benchmark score ..??
anybody got an answer

I would love to help you, but help yourself first: ask a better question

tried saber recently and i got very good performance .. but i like Perseus controls more especially audio
Omega ROM v18 .NEAk kernal very li8 and no lagging. including Wolfson audio controle ...The best part MULTI CORE MANAGER for naormal usage and awsome for GAMING
Big fan of xnote and perseus combination. Now switched to assassins batterylife breathtakingly amazing and redpill... For better sound control and more undervolting compared to perseus.
For those of you running TouchWiz ROM and hasn't update FW since March, then TerraBuzz is the answer for your kernel. Only screen got above 30%, android os, android system, etc. is below 15% with this kernel.
is it possible to combine multiple options in one kernel .. that would be gr8 ..
for my personal preference ..
1- 100 mhz step in saber
2- screen mods in perseuse
3- audio controls in stweaks of red pill and perseus with the gui of trickster
4- the zzmoove governer of saber give me good battery life with light to normal usage ... which is gr8
wanna know your thoughts .. and if that's even possible
First and only custom kernel I installed: N.E.A.K.
Needed Wolfson chip control, it provides. Also, great battery life!
Using CyanogenMod 10.2 nightly with its kernel... No problems at all, even battery is very good for me.

Best kernel regarding speed & battery life?

There are a bunch out there with elementalx being the most acyive one discussed in the Forums.
What do you think? Which is the best kernel together with stock rom regarding speed and battery life?
(Speed = snappyness while using the phone, not fps numbers in heavy games.)

Depends on the settings you use and how you use the phone.

Ofcourse my question is when comparing to stock kernel.

You are better off giving one a spin and making your own mind up
If someone has tested both the stock kernel and a custom kernel i would very much like to hear their opinion between these when it comes to overall speed and battery life.

i think stock is the best .
I tried :-
1) [KERNEL] [blu_sp rk r162] - No luck , WiFi doesnt turn on . Even tried reflasing stock rom and all possible fixes .
2) elementalx . Overnight drain is pretty impressive its just 4%.
But the active hours stats doesn't look that good. No audio mods , I really wanted to bump up my headset volume.
might go back to stock kernel by today evening.
Elementalx

Elemental kernel is good for standyby times if you arent a heavy user. As on my usage i got around 4 hours of SOT with my usage but stock gave me around 5 hours..!!
So as of now stock is way better
Well flash the different kernel and play with settings if u want and see which kernel suits u. Comparison with different roms and kernels are not allowed in XDA. They are best in their own way

R162 ?? the latest is R73 and wifi is working fine on bluspark
btw if you want audio mod, you can try DolbyAtmos Mod on top of your elemental. It kick the audio pretty nicely
Headphone gain is back .
Headphone gain is back on EX .

I use OOS 4.1.6 With ElementalX 3.0.5 Running for a while now battery good for my usage no lags and stutter is to a minimal
Battery life is very subjective to your usage e.g. Rogue apps in back ground, Cellular signal. WiFi etc etc
Best thing to do if you don't mind restoring every now and then is to try different setups Roms/Kernels and see which works best for you

Open Beta I'd go with Dorimanx or Bluspark
Stock you can use Elemental X, Dorimanx, Franco, Boeffla, Bluspark.
All of them give better battery life than stock kernel its more of a problem of what mix of features you want, try them all and come up with your favorite. My usage will not be the same neither will my preferences, so test and decide.
Bluspark, eng.stk does an amazing job
But which kernel works with ambient display 2 of ob19/20?
I think none support the double tap to wake feature in notifications. I have to wait for the notification to go away and screen to switch off. Then double tap to wake works.
I like blu but dude get flashing like crazy, Franco is great also
