I might not be alone... - Verizon LG G4

Just got tired of the slow internet over wifi and the frequent screen unresponsiveness and picked up a used but in excellent condition LG G3 (which was my old phone BtW) out of craiglist and I am a happy camper again. I will keep my G4 as a back up phone now. Any one else in my situation?

I wonder if your phone has the same sprint issues. All Sprint G4's were put on hold for sale and they have orders to replace with no fees.
Lagging, I think is one of the symptoms. But the classic symptom is boot loops.
Anything built before September has the issues. But supposedly only Sprint version is affected, which seems really weird.

The g3 is a great phone! I still don't know why I even upgraded to the g4. I miss my g3

I have the bootloop issue from time to time vs986

Bootloop issue? My VS986 verizon model never bootlooped. First I heard of it.
On subject, I kinda miss my LG G2. It was a solid phone. All of the little quirks that the G2 had that MADE ME UPGRADE are still in the LG G4 (random ghost LED notification, crashing keyboard, etc). It is frustrating. I upgraded to get rid of those problems only to find them in the G4, plus the G4 adds touchscreen issues. Also the G2 supposedly has dual cellular antennas to allow Calls and Data at the same time WITHOUT the need for Advanced Calling options turned on (which forces calls over LTE that digitizes and creates echoes and latency). So on the G4... I can't be on a conference call while getting emails or texts.
The LG G2 and G4 "feel" like the same phone, except the G4 has a noticeably better camera quality and slightly different physical feels (G4 is bigger). I don't regret my upgrade because, hell the G2 was an awesome phone. Outside of the occasional input touchscreen issues, I am happy. I never owned a G3 but whatever floats your boat. Most of the problems have been fixed already. I still get the occasional Ghost LED notification.

I find my self wanting to go back to my old G2.... In all honesty the G2 brought LG back onto the map..
People were expecting how the G2 was going to make a better successor due to how high it was held in regard. I think if LG hadn't made the G3 so large that it could have improved even further.
I hope they made a high end 5.2 inch phone again :/ tired of the large 5.5 inch phones and getting issues

Nexus 5X?

The antenna is at the top of the phone
Holding it sideways, your hand on it, and bye bye signal

All phones have this issue with Antennas. The Antennas are in the phone, so somehow or another, holding it a certain way will hinder service. However I never had wireless issues.

Switching from HTC One

Who here switched from HTC One to the Optimus G pro and didnt wanna look back?
Ive had my HTC One since AT&T first got it and had a charger port issue on it and they replaced it and each replacement after my 1st one which had the charger port issue has been crap, I have had 4 htc ones in less than a week from warranty all have had build quility issues. well I`m gonna pick me up a Optimus G Pro today.
I have 3 issues I`m afraid though.
1. Is afriad it will be too big. I owned the Note 1 forever and the Note 2 for several months but I havent had the note 2 since march or april.
2. Wifi Tethering I have the unlimated plan and there doesnt seem to be an international rom I can just flash like I did on my HTC One
3. AT&T`s 4G data indicater! I cant stand it! I`d perfer it to be 3G,H,H+, 4G, or LTE Not 4G or 4GLTE I hate it anyway to change that? On HTC I had to change the CID. On Samsung I just had to change the build Prop.
@hyelton,
Size won't be an issue. Its surprisingly comfortable to hold. I've had the Note 2 and One. You won't really know the difference in size. Looks big doesn't feel like it.
As for tethering and data icon....development is in progress so you May get your wishes granted soon.

Actually the tethering is already working, there's a whole thread on it in the General section.
This phone is great, probably the best choice I've ever made. I have the 5gb ATT plan so WiFi tethering wasn't a big deal for me.

just unboxed it gotta get a case and screen protector online now store had nothing.
Think Im GONNA LOVE THIS PHONE!!!!!! Rooted and got into the build prop changed a few things and was sadly disappointed that changing those few things didnt give me tethering nor did it change the signal bars and data icons to international, But... I did a reset on the phone and BAM the build prop changes took affect! Awesome!
I know have Network Selection Mobile Networks to change to WCDMA Only, GSM, and LTE only !
I know have 4 total Signal Bars Like the Korean version and same goes for the data indicators I now see 3G at the top!
and Tethering works without having to do that SQL script or whatever it is.
Edit..found it, never mind
Thanks
Never owned the HTC One, but did quite a bit of research into it before I ended up going with the G Pro. I'll admit that having owned the original Note is what drew me to the G Pro, but there are other reasons I believe it is a superior phone.
From the moment I bought it, I've loved every aspect of it, from its size, to build quality, to performance, to stock Rom, to features, etc. The QRemote app is awesome, the LED-laced home button is even more awesome, the camera takes excellent pictures and video, the "plastic" construction feels like a whole new type of material after coming from Samsung devices; it feels very secure (as long as you don't need to constantly remove the back cover). Battery life is great too.
A few things you have to get used to though:
"Temperature" issues. It doesn't get hot, per say, but it has a built-in safeguard that turns the screen brightness down during any kind of resource-intensive activity, like GPS usage, game playing, or video watching, and good luck turning the brightness way up while doing that (there are ways of disabling this safeguard, but I personally trust the engineers that there is a reason it is implemented and I won't mess with it).
Battery life, while generally great, is susceptible to quick drainage. Namely, GPS usage drains it scarily fast, but that may just be an aspect of all android phones. However, since the battery normally lasts so long on the G Pro, the quick drain from a quick car ride using navigation is all the more noticeable.
Android development for the G Pro isn't anywhere close to where the One is at. THAT BEING SAID, as of a few hours ago, an unofficial port of CM 10.1 was ported to our device, and I expect once all the bugs are worked out it will give a nice jump-start to the development of other Roms. Additionally, the stock Rom is excellent to begin with, and by far the smoothest and most fully-featured stock Rom I've ever used on any Android phone. Period.
The screen is very sensitive. Again, I don't own the One so I can't comment on how it compares, but the one thing that bothers me the most about my phone is that whenever it is in my pocket and I get a notification of some sort, the screen turns on, and somehow the slight movement of the phone in my pocket causes it to call 911, text all my friends, change the brightness, enable NFC, open the calculator, etc. etc. It's so bad that I'm forced to have a pattern-unlock on it, not because I want the security, but because I don't want my phone unlocking by itself and wreaking havoc in my pocket. Even with that enabled, however, there's still the "Emergency call" button I can't get rid of on the lockscreen, so it still occasionally dials out to the police from my pants.
Keep in mind, I really had to reach a little to come up with all of the above "drawbacks". It is my favorite phone I've ever seen or used or owned, and were it not for its maddening sound quality issues over bluetooth with my car system (more than likely related to Android 4.1.2 and not the phone itself, as I can't find anybody else having my issues with the G Pro specifically), I would probably not feel the need to even mess with the stock Rom on it. In fact, the bluetooth thing caused me to reconsider the One, but once you get used to the slightly larger frame of the G Pro (the bezels are very thin, so the frame is relatively thin and light for the ginormous screen you're getting), you really don't want to go back to anything smaller.
Hopefully I didn't confuse you more.. the G Pro is the right way to go. No phone is perfect, the One is an impressive looking device, but as of right now, the G Pro is as close to perfection as it's gonna get.

I got my S4 stolen last night, and will be looking at getting a phone to replace it. I was going to just do the 12 monthly payments for another S4 and call it a day. But the price is still 650-700 bucks, so I started looking at other options. The LG Optimus Pro looks AMAZING, and I found an unlocked international one on Amazon for 480 with free shipping.
My question is whether or not the unlocked phone would work on Verizon. I don't want to buy this phone online and wait for the shipping, just to have it not work with Verizon's 4G. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This phone looks incredible.

That's too bad. So even though it's unlocked and has a SIM slot for 4G, it doesn't have the right radios?
It does have this listed for information:
Dual_Cellular_Network+Operation: Dual standby
Secondary-Cellular;Networks: CDMA1800 (BC4), LTE2100 (B1), LTE850 (B5)
Secondary+Cellular;Data-Links: cdmaOne, CDMA2000 1xRTT, CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rel. 0, CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rev A, CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rev B, LTE
Switched from HTC One and so far so good.
I prefer many aspects on this phone over htc eg bigger screen, led notification, battery life, ext memory, replaceable battery however there some aspects which I definitely prefer about htc one eg brighter screen, LCD 3 screen, superior aluminium build, BOom speaker sound(miss this most), support development, smoothness and lag free.
UI mix feelings. Compared to htc one lg does lag.
Would I switch back hmmm probably not its got more going for it then not.
Well, I currently have both. I find myself wanting to grab the LG og pro over the ONE. Mind u, I've had the ONE since it dropped. The LG is amazing for watching videos!! I like HTC sense 5 keyboard better, I love HTC ONE build quality. I love the 5.5 inch screen on the LG, I like how it offers sd card slot, and the ui is tight! Right down to the lockscreen. And I also like how I can write on the screen if needed, which surprisingly enough, I do use it a lot.
I can't pick one. I'm tore between the 2.
Me!
Got my HTC One in April.
When G Pro was released in mid July, I trade in my HTC One for it and never look back too!
I love the high performance and big screen of this phone as well as its price. It is worth every cent!
As for UI, no one beats HTC Sense UI yet!
However, let's hope that the upcoming 4.2 update will reduce the lag of 4.1 and makes it even a better phone than it is already now!

This is a very negative thing imo. I find it ridiculous that they made this phone with no option to disable the display from turning on for every text message received.
-I emailed LG about the issue and of course all I got was the usual "your feedback will be passed on" stuff. But hopefully a future update will fix this.
-The way I dealt with it was by installing Go SMS Pro. It even has a cool little pop-up window of its own that lets you drag your text message around across any screen. Pretty nifty.
Otherwise I absolutely love this phone. I'm coming from a 2-year-old HTC Inspire 4G (laugh it up lol). It now feels like a toy in comparison

Luckily all it takes to fix it is downloading one of the custom ROMs and, if you so desire, flashing the qremote app onto that ROM.
I just switched from an HTC One yesterday.
I had no issues at all... I just kept thinking of and wanting a larger screen phone that wasn't a Samsung.
After a few weeks on CL, someone contacted me about my ad (straight trade) and said they were interested. They had the OG Pro and wanted a smaller screen phone. The person was upfront about the condition and admitted that there was a a couple of nicks on the corners.
The person wanted my One so bad, that he offered $100 on top of the trade! Also got a smart cover too plus all accessories.
I wish I would have kept the ear buds though.

should I swap my m9 with G4 or keep it?

So I am trying to get all the information I need before jumping from M9 to G4, I generally never change a phone before a year cycle, but the M9 poor camera in low light, very warm temps in summer days, and more specially the small screen (for my astigmatic eyes) are pushing me toward a bigger screen and some goodies lie better camera, so the G4 is here for that.
But in another way I red so many reports about touchscreen issues, and lately people are saying it could be hardware fault, and the volume of the earphone is not impressive, that I don't now anymore!
Today a dude was ready to swap his only 1 week old G4 with my M9 for only 40$ and because I hesitated he sold it to someone else, now if I want to swap it it will be with a new unit and I will have to pay about 100$
I don't see other phones incoming that could suit me, note 5 will be very expensive and no sdcard, motorola phones are not sold in my country and Nexus 5 2015 will not have sd card too.
So is it worth it to swap my M9 to G4(and pay 100$)?
I plan to install Xpirt Sense 7 ports, I prefer Sense launcher.
Still have a last question: is the BT autoconnecting? I mean my M9 autoconnect to my car's BT everytime I start the Car app, it was not the case with the S6, I tried numerous car apps with autoconnect option but the S6 BT didn't want to autoconnect, I hope the G4 is like M9
I'd wait for the new nexus honestly, but I swapped from the m9 to the g4 and could not be happier, other than the terrible music quality this phone has been better all around. Also the sense launcher can be installed on any phone, there's an xda thread about a port for all phones somewhere.

Terrible music quality or volume?
Of course coming from the number 1 as smartphone audio I have found a lack of volume and warmth on the G4, but I think it's fixable using apps like V4A, no?
I came from the m8 to the g4 so not quite the same comparison.
Please bare in mind that there is mention of the latest firmware update in the g4 general thread with people suggesting it fixes the touch screen issues.
I'm not sure about BT but I don't think it does auto connect from my limited BT use.
Overall I would say this is a great phone, but I would also add that I found that ease of install and quantity of roms was much better with the m8.. This may come with time but hinges on getting the bootloader unlocked...
My Bluetooth auto connects when I get in my car everyday.
I've been using Dolby and its improved it a lot. However sound is still disappointing, at some point I'll try viper but I'm lazy and haven't flashed it yet.

Will you be getting the H815 variant ? check out the G4 videos in this channel
You can also talk to your fellow country man, XDA staff, riro
in general somebody complaining about lag.
- was a nexus user ? ignore
- was a htc or xperia user on a tricked out rom ? ignore
- some random wierd **** ? G4 locked to a carrier ? which carrier ? ignore because they get updates much later.
- is a unlocked or intl. variant...listen then decide if you can live with it.
problems have been addressed with updates, this is the same old with every device when it comes out, some stink is created and then it gets (mostly) fixed but the comments and videos remain on the internet for ever (!) course these people move on to other devices but always repeat their outdated experiences.

If i understood you right....this strikes me as a setting, BT autoconnecting means it keeps searching every few minutes. if you set it to try only once when you switch BT on it will be better for battery.
Since you are swapping why not ask the seller to come over and try with your car.

THe latest update fixes touch issues. The phone will fix your camera, temp and screen issue no doubt. For my personal use I have no issue with the audio but I am not picky. The phone itself is pretty good and from what I see after the update it is near perfect. I for one am still excited to see the moto x and the nexus but the G4 is still pretty great.
Having came from an M8, to an S6, to a G4, I can personally say this phone is superior to all of them for numerous reasons.
1. Screen size/quality (LG > HTC) (LG == S6)
2. Audio is really good in my opinion (LG > S6) (LG == OR < M8/M9)
3.Removeable battery & SD Card, allowing for bigger batteries and extras alongside more storage cheap
4. Generally very fast, maybe not as fast as an M9 without a custom ROM but superior to Sammy devices by miles.
5. Stock experience is one of the best out there, vastly superior to TouchWiz on Sammy devices
6. Variety of custom back covers for the device (e.g leather, metal, plastic, varied colors, probably more from 3rd parties)
7. Camera is phenomenal, HUGE upgrade over M8/M9.
8, 9, 10 & 11 million. More than I can think of right now.
Also in my experience I have no problems with the touchscreen or anything else that was substantial enough to break the phone for me.

I read on many reviews that M9 is faster than G4. Did felt that?
Im in doubt between M9 and G4. Bigger screen isnt a must for me, and I dont play games too much (so, overheat is not exactly a problem). I had a very nice time with M8. On the other hand, swappable battery and the camera lean me toward G4.
Confused.
Honestly I felt like the g4 was faster. My m9 was always heat throttled when I just browsed the web, I've heard they did updates to help so idk how it is now, but the m9 was just so laggy it was awful. But if you are leaning most on camera then the g4 or s6 are amazing.

You convinced me to swap then!
I passed again to LG showroom today and tried the BT audio with my Sony sbh50, the volume was the same as on M9 BT, and when I installed Neutron...it was very loud without the muffling I get on the M9 + neutron + increased gain.
So I guess with V4A it will be perfect.
The screen of the G4 is so gorgeous! I could read all the text without problem very clearly while on the M9 the battery percentage is sometime foggy because of my astigmatism (know eyes problem with LCD)
Now I have to find a good deal
I have the same dilemma lol.
I'm wondering, is the G4 slippery with the plastic back? I think the leather back is more slippery because it's badly made.
My M9 is super slippery without a case and I can't stand the throttling or whatever it is. My Galaxy S5 runs faster and games run smoother (I tested both at the same time).
I'd buy the G4 from the carrier (it's cheap in Canada), because I want warranty with that phone, I don't trust its many issues.
Because of the on screen navigation buttons (I don't like them), the M9 is too small for me. But G4 is too big :/.
The overheating issues are very real with the M9 and replacement phones don't help. I had to fight with VZW for like 4 days to get into a new edge plan with the G4. Downside? Battery life is still pretty abysmal, but at least I can grab some extra batteries and switch it out if I need to. I am enjoying the G4 much more than the M9 even after just a week of having it.

I checked CPU temps on my S5 and M9 after playing the same 3d game. The M9's max was at 43C while the S5 was around 62C. Now of course the M9 was warmer because of the metal but the screen was less warm compared to the S5.
The S5 runs hotter but the plastic helps. However, The S810 is terrible, slower than S801 and the Wi-Fi reception on the M9 isn't strong and doesn't work with some routers (it keeps disconnecting and connecting every 5 seconds, really bad). I don't have an issue with S801.
How is the Snapdragon 808 that the G4 has?

My M9 would reach upwards up 120f and at 115 it goes into timeout. Always during GPS usage and very minimal other operations. Even charging was causing issues. The processor in the G4 feels good, but I don't do any crazy gaming or benchmarking. I lasted about 1 day before I got annoyed and rooted it. Got xposed running on it today just fine. As time goes on I'll have a better idea, but in terms of everyday operations, no hiccups with anything. The power and volume keys on the back..I would call...not ideal. It isn't irritating but I would definitely prefer a more standard setup. Just something to note. The power button placement on the M9 sucked though.

Just wait. After a month you'll realize that every phone should have buttons on the back.
If only it was a fingerprint scanner too

I hope you're right! It's a bit cumbersome in the car mount. The thing that exacerbates the issue is the lack of a power off nav button option like the M9 had. I was hoping someone somehow made more nav button options with root but I haven't seen anything yet. I'm using screen off and lock now, but it's not present on all screens.

You can also double tap the screen to wake, and double tap the status bar to sleep. I use greenify, which can be used without root, and have it override Google now, so when I drag up from the nav keys it just puts the screen to sleep

Oh that last thing you mentioned sounds awesome. (sorry for hijacking this thread, but maybe this info will help the dude anyway) I do use the double tap to wake. I use greenify and I'll try that last suggestion. That sounds reliable. Thanks!

G4 as slow as my G3

Ok. Guys please don't take offense to this. I LOVE lg and commend them for keeping removable battery and expandable memory. Kudos to them.
I recently swappa'd from the g3 to the g4. At first the difference was great. Huge difference in camera shutter speed. But now my camera freezes half the time in manual mode. Also I have tried with greenify and amplify and without and the phone lags like crazy and gps is always running when it shouldn't be. Even with google.com now disabled it still polls gps.
Granted it has no impact on my battery drain and I'm glad that the g4 has a faster gps lock than the g3. I am probably just being picky here... And truthfully I can't complain. I sold my g3 with box, vr kit, spare battery kit, 3 cases including rare slim guard cch320g, sold for $160 in 45 mins. Lol I wanted to give someone a deal because I had a highly motivated seller that sold this g4 with $90 mugen battery, stock spare battery, 2 cases (a $30 uag), and original box for $230.
All in all yes I would buy this over again and for under $100 difference I have no right to complain....but why do I feel no significant difference? I had my g3 since launch and my previous phone was a droid maxx.
Sorry but going from a blackberry tour to a droid 2 was so awesome. As well as droid 2 to galaxy nexus thanks to SwiftKey. Galaxy nexus to razr maxx hd was amazing. Razr Maxx hd to droid maxx was equally awesome thanks to bootloader unlock.
Droid maxx to lg g3.....I dunno. I felt jipped. Motorola had better radios for sure. But I began to enjoy lg and it's camera.
I played with a v10 yesterday for an hour. I am shocked at the difference in speed because the only difference is more ram really. The speed difference could be in my head? Idk this g4 lags when switching between apps, typing on Google search, etc. I have tried different keyboards and it changes nothing. Even adapting the searching of apps history etc. So slow!
I am not a person that spends more time on the phone. I use a Windows 8 laptop significantly more than a phone. I don't play games of any kind.
Help!
I switched from nexus 4 to lg g3. I was never happy. G3 to me was slow and laggy. I upgraded to G4 and will say that was the true upgrade. It is fast and snappy. I have to admit lg g3 after lollipop update seemed fast. I still own all phones but G4 is the best, would never use G3 back again. From the development point of view Nexus 4 was and still is the best. Hopefully an update to mm will solve problem for you.

We'll see. If not I dunno what I'll do. Even a note 4 dev edition isn't going to be much different.
I guess I'd get a 6p and a battery case when it comes out by zero lemon.
Wish we'd get some roms....

Why G4 price went down to $350?

Anyone knows why the price for the G4 went down to like $350? Like I can buy a new G4 from Tmobile for only $350, when the G5 is not even outo yet? And the G4 was just release about half a year ago?
Lg phones always go down. They go down more than any other phones so expect the LG G5 will be down in 6 months to the $300
As said, LG phones get cheap really quick. Plus, the device itself doesn't feel any expensive, so it's no surprise for to see it at that price.
the G5 is coming out soon. Same thing happening with the galaxy s6
is so that they want you to buy the phones that will be on the shelves.. they need to get rid of it..
As mentioned, between the V10 and G5, this phone is becoming more and more outdated. I'm sure the bootloop fiasco didn't help, either.
What's odd is when I was hit with the bootloop, I was going to go back to the G3 but they still wanted almost $400 for it, despite the G4, V10, and upcoming G5.
Don't worry the G5 will have the same depreciation

I'm personally finished with LG mobile devices. The G4 has been a nightmare. When it's used without being rooted, the icons and navigation bar are huge. Looks like its designed for the visually impaired. Back to the Nexus 6p for me.

yeah... LG i'm done with them too, it's actually more expensive to buy an LG's device than an IPhone if you change every year.
Me three done with LG, first phone bootlooped after eight months and now the replacement has mic issues, screen buzz, and LCD image issues at the bottom. LG needs to step up or be content being number three or four.

whats with the bootloop problem. it cant be fixed? must it be fixed by LG?
Bootloop can be fixed. You need to send your G4 to LG for the fix.
Count me in the group that's done with LG. They fixed my bootloop but sent my phone back with a messed up camera. I planned on using this thing for photos on my honeymoon, too.

What are you going to take after the G4?

Hey guys so this is my last day here at the G4 forum. Ditching my phone for an Oneplus 3.
I Wanted to create a thread where u can share information about your next device and why u leaving the G4.
For me it's clear. I have a sn 506 which thank god never bootlooped. I sent my phone after 12 months of usage in because of crazy screen burn in and they replaced me Motherboard processor and PCB. And it did get worse after that. Phone got unusable and the lack of Updates made my choice in direction to the OP3.
Goodbye Guys
I'm still using my LG G4 and I'm loving every bit of my experience with it. My next phone, when I replace it would be either LG G5 or LG V20.
Motorola are good phones, Samsung is great, I've used different models of those. But there is no other phone like LG when it comes to Androids. Best experience ever.
They aren't good at marketing their products like their competitors which makes them loose the market to less quality products out there. Otherwise, LG makes great phones. Remember the time when LG released LG Viewty? The whole world had that phone on their wish-list. They still make extraordinary phones.

Steering clear of any LG phones. The G3, G4, G5, and V10 all had bootloop problems. No thanks.
I am an Android fan and modder since 2013. I love(d) Android. So much customization, and I still like my G4 (except the fact if i hit it very weakly or it accidently jumps down the battery connection loses and it turns off). Few months ago I bought an iPad Air 2. I have to tell you, iOS is awesome. Lag? Not even a micro. Weaker hardware than G4 and runs much smoother. I also love iOS animations. Sorry Android, but.....
My new phone will be probably an iPhone 7 Pro/Plus, or a 7S.

One thing is sure..i will never buy any phone from LG,G4 is the worst phone I've had so far,for LG is best to produce dishwashers instead of smartphones, with my G4 i have problems with :red colored retention on gray colored parts of display, poor call quality ,call volume too low and distorted, terrible battery life, overheating, phone is 505 series it has has problems with everything except the camera ,and the damn thing does not want to die (bootloop issue) so I can get a new phone because I still have a year warranty on damn thing, never more LG smartphone ,next phone will be most likely iphone 6s plus or new coming iphone 7 i am just to tired of tweaking android so i can have a normal phone
My next device would either be a HTC or Nexus. I saw how the G2 and G3 had the bootloader unlocked eventually so I thought the same would happen. I then realized how much I truly needed it, life without AOSP feels so.. Slow.
HTC always seems to be spot on with their devices on the software level. Their camera need work but I'm not a photographer anyways.
Nexus is like a blank canvas and can be tuned to your liking. I'd probably go nuts with the options available.
Looking forward for V20,
Own att G4 with 506 serial and so far so good for my daily usage...even with my front camera have focusing issue but i'm not a selfie person.
Feel sorry for those who had bootloop issue with their device
I love the G4 but my confidence in it is basically shot. I've had it about nine months and it has had to go back for warranty repairs three times. Twice for screen issues and once for bootlooping. Add to that my non-carrier H815T is still on the January security patch, which is crazy. It's disappointing because my two previous phones (Nexus 5 and Nexus 4) were both also LG devices and were really good. But now every time my G4 has the slightest bump, stuff that I would normally just ignore as a quirk, I find myself sweating that it's about to start bootlooping again or get some other crazy hardware issue.
I'm going to wait and see what the new Nexus device is like when it's released in a few weeks. If that doesn't tickle my fancy then I'll have a serious look at a Samsung Galaxy S7.
Got a Oneplus 3 on the way. Going to sell my G4 SN 506 EU H815 even though it has had zero issues and in brief been a fantastic device. Just can't really gamble on it not developing bootloop. Plus OP3 has fingerprint scanner, excellent development and just generally a very well rounded device.:good:
If I drop my G4, then I will get a HTC 10 or one of the new Nexus devices. Depends on the price of course and if I had the money...:good: (So I don't know if ever...student life without money ftw!:silly: )
Moto Z Play
Good camera, good battery, thats all i need
My actually device is the LG G4, it's a good Smartphone, but I think the G3 was a bit better, it was easier to root and flash then the G4, the design from the G3 is so much better.
My next device is: LG V20, G5 or Nexus 6p
Sorry for my ****ing **** English
Though I'm pretty happy with my LG G4, having heard of all these bootloop and other issues, I probably won't be getting another LG device. From a design point of view, the G5 does not appeal to me one bit. Pretty much the same goes for the V20.
Having used a few smartphones now, I began to lean more towards stock Android, so probably a new Nexus device is on the horizon for me. OnePlus might be an option as well.
My boat with LG G4 has sailed. I enjoyed this device and now I have given it away.
Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
I purchased the G4 on October 2015 and got the bootloop on December: so I sent it for repair before the holidays and they replaced the motherboard (IMEI and SN untouched), then I got it back on January. After this episode I've never had a single problem with this phone, I really love it, but at the same time I'm really disappointed about how LG (at least here in Italy) supports it (just a security patch after 8 months, when other phones get regular patches every month). Also, I red about many G4s that bootlooped again even if they were repaired the first time and now some V10s and G5s do the same thing too, so I'm a little bit afraid that bootloop might happen again. Patience, but I don't think my next phone will be another LG, I'm going to get an HTC (my One S was a really good phone and today for basic stuff is still OK) or an ASUS (I recently bought for my mum a Zenfone and it's fantastic) in the future. I usually change my phone every 3-4 years, so I have much time to think about this.
I love stability and camera quality in phones.
When I came back to Android I tied a few till I get at G4.
Loved Huawei Mate S and OnePlus 2.
But camera it's all G4, so ill stick with it till I get a better one.
For me it's only one bad thing about this phone, its the screen resolution - no point higher than FHD for a 5.5 screen and battery suffer cause of LG choice.
Rest I'm loving it.

This, probably - http://www.xda-developers.com/google-pixel-and-google-pixel-xl-coming-to-you-on-october-4th/
I'm not due an upgrade for a year, but my next phone will most likely be a Nexus (or Pixel/whatever they call them).
