Guys I'm trying to root with the cubed root but when I go into download mode and open command prompt to identify the com ports I get an error not recognizing the ports should I download another version of the tool used to do it or is something wrong with the device???

I tried using windroid but i get "Device: not found" when my phone is plugged into the USB cable, i have HTC sync installed and it fins my phone, USB debugging is also enabled but still "Device: not found", why?!

I have a HTC one X(from Sweden) with Android 4.2.2 installed on it and i want to root it to upgrade to 4.4. I downloaded "OneXRootOneClick" but when i run the file to root as administrator in windows 7 i get "adb is not recognized as an internal or external command "
i then got the newest Android SDK and unpacked it @ > C:\temp\adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-20140321\adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-20140321\sdk\platform-tools
i then ran the following in CMD
set ANDROID_PLATFORM_TOOLS="C:\temp\adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-20140321\adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-20140321\sdk\platform-tools"
set ANDROID_TOOLS="C:\temp\adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-20140321\adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-20140321\sdk\tools"
set path=%path%;%ANDROID_PLATFORM_TOOLS%;%ANDROID_TOOLS%
but when i run the file in OneXRootOneClick again i get the very same thing once more, do anyone know why or how i could another way root my android(possibly without a reset)?

Open a command window inside the platform tools folders and place the phone in the bootloader, you should see fastboot USB in red text. Type this in the command window :
Fastboot devices
Tell me what happens.
And don't use a tool, let's do this the old fashioned way with straight commands.

I flashed stock rom to fix booting error and in order to install cwm but I end up kinda soft bricking my phone. I am on 4.1.2 now which is working fine but I can't access recovery just black screen with led changing lights continuously. I tried again flash it with tot file but now it is not picking driver in download mode which I forcibly installed to LGE Android Platform USB serial which installed correctly but when I change its port to 41 it gives error that port is in use but still I forcibly set it. Now when I start flashing firmware with LG Flash tool it stuck at ready and cannot pick the phone.
I have tried every possible way but I don't any solution.
Anyone put some light on this issue ?

When I flash using flash tool, it always gets stuck at ready. Unplug the phone and back in immediately. Always works for me. I've gotten the port 41 error before also. I just ignored it.

Also, don't turn phone off. When you're at download mode on phone and PC says ready, just unplug phone leaving it in download mode, then plug it back in.
I tried it again but no luck, can you confirm me one thing by checking, in download mode can you tell me full name of device driver in device manager under ports and under universal serial bus controller.
I am asking because when I installed forcibly there were 3 drivers though I tried all of them but no luck.
Currently I am on
LGE Android Platform Composite USB Device
and under ports
LGE Android Platform USB serial Port(COM 41)

Uninstall all drivers, pc suite whatever you have installed and use this one:
LGUnitedMobileDriver_S51MAN312AP22_ML_WHQL_Ver_3.12.3

Make sure you have the right drivers installed. Just a wild guess, somebody else could probably assist you better. That's just typically the issue I have when it comes to com ports.

I bricked my OnePlus One, this is not rooted.
I try this step:
- Try to recovery with OPO recovery tool: but the program not recognize my device. I install the drivers that contains into the download of OPO recovery tool, also I try with multiplies drivers, nothing works.
I can access to fastfood mode and I can access to standard recovery. But I can not access to smartphone from PC.
I am desperate, I not know what can I do

Sorry, really in need of help here.
I've been trying to flash the firmware with the testpoint method. I've been using the points inside the phone.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find any guides about how to go about this.
What I've been doing:
1. Start phone on fastboot
2. Connect phone to PC
3. Shorting the test points
4. Nothing happens - COM ports do not appear on PC
I could really do with some help please
