I am stumped, I can't use windows 10's default picture importing tool, it locks up the phone and the file explorer. Is there a fix or a third party program I can use? googling around gives no results.
Edit: To clarify, the importer will import 2 or 3 pictures and then stop, requiring the phone to be unplugged then replugged to be recognized again. I cannot manually move the pictures because I will get a "connected device is not responding" error.

I have an external gps that has worked great with my phone. I've recently tried http://trackr.nl and it can accurately capture my tracks as well. It says that it can supposedly geotag your pictures, but it doesn't worked for me. I've also tried http://shozu.com and it says that it can geotag, but apparently that option isn't available for Windows Mobile Standard smartphones. So I also tried http://locr.com (it would error out when I tried launching.)
I'm interested in an application that can geotag my photo when taken, so that when I upload it to Flickr using Shozu or some program like that, it will be automatically geotagged.
Has anyone found the best application for this? I know there are programs where you can first copy them over to your PC, then run some program that will compare it to your trail log and sync it with your date/time stamps on your photos. But I was hoping for something that would skip the PC.
Thank you,
Tim
Apparently I am having the same problems that others have been having, because my Dash is freezing at the boot screen. I'm in a precarious situation because my computer that I used to sync my contacts to died a few weeks ago...so I am pretty much screwed.
I tried ActiveSync, but it will not recognize my phone. Is there ANY way for me to get my contacts off my phone before I do the dreaded 'hard reset'? Are there any other tools that I can use to 'browse' my phone and pull my files off? Pretty much the past two years of my life are on this phone...
Do T-mobile stores have a way to recover phone numbers?
Also, when I browse through 'My Computer' a 'Mobile Device' is recognized, but when I click 'Explore', nothing shows up. But ActiveSync doesn't recognize the phone at all.
Try to uninstall and reinstall active synce, sometimes that works. Also for future referance, try using a back-up app like Microsoft My Phone or Dashwire. Both can be found in the "Useful Post...Useful apps" thread in the sticky.
Has anyone had this issue:
When calling notes, or the Voice Recorder app, or opening HTC Album, they take a very long time to become ready. The Album is usable but take 30-60seconds to populate the thumbnails, and the notes app just spins the wait icon for about the same time til its usable at all. It used to work fine...
I tried removing the storage card to see if its was the issue. Notes weren't ANY different, and the few wallpapers i had in internal storage still took longer than it should to show thumbnails.
Suggestions?
Well the problem was more extensive than I thought:
Every app that loaded a file browser, ex. Word/Excel/PPT/Voice Recorder/Notes/etc took a good 30-60 seconds to load and save, and to choose a new folder to browse.
The built-in "File explorer" responded normally and quickly. I had not installed the "file dialog changer" or the file explorer extension.
Turns out, it was the "expose Network folder to other programs" option in Resco File Explorer. I use it all the time to transfer stuff to and from my other machines, so its kind of annoying that either I have the network folder, or programs are speedy and usable. Don't remember this being an issue with my Touch Pro or my 6700.
I guess it timed out trying to search the network folder for various file types every time the file browser appeared in a program.
Hope this helps someone...
Yes, definitely. This did help me and probably saved me an awful lot of time.
So thank you very much for this hint!

I have a G3 and love it. Pictures I take open find on the phone but if I copy them to my windows 8 pc I can't open them or preview them.
I Windows Photo Viewer I get the following error msg "Windows Photo Viewer can't open this pictures because either Photo Viewer doesn't support this file format, or you don't have the latest updates to Photo Viewer.
I have never seen this error with any pictures or any other phone before the g3.
Please help.
I take it by the lack of responses that I am the only one to experience this problem and so, probably have a defective phone?
What is the file extension of the photos you are trying to view?
Try sending those photos to a drferent computer and if it opens then it is ypu pc.
The pictures are jpg. Here is the odd thing. If I email it to myself on the same pc it opens fine. However, I cannot open it and get the error message if I try to open it from my pc while the phone is connected OR if I copy the file from the phone directly to the pc using a usb cable.
I'm having exactly the same problem since upgrading to Marshmallow on a Nexus 5 (or could be the Gallery app?). Any solutions out there?
Hi guys,
one more question of me. Hope to get some help.
I´m desparate. I want to organize my data on my OP7T via PC so I connect it to it, but, if I want to open the pictures of snapchat, instagram, facebook etc, then it shows in Photos of Windows, that the file is damaged or can´t be read. But in the normal Camera folder, I can see the pictures.
SO I always have to copy it on my PC if I want to look to them. Thats pretty annoying.
Does anyone also have that kind of issue? Would be nice, if someone could test it on his own.
AND also this annoying messsage come several times, if I pull out the cable of the phone. (the pictures are attached.
