I have been looking into some Chineses clones of cell phones and a majority of them use the MT6589 SoC which it very cross compatible with firmware across the board of other phone that use this chip. Most websites say these phone only support 3G:WCDMA 850/2100Mhz which wouldn't work in the USA for 3G speeds. But according to the official site for this chip it has an advanced multi-mode UMTS Rel. 8/HSPA+/TD-SCDMA modem built into it.
My questions are,
1. If this SoC has HSPA+ built into it then why do most site say it only has WCDMA 850/2100Mhz and not the HSPA+ frequencies?
2. If this Chipset has HSPA+ built in but just not enabled, how would we enable it?
I saw the same thing and posted something similar to your thread at a few places....nobody answered. the RF chip use by the 6589 is the mt6167..maybe something I miss.. How it is not been done yet....
if you find something, let me know.
Yes! it supports it
I own a mt6589 chipset device and it supports HSPA+
Hope this helps you. Well my device is Micromax A116
Canada GSM is showing a M 919 Pentaband but Octacore as a Factory Unlocked new Device at $ 399.
I thought the M 919 is exclusive to Tmobile / Metro PCS and therefore a quad core.
Does this Model exist ? Or spec error by GSM Canada ?
If it does exist it would be fully band compatible on all Bands with Metro and TMobile with just a new SIM ?
Also has better graphics chip, though not faster because it's never 8 cores simultaneous, where some new Samsungs (Alpha) can use 8 cores at once.
So what do the Devs and Power Users say on this ?
Thank You in advance.
Its like they combined the i9500 specs and M919/I9505 together. Ive only heard of one octacore. i9500 and of no others or variants.
Has anyone found a flagship mediatek processor smartphone that is compatible with LTE band 4 (AT&T USA)?
Hello,
I have a question regarding 4G LTE bands on the LG Gx FL310L. I could not find any info on the bands that are supported by this phone, although some searching showed that the phone supports bands 1 (2100), 5 (850) and 7 (2600).
****(www).frequencycheck.com/models/A1dNG/lg-f310lr-gx-f310l***
I found that for Reliance Jio, the 850 band is supported, but I was told by the salesperson that my phone is incompatible with the connection. A search on XDA shows results for LG G3, but not for the F310L.
While I'm currently running the Jio sim on a Redmi 2, is it possible to unlock additional bands on the F310L? I know how to access the service and test menus but couldn't find specific instructions on how to proceed further. The phone was purchased in Korea.
Thanks,

recently the mid range devices from Asus, Xiaomi, Opportunity & Nokia etc supports 4G VoLTE on both the sim as there SoC supports SD 636 & MTK HP60 but for OnePlus 5T it has more superior SoC. Can I wait in next coming days for the same
