I was wondering which alternative camera app you guys/girls are using. I find the original camera app too nervous when it comes to finding a focus. Especially in dark environments.
Personally I tried Camera Zoom FX. Quite a good camera, with a pre focus option which keeps the focus and isn't 'nervous' at all. But there are 2 disadvantages..
1) The macro options makes the app jam, and must be closed and restarted. Actually, it's not even possible to make a picture with the macro mode selected.
2) The app doesn't have it's own video modus. When you want to record a movie, the app switches to the original 'nervous' camera app.
So if you are using an alternative camera app, which one are you using and why?
For *camera only* try using Camera FV-5. If you need video mode get LG Camera. Prefer the Pro version of these 2 as the free versions are pretty much limited.
Since the stock camera software is poor, which ones do you use? I love it, but it cant shoot in 13mpx. Can you recommend me some camera softwares please?
Cheers, Zunex

I use Instacamera for fast shooting, the Google 4.2/4.3 camera for Photosphere, the stock one for HDR pics and Camera Zoom FX/Camera FV-5 for everything else.

Other than the stock camera, and Google Camera, I've yet to find a single camera application that actually supports the Z1C's HDR camera mode, all applications will take multiple shots and then do software HDR, whereas the camera is capable of doing HDR on its own (or so it seems when I use the first two applications).
Is there a reason why applications that use Software HDR can't just use the hardware version when installed in a device that supports it? Why I can't find other apps that use it?
I am not satisfied with the stock or Google camera, yet I don't want to give up HDR support to switch to something else :/
HDR is not a Hardware feature, in all cameras or Smartphones is a software picture treatment..

I think he means that we have a HDR capable sensor..
Try Camera FV5 .. Someone told me that camera 360 app takes good pics in sony.. try that also..
Is there any reason that the sony cybershot camera apps package included in Sony STOCK ROM 5.0.2 can't be installed with any lollipop ROM....?
I have CM12.... and once MultiROM is available for the Z1c I'll be installing lots of ROMS to try them out but would be good to have Sony's Camera, and Walkman that work across all of them.
Can the Sony camera apps package be extracted from the system SIN file within a SONY STOCK lollipop zip and installed into any ROM...?
The Walkman app works.... I already have it.... just can't seem to find the camera apps anywhere

Stock camera being Sony....? So are you on Stock ROM or have you found somewhere to download the original Sony camera apps package and installed them....? I'm looking everywhere trying to find the apps package with no luck so if you can help that would be awesome,
EDIT:.... I now have Snap... very nice HDR capability but have no idea if it's using the Hardware of the cybershot...?
Hi,
Is there any good camera app for Zenfone 2 AOSP (Dirty Unicorns) with MM blobs?
Stock camera app is poor, PixelMaster crashes all the time, Camera360 can't save to SD and limit EV to +1
All I need is a camera app can adjust camera manually and can save to SD
Thanks in advance

You can disable Optimizations, move to /system (link2sd helps) and shoot with PixelMaster.
You can use cameramx
I'm using Snap Camera HDR, you can found it on Google Play. And Camera FV-5, google it for download pro version.
Can we get google camera (features like video record and lens blur) working on cm13 ?
Open Camera is a nice one to have on hand. PixelMaster itself imo and many others opinions "hence all the pixelmaster port requests" is a dam good app.
I use Footej and I find it quite good, in-par with the stock Pixelmaster cam.
Is there a camera app, possibly a modification of the stock camera Google Camera app, that allows for full-fledged manual operations and control?
I mean an app that allows you to control the camera like a DSLR. Of course without the aperture and the focal length..
Thanks in advance
Try proshot on the app store
Camera FV-5 from the play store

Pro shot camera
Footej camera
Lumio cam
The only 3 I can recommend at this time. Don't waste your money on camera fv-5 until the developers show they wanna keep their app you to date... hasn't been updated since Sept of last year. There's bugs and I wouldn't count on support at this point.
Also, don't waste your money on manual camera as it to is buggy and very inconsistent updates.

But isn't there a modified version of the stock camera that allows for manual controls? I want hdr+ so badly?
I have heard that the Nokia camera app is coming soon to all android phones. That would be the best manual camera app. Just wait for a bit more.
