Instagram problem, photo getting zoomed in after snapping

Im a huge Instagram user and I've been having a problem when snapping photos using Instagram.
Whenever I snap a picture, the photo will be cropped off 1/2 in on each sides thus ruining the composition. There are no issues on video though/
I'm currently on Omega v18 (stock rom based) and Im not sure if it's a ROM-specific problem or just issues of IG with the Note 2.
Can anyone else try this and see if after snapping a photo the final photo will get smaller or like zoomed in than whats showing in the viewfinder prior to snapping.

I have the same problem as you example. I took a pic of an apple, fit it into the whole pic and then when i snap, the end result is not what was seen before i snap. It sort of zoom in/cropped the photo such that you dont see the whole apple & the sides have been cut off. I'm also using Note 2 & i dont know when did this problem occurs. I searched all over the internet but it seems that no one is having that problem. My sister is using S4 but she doesnt have this problem.
Did you manage to fix it? I uninstall and install back the app, no help at all

Thanks. Nope still no fix for it. I even reverted back to stock ROM to see if it's a ROM problem but it produces the same problem.
I've reported bug to instagram's website so you can probably report it as well to escalate the problem.

Is that the exact composition and frame of the photo before you took it?

Ugh. That's weird. I wonder what's wrong...

Happening to me as well. The only solution I could find was to disable the option to "Use Instagram's advanced camera" under "Advanced features". This way it uses the phones camera and then asks you to crop the photo on your own.
I hope they fix it soon.

I have the same problem. Samsung note 4. Stock Android OS. Instagram and an app called "paper camera" both have this issue.

I have the same problem too. I take a pic & it comes out all zoomed. I emailed IG but still no response. Anyone know how to fix camera zoom bug? I have S5

I have the same problem. Picture is zoomed after a picture is taken. Very frustrating. Clearing app data repairs the issued for just a while. Reported a problem to Instagram via in app feature. No response. I'm using Sony Z5, Android 7.0
9 Aug: Updated to Android 7.1.1. The problem still exists in Instagram. Very dissapointed. What's interesting - problem does not exist with a front camera. Has anybody found a solution?

The same things happening to my phone (Smasung S6) and I came to Google hoping to find a solution. It hasn't always been like this but now it won't go back and it only happens to instagram :/

I'm having this problem with Samsung Note8. Contacted Instagram, but these guys are not responding. That's a shame because I used Instagram frequently in the past.

[Q] Skvalex Call Recorder

Hi,
I am in process of transferring from HTC to Xperia Z1 Compact.
One of the most important aps is Call Recorder by Skvalex.
Have tried version 1.52, but recording does not work.
Has anybody had success in using Skvalex Call Recorder, which version and settings.
I am on RomAur v1.2 and it claims call that recording will work, but it doesn't.
Can not use any other recorder, as I like to keep all past recordings.

Would help if you could tell us in detail about the issue. Could you elaborate the issue? Is it crashing? Can't record? Corrupt sound file? No sound? can't install from playstore?

Does it work generelly for people?

I used it wit z1 as model amr but it's a hit or miss. Some times it record some time does not. I've mailed skvalex already. He is a great dev in past replying to mails promptly. So we'll see

just confirmed with dev.use lg nexus 5 as devise and everything works.loud and clear:good::good::good::good:

Tried it, works very good even without root!

on romaur call recorder worked without problems with alsa as recording method, but now i´m on cm based kitkat rom and it is not working with any method (no other call recording app i´ve tested is working), i have not tested stock kitkat

oh nice! that's spares me from installing cyan soon

LG Nexus 5 + standard API method + default audio source (not up/down link) seem to work OK.
Nope, it only catches the other party through the microphone (no sound if mic switched off).
Tried other settings, no luck so far ...

This is my settings, if you have root there i no better app for call recording than skvalex

hm, can't judge due to lack of signatures, but I suspect those reporting it as working are on 4.4 Kitkat.
Does it work for anybody on stock 4.3? I think I tried every reasonable option and it does not record from the line on my Z1C ...
Will be grateful for a confirmation.

It worked from very first sw version to latest.I use caf with nexes 5 4.3 worked fine

Ta-1043 camera suck

This camera still sucks after factory reset And app update to 8.1.40. I have to start the app sometimes twice to get it good working. The lagging and working under Whatsapp is terrible. Has somebody a good solution besides the Google ?? After 4 months i AM still irritated

Yep and Nokia support says that they hope IT Will be adressed in future updates. Buy i think not. If i have a chance to trade this for a Moto G6 plus with somebody. I Will do that.

Apparently there's a fix for that
Simply disable the location in the camera settings. Im not using my 6.1 right now but can someone confirm either way that this works?

which version is the best to use with Nokia 6.1? any bugs to notice?

in my case, the battery is better than 10. Performance is better. But it is still some small bug.
Camera is an app, the quality is depent on app version, not the android version.

I'm updated with the latest google camera app. So, you are saying that the camera will be as it is.. right?

Sometimes receiving call , it is automatic turn on Speaker. Other people play games, the small horizoltal line at the bottom does not hide.
I have problem with Blackberry keyboard too.

Question Issue with the camera in Apps

Hi everyone, its my first post in the xda developers so i wish it will be ok.
First of all I have the Global version with MIUI 12.0.4
I have an issue with the camera in external apps like Whatsapp, Instagram, Twitter... and the problem is that when i open the camera in these apps the image is ok but when i shoot the photo the mobile process it and applies a strange beauty mode or something like that. I have a video:
. It doesnt happen in native app camera.
I know that external apps in Android reduces the image quality but I have had three xiaomi smartphones, redmi note 9 s, redmi note 5, redmi note 3 and now its the first time that this happens and is so strange because I dont see anybody talking about this.
Today i talk with a friend with a POCO F3 and he realized about the issue after I said to him.
I dont know if the problem is in our phone or is a global problem but its so anoying.
I tried to reset the phone and the problem still happen.
If anyone wants I can try to put two photos with best quality than the video.

Wow, just realized this happens on my device too... Seems like a software bug, as you said, it doesn't happen on the camera app directly and also doesn't happen on all apps (take snapchat for example, works fine).
Didn't try it on Instagram or Twitter, but images look absolutely terrible when taken through Whatsapp.

It´s strange that everybody realized about this only when they hear me talking about it. Two friends who has the POCO F3 doesnt realized until i said it.
If it happens to a lot of people im "relaxed" beacause i think xiaomi must solve it in a new upload and is not a problem of my device.
Pd: Sorry for my bad english.

I saw this time ago too. There is an option calles beauty mode for video call (search beauty in the settings) but that one doesnt seem to affect.
