4.4.2 OTA Stagefreight patch - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

Just installed it, its been out a couple weeks. Wow, much impress Samsung.
I can't find any details about the update and what it patched. It was around 55MB.

L900vpucoh3
The PDA code for the update is "L900VPUCOH3". Google that code for more info.
A table with basic info about all Sprint Note II (L900) official firmware updates, including this one, is available at Sprint's support website, here:
//support.sprint.com/support/article/Find-and-update-the-software-version-on-your-Samsung-Galaxy-Note-II/WServiceAdvisory_542_GKB49163-dvc6630003prd#!/
The table indicates that the latest update is simply a patch to fix the Stagefright security vulnerability.

Does LG release any security patches at all unless you flash an entire ROM?

I only got my security updates when I flash to a new ROM myself. Am I not supposed to get security patches through OTA between Android version updates, or does LG just not bother doing that? I'm on an unlocked(not locked to a carrier) H815 in Sweden.

Spectre/Meltdown Exploit: Are we vulnerable?

Just like the topic says, are we vulnerable to this new exploit or not? If so, how can we patch it? I can't seem to find any information regarding the Note 4 being patched, only the Note 5 and thereafter.

I too was searching for this answer and a Google search led me to this: https://9to5google.com/2018/01/10/meltdown-spectre-android-updates/
I'm still searching for official info but I'm not surprised the Note 4 isn't getting patched. I'm more miffed my 2016 revision Tab S2 isn't getting patched. That sucks.

I saw the same page. Someone out there has to know how to patch a security update for us and other users of older phones. It's gotta be possible. I read that one user of an ASUS motherboard patched his own BIOS for the threat(s).
I was assured by a Samsung rep that the Note 4 would receive a security update, but I'm not sure I believe that it will.
Verizon Galaxy Note 4's have started receiving a security update!!!!
Within the past half-hour (currently 1/17/2018 at 10:45pm) I received a notification to install the update. Hopefully this update will address the KRACK, Meltdown, and Spectre vulnerabilities.

Can I install this on a ROM or should I ask the ROM's author?
Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
Most likely the update is only for stock firmware, so you should check with your ROM author.
The update is confusing. After applying the update I looked in Settings, About Phone and the Security Patch level still shows as August 1, 2017 (suggesting that none of the security vulnerabilities like KRACK, Meltdown, or Spectre have been addressed). The Kernel version and SE for Android status now show December 6, 2017, so something has changed.
Under Settings, System updates showing that the last system update was a software update to N910VVRU2CQL1 and that it was applied today (Jan 17,2018). So far I haven't found any documentation for this update so it is totally unclear what has been changed or fixed.
Verizon just posted that
Software Version: MMB29M.N910VVRU2CQL1
Android® Security Patch Level: 2017-08-01, including Blueborne and Krack security patches
The current software update gives you the most up to date Android security patches on your device.
( See https://www.verizonwireless.com/supp...note-4-update/ )
Hopefully we will soon receive the Meltdown and Spectre security patches. Wouldn't it be nice if Verizon/Samsung would post an ETA for these kinds of critical security patches.?

[OTA] NPN25.137-35 - April 2018

Hello all,
Have an unlocked rooted Moto G5 Plus here on T-Mobile currently running stock NPN25.137-33 (Nougat 7.0 - January 1, 2018 security patch) and I just received this update notification for a VoLTE fix named NPN25.137-35. It's relatively small (~48mb) , here's hoping one of the more experienced devs can incorporate this into their Nougat ROM's moving forward and also hopefully make a TWRP flashable zip for those of us who just want to upgrade their stock rooted roms.
Cheers!

My system info (pre-patch, of course):
If I flash this I will get my IMEI back or no? I didn't understand sir????
A little confused by this as well, your screenshot is showing January 2017 security patch and your ota is an old one. Are you just now getting this update through TMobile? Glad I bought the unlocked version if that's the case

Just wanted to contribute in case this OTA wasn't already out there (couldn't find it in my searches). I know that the current stock ROM version is 93-4 with the March security patch being pushed out to some regions...wanted to share the patch in case it wasn't pushed to other carrier versions so that it could help add robustness to existing Nougat ROMS, especially for VoLTE TMO users.
Wait.. this is a very old update.. the newer updates have NPNS instead of NPN
Edit: just read your comment, ignore this

S9 still stuck in Apr 2018 security patch, no updates whatsoever...

Hi, my Samsung S9 (SM-G960F, dual SIM) was purchased in May 2018 from Dubai (fully unlocked) and is being used in India. There were no carrier restrictions at the time of purchase, it was purchased fully unlocked.
Even today, it still shows Android Security Patch Level at 1/April/2018. I have enrolled into Samsung Pie beta, and I try everyday to download software manually, but no update has come, either in security patch or in software version. The details are given below:
When I try to update software manually by going to software update - download updates manually, it says 'The latest updates have already been installed. Current version : G960FXXU1ARD4/G960FOXM1ARCA/G960FXXU1ARD6'
When I go to settings - software information, the android version is 8.0.0, samsung experience version is 9.0, baseband version is G960FXXU1ARD6, build number : R16NW.G960FXXU1ARD4, kernel version : 4.9.59-13138374-QB17882910 [email protected] #1 Tue Apr 24 11:50:17 KST2018, android security patch level : 1 April 2018
I have even downloaded Samsung Smart Switch and tried downloading latest software but no use. The message I get there is 'Your software is up to date : RD4(INS)'
Please help. At this rate, I am not sure if I will receive any updates at all, even security patches. I dont know what is the problem.
Thanks in advance.
Flash it manually with ODIN, loads of guides all over XDA if you look
Thanks a a lot.

Thanks.
I have downloaded Odin v 3.13.1. I have downloaded the Android Pie firmware available in Sammobile applicable in UAE and the firmware is G960FXXU2CRLI/G960FOXM2CRLI.
Can I directly update my firmware from G960FXXU1ARD4/G960FOXM1ARCA using Odin 3.13.1 to G960FXXU2CRLI/G960FOXM2CRLI. Please advise.
Thanks.

Yea, just flash as normal, your bootloader will change to version 2 so you will not be able to downgrade back to that current firmware you are running as it is version 1
