Choetech mini dual USB car charger – Review - General Accessories

Choetech is known for their wide range of smartphone accessories. Here I have the new mini dual USB car charger in for review. Not all car chargers are the same and the Choetech mini car charger is one to stand out from the crowd.
Specs:
Auto Detected Charging Port: 5V/2.4A Max
Quick Charge & Auto Detected Charging Port: 5V 2.1A/ 9V 2A/ 12V 1.5A
Dimensions:1.1 x 2.5 x 1.5 inches
Weight:20g
The packaging was nice as most companies are going for the recyclable packaging, with the cardboard box and cover sleeve. In the box was the mini dual USB car charging device and they also included a flat style 2ft USB to micro USB cable which is always a bonus when it comes to mobile accessories like battery packs and chargers. My initial impression of the products was that it was very small in fact it is smaller than my old USB car charger which had a coiled micro USB cable build in.
As for design and hardware, it has a smooth glossy black plastic body (it comes it white as well). Even though you won’t be taking this in and out of the car, it isn’t much of a fingerprint magnet which is a good thing, as I really can’t stand fingerprints! The best thing about this product is its size, as it is smaller than most of the other car chargers on the market and is lightweight and portable. This means that you can easily fit it into your pocket, and or transfer it from one car to the other on the fly with no hassle.
One of the best features of the mini charger is having dual USB ports instead of the one, this can be handy when traveling. In addition to this, when charging my phone it has a dedicated port for quick charging as only my Nexus 6 supports it. But also when it comes to charging my dad’s, sisters or moms phone, I like the fact that it has this ‘Auto Detect’ feature this means that the car charger will automatically detect the type of charge (voltage/power) that goes into your device(s) which are plugged in. This is very important because it helps to prevent overheating and overcharging that could potentially damage your device.
The USB cable which comes in the box is a flat cable which means that it doesn’t get tangled easily, saying that it is shorter than a standard 3ft cable so this helps with it being tangle free. As there is nothing more annoying than tangled cables. When you are done using it you can easily stow it away safely as it takes up very little space. Overall, you can’t go wrong with this charger. Not only is it small so it is basically hidden, it also blends into central units in most cars. If you have a smartphone and you have trouble keeping it alive throughout the day, I would definitely recommend this product.
At the time of this post it is only $15.99 on Amazon. Product Link

Review: 2A wall/car dual chargers from iSmooth

Yep, it's the same iSmooth known for their screen protectors At first I was very skeptical because they are listed for Apple products, both dual port chargers with 2.1A and 1A - typical for iPad and iPhone/iPod devices. While talking to Paul, the guy behind iSmooth, he mentioned about using it to charge his Note 2 without any issues.
I got both of them, and can report they work perfectly with our Note 2. I can use either 2A or 1A ports to charge GN2 while still have other port used by another device, either android or apple. So functionally it definitely works. Another thing I noticed, 2A port charges the phone pretty fast, and when I connected iPod Touch to 1A port, the charge rate seems to be relative the same which suggests they don't share load where with some other chargers both ports are forced to 1A.
The construction of both is very solid, these are not cheap plastic chargers. Wall charger actually has substantial weight which suggest quality electrical components. Both have white/black theme, works with my UAG Navigator lol!!! Wall charger has a blue light indicator while car charger has a glowing blue ring. I tried capturing everything in picture details below. One thing that makes it unique, wall charger has a release latch to remove the electric plug. Once you do that, you have symmetrical 2-pin universal plug you can find on a ton of your devices around the house, like laptop ac-adapter or printer plugs. I actually used one from my laptop ac-adapter (not included with wall charger, obviously), but still a neat idea for extension cord. if your electrical outlet far away. But in general, wall plug is very slim and should fit without obstruct any other device plugged next to it.
The only drawback, wall charger is sold out on Amazon and I have been told it will take a few months before its back in stock. Oh, also forgot to mention - both wall and car charger come with 10 year free replacement guarantee. That is insane confidence of the product quality.
Ok, so here are the pics:

Review of MPow 4.2A dual usb car charger w/lots of pics!!!

This is a review of MPow 4.2A dual usb port car charger. http://www.amazon.com/Mpow®-4-2Amps-Charger-Android-Devices/dp/B00HLHHBHA/
Car charger is probably one of the most common smartphone accessories. We all like to take trips, stream our favorite music stations, keep our eyes on the traffic with Google maps, make some phone calls, and maybe even have wifi hotspot running for other passengers in the car. All this is going to drain your phone battery in no time. That's why we need to keep our phone on a charger while driving. And not just any charger, we need something that's going to source enough current to charge your phone at max speed. Let's take a closer look at what I found.
Both of the MPow car changer units, black and white, arrived in a nicely packaged box with a front display showing the actual charger. Taking it out of the box revealed a very compact dual car charger, about 3.5" in length and almost 1" across usb port side. When I say compact, I mean it was a size of a regular single port charger, while they were actually able to squeeze two in there. Another good point about compact size is that it won't take too much room in cigarette outlet and won't interfere with anything next to it. Once plugged into the outlet, it has a nice soft blue light to indicate the power is on and also to guide the connection in the dark. I do have to note that usb connection itself is a bit on a tight side which is actually good to hold the cable without falling out. But at the same time pulling on the cable will actually remove the charger itself unless you hold it down with your hand.
The most important test is if it can actually deliver 2 amps per port. A lot of the chargers claim they do, but it only works when one port is plugged in. In this case, I was able to confirm charging my Note 2 at max speed (the same reading I get from my original 2A Samsung wall charger), and I was able to do that while also charging Nexus 7 (HD, 2013 edition) which charges at 1.5A. Although I don't have two Note 2 to verify full 4.2A dual charging capacity, I have a feeling that won't be a problem.
Overall, I found this dual usb car charger to have great performance, solid build, and delivering it's advertised charging capacity without a problem. Covered by 18-months warranty and currently on Amazon for $6.99 (down from original $9.99, need to use code MPOW01CA at checkout) - this is one fantastic value!
Here are the pictures.

Good review. My car has a USB port built into the head unit, and it really isn't meant for charging. My Galaxy S III would just barely stream music via Slacker and hold the same battery percentage. If yoou're getting the same kind of charging capabilities out of this as you do with you wall charger, that's mighty impressive. I think I'll have to put this on my list of general accessories to get.
Hello Vectron, I just checked the amazon link, it's $7.99 now.

Thanks for pointing it out. I noticed they (MPow) constantly run specials on their products (car chargers, speakers, batteries) which gets noted in special offers section with a coupon code.
Perfect review. Might pick this on up.

Do you know the lowest price of a car charger? I found many car chargers which range from $7.99 to $14.99.

[Review] CHOETECH 50 Watt 6 Port Desktop Rapid USB Charger

Desktop chargers have become of my favorite tech accessories to use this year. It wasn’t until recently this year that I have become accustomed to using a desktop charger for juicing up my devices. These days there are so many gadgets to be charged up by via USB connections. That’s where a desktop charger comes in handy! CHOETECH has a 50 watt 6-port rapid USB charger to help you get all your devices all charged up.
Specs:
Input: AC100-240V
Total Maximum Output: 5V/10A
Charging Port Output: 5V/10A(max)
Quantities of the charging port: 6-ports
Dimension: 88.4*29*71.5mm/ 3.4*1*2.8in
Weight: 158g
After testing and using this desktop charger as a daily driver charging unit, I was please with the results. The cool thing about this particular charger is that it is a smart charger, which means that it can detect the type of charge (voltage/power) that goes into the device(s) plugged up. This helps prevent overheating and overcharging that could potentially damage your devices. Not too mention this CHOETECH charger is fast! The quick smart charge is definitely the selling point for this charger.
Having 6 ports is very convenient. Personally, I have about at 3 devices that need a daily charge; my phone, bluetooth headset, and home wireless phone). With that said, in my house my wife also charges her phone, we plug up the iPad and the PS4 controller needs charged as well. Needless to say, there are many devices in my home that gets plugged up daily or every other day.
I like to have two desktop chargers setup at my desk and entertainment center. The desk has my PS4, phones, tablet, bluetooth keyboard, and other devices here and there that I use a desktop charger with. On my entertainment center there is a media device, phones and tablets get charged up. Both in my opinion make great places to install the desktop charger.
The build quality is rather nice compared to other companies chargers I have used. It has a matte finish and is compact in size. There is a small orange LED light to ensure that the charger is working and plugged into a power source. The cable is long enough to use on top of a 4 foot high entertainment center. The only thing I would change about this build is the bottom needs to have some rubber stoppers to help it stay in place and not slide around. Other than that, this thing works great and I would definitely recommend checking it out.

Yesterday I received from amazon my new car charger. I chosed vinsic one because of the quality of they' re products, feedback, reviews here in xda forum and the first impact with the design, looking very different from low quality chinese products.Let me start telling that this charger is great, maybe a little heavy but it gives you a sensation of quality compared to my old one made of plastic, and the stainless steel material used gives you the feel of premium quality and a great look with the engraved logo and specs.Even the box is not cheap as other products cause you find a manual,a warranty card and thanksgiving card for chosing they re brand. The charger has 2 usb ports 2.4a each, that can charge both a nexus 5 and 4 without any problem (they could both draw from 1.2 to 1.7a on nexus 5)and spot a little green led that light up when connected to car.If you look on vinsic site they say they use an high quality chip inside to ensure a great reliability and protection that shut off power in case of overvoltage overheating and short circuit ,even the shape is made for security, you can use it to smash windshield in case of emergeny, but I wish i will never need this feature .The only little problem I found is that maybe in a car with the cigar lighter in vertical position the charger will not stay strong inside the plug, but in myne I had no problem. So what to say, this brand looks promising. Next item when I get my pay will be the 20000 mah vinsic battery in this review and I will tell you about it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/accessories/review-t3067486
it can even be smashed into (or thrown really hard?) into your windshield to get yourself to safety if something happens?
Yes sure is heavy ,I think about 100gr, it s heavier then a nexus 4 for sure, or maybe is cause weight is concentrated in a small object. It s not a declared function, but on they re site you can see the picture I posted with a smashed glass
This is an amazing car charger to have. The Slick chrome top and black bottom gives it a unique design that not many car chargers these days have. I just plug it in the hole and it turns on for you to plug your Phone's Usb Cord Cable in. The Green light that displays when it is plugged in, is really nice and innovative. Since it is a Dual Port, it both has a 2.4a port for each to have both an even charge for your devices. So far, I have plugged in my Motorola G Phone Cord in it, and it works great. I also have plugged in one for my tablet, and that charges pretty good as well. The time it takes to charge my devices are at a good rate as well. I would say about 2-4 hours if leaving it in the place where the cigarette hole is at.
Now since I couldn't show my phone using the port, I had to use one of my tablets. As you can see from looking at it, the light turns solid green when it is plugged in. How cool is that. I will recommend this product to my family & friends.
I bought one as well, but it as not working. Actually, green led is shining but is is not charging my Note 3. I bought it on Aliexpress. I contacted the seller and he send me another one free of charge. But, the same thing. Green led is shining but it is not charging my phone. Anybody experienced same problem?
I tried again today. With very same cable it charges some Alcatel android phone, but not Note3
The Samsung micro AB cable uses 5.3 v. Not the 5V USB standard. I have a galaxy tab and can't get anything but the official charger for these services and official cable to charge at high amp. You can plug a microB USB into one side of the port and it will charge at .5 amps or so.

Choetech mini wireless charging pad – Review

Qi wireless charging has become more of a convenience for us as a higher volume of smartphones support it. The reason for their convenience is because you don’t have to stumble around at night or even during the day trying to find a cable and making sure that it is inserted the right way. With wireless charging it is effortless as you just place your device on the QI enabled pad and it begins charging.
In the box:
Wireless charging pad
3ft USB to micro-USB cable
quick start guide
Specs:
Input: 5V/2V (MAX)
Output: 5V/1V (MAX)
Charging distance: 0-5mm
Dimensions: 3.3 x 3.3 x 0.7 inches
Weight: 64g
After testing and using this Qi wireless charger as my ‘daily driver charging unit,’ I have to say that I was pleased with the results. Before I got this wireless charger I previously owned the official wireless charger by Google for the nexus 5. It was pretty cool at the time but now that I have upgraded to the nexus 6, it has a bigger batter which supports turbo charging and the official wireless charger doesn’t cut it anymore. As I am used to the quick charge of the nexus 6 I knew that having a wireless charger would be slower.
But I was surprised at the speed at which this wireless charger charged my phone. Of course it wasn’t as fast as Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 but from my experience it was faster than my old wireless charger. As I only have one device as my daily driver at the moment, it is convenient for me to place my wireless charger on my bed side table.
The build quality it is rather nice compared to my other wireless charger that i had, as my first initial impressions of the wireless charger was that it has very beautiful build quality as the bottom half of the Qi enabled charger is made from aluminum. It has a rubber ring around the bottom to stop it from moving around too much when placed on surface. The top half of the wireless charger is made from plastic and also has a rubber ring on top which doubles as a cup holder as well, and it helps to make sure that the device does not slip.
On the surface of the wireless charger there is a small ambient light sensor, and also a ‘skyline’ notification LED which turns on when you place your device on it so that you know your device is charging. This is a nice feature as my old wireless charger did not have an LED indicator to let me know when my device was charging. Also as the wireless charger has an ambient light sensor, it would turn off after 30 seconds or so if it was in a dark room. This is handy when sleeping as you are not distracted by a light when sleeping.
One thing that I didn’t like about this product is that it was a single coil, this means that you have to make sure that you place the phone in the correct position to that the coil on the phone and the wireless charger are aligned. It would have been nice to have three coils instead of one. However I have to say when I did place my nexus 6 on the charger, 70% of the time it started charging the first time I placed it onto the charging pad. Other than that the product works great and I would recommend you checking this product out.
At this time of this post it only costs $15.99. Purchase link
