So I love SlimRom, and all I really wanted to do was build it to go faster. Weeklies from Slim come out on Sundays, and I'll be realising my weeklies a few days later. I want to test stability before I give it to you. Anyways, I'm not responsible for what you do to your phone  , and do a nandroid backup, because if you don't, you're stupid.
I'm guessing you know how to flash.
For F2FS you must use Chet's 2.8.1 TWRP recoveryTWRP 2.8.0.1
8.4 w/ Custom Toolchain, -o3 = Dev-Host
XDA
Thanks to Chet, Emmanuel, and the SlimRom team.
Future plans: build my own kernel, remove some apps, add some apps, clone to github
Here's a toolchain I built, based off Linaro 8.14 -o3, but I updated all the libraries to the newest ones:
GMP
Cloog
isl
mpc
mpfr
pkg-config
zlib

I've been on your 7.6 one and it was pretty nice about to flash 7.8
Quick question about this, since you credited Chet in the OP...
To my understanding, LiquidSmooth is a Slim-based ROM, right? And Chet is currently working on Liquid (using a customized UBER kernel)
Can you outline the main differences between your customized SlimKat and Chet's Liquid builds?
I am currently running and older build of Carbon with Wild v.7, but I am considering trying out both your ROM and Chet's LiquidSmooth. Appreciate your help.
P.S. - Back in weekly 7.4, I tried installing Wild v.9 but it caused random freezes. Would you happen to know what changes in that kernel caused it? Also, will your own custom kernel be based on Wild?
4.4.4, custom toolchain with o3 and built with o3 and ofast, plus all toolchain libraries are newest versions, and I forgo the extra stuff in interest of size as d simplicity. I built 7.4 with v8 wicked because it was more stable, also the governor that was most stable was intellidemand. I can't vouch for the others. And yes it will be built based on wild, but it'll a little less aggressive. I credit Chet with showing me ways to incorporate ideas into roms. He's super helpful
May I port this rom to my quincyatt (that's if you're not part of SlimTeam)? Of course proper credit and links will be given of course...
Yup
I've noticed that the video recording don't work. I've tested on Official Slim, and yours. Still a rock solid ROM tho. Just can't make my vines X3

I'll check that app too. I've read you have to change resolution, back out of app, then restart
Also I have a custom kernel I want to start adding to build, anyone have any performance/battery commits they like?
Hello all, I'm getting a message that root cannot be found on this rom, however, I see it has superuser? Does anyone else has this issue?
Edit: Nevermind I fixed it. Anyone else having trouble getting Wild Kernel to work?

First go to System settings, and click on Advanced options (it's at the bottom). Next click on Superuser, and go to its settings by either clicking on the settings button on the device or by clicking the 3 dots on the top right. After that click on "Superuser Access" and change it to "Apps Only". Next click on where it says "Automatic Response" and change it to "Prompt". You should be good to go. Also just FYI if you want to use a Wild Kernel with this rom it must be version 10, and below because ver. 11 freezes..
Thanks for your help...just another question I don't know if you can help but I'm unable to mount my sd card for some reason the sd card is not showing up

Is your SD card dead? I would try using a different one. The only issues I had with wild kernel so far is that the newest ver 11 would not let the rom boot and some of the overclock frequencies freeze the device. I running version 10 and its working very nice lol. Been on for like 2 hours with no freezing or nothing lol.
Edit Build 3 boots.
Anything new to look forward to?

Today I have made two new ROMs, but both of them act like the first ROM I made
There are TOO MUCH differences between AOSP and CM, Omni, etc, lots of board configs need to be migrate, besides, most of the overlays in CM&Omni cannot be used in pure AOSP, so maybe I have to migrate several CM functions to make it usable.
Both of them need lots of time, so please be patient if you want this ROM recently

is this based on AOSP or touchjizz?
also, have you attempted to decompile the kernel and add possibly the missing MIUI files from the ramfs?
I know there was a problem with that on the i605 (Note 2 from Verizon in the US).
well, we couldn't flash a normal kernel because of not being able to get it to boot so we had to flash a custom kernel that was made to work with the MIUI AOSP port that we had.
This is based on AOSP. I used tejkkarani's slimkat 4.4.4 Rom
Yes i decompiled the kernel from slimkat and added missing files to make miui Boot.

As most of you know, Vanir + Commotio supports about 100 devices and has been around 2012.
Since pretty much everyone on the team has an Angler, I thought why not post here.... And currently rock solid performance.
Support
Since we support around 100 devices, the only place to find official support is on our GooglePlus Community
Commotio + Vanir Features:
- We are a caf based ROM that shares many features with cyanogenmod
- However unlike cyanogenmod, we own features, optimizations, performance enchantments, scripts, and butter
- We also remove all tracking found in AOSP, google, and CM sources
Builds
We have a rolling nightly releases. There are usually 300+ nightlies a year, so you are never stuck on a stale ROM. I won't swear every nightly is perfect, so make sure you backup before flashing.
DHO's Server <-- Commotio Edition
Nuke's Server <-- Official Vanir
Gapps
- Vanir's Gapps are purpose built for Vanir and will work on any caf based ROM
- Your welcome to try others, but there will be no gapp related support.
Sources
Sources are always apt to change, for always correct info please see our manifest. We have NO closed source repos. What you see is simply what you get.

Booted and everything ran really well.
But since it is encrypted I went back in and flashed Franco kernel r2. I couldn't get it to boot but I assume I did something wrong.
I tried both, just flashing kernel, and then tried flashing unSuperSU, flashing kernel and then SuperSU 2.61. Both ended in being stuck at commotio boot screen.
Am I flashing the wrong type of kernel?
I wrote this here hoping maybe some others could answer. But I know official support is in G+ community. Just thought this may be less commotio related and more custom kernel related as it pertains to ROM.
Thanks.
I know in the past with the Nexus 5, you couldn't flash a CAF based ROM with an AOSP kernel...does that apply here also?
I think Elemental X works on the official CM but I'm not sure.
Theory says - CAF based ROM should be the ultimate in performance & battery and this is currently the only CAF based rom available that gets regular updates and being actively worked on.

Yeah, you are right, 30/11 is only 54MB, I don't know how did that happen, I apologize. I guess it was some glitch with AFH. It is corrected now.
P.S. Magisk doesn't seem to work on 30/11. I modified the first post to point to the 29/11.
1129 Build
Seems like there is no setting for buttons like long press for menu etc. No system dark team. Superbackup crashed after around a dozen apps restored and I could not get it to not crash after that. Magisk17.3 is working fine. (I tried once to dirtyflash over AospExtended 6.0 it seemed to work fine but then the screen became unstable:laugh......No screen problems or really anything else on clean flash except with my backup app. Going back to AospExtended 6.0 for Now.
Thank you for making this available for testing CAF was a new thing to me(I have the base ROM setup backed up on the phone just in case)

I do the same
I also have fully set up aex backed up for emergency restoring to a functional rom. As for the features - I believe the devs will slowly add them in the future. I follow their telegram channel, they still haven't released any official build for any device, i'd say it's still in its alpha phase. I hope they will continue their good work, I too am curious if the CAF base can give any measurable difference.
