SO, i'm selling my Evo
I've been searching through the forums a bit, and I cant seem to find the most up-to-date stock ROM and radio.
could someone please help me in this matter? ALSO, I had a snap kernel installed with turbo enabled with CM7, but when i flashed a new ROM i left the radio alone. could this be the reason for my extreme battery drain?
[none of that noob battery stuff, no sync, gtalk, data disabled. Literally my battery drains at an alarming rate. Extended battery also.]
PLEASE help with these issues, they are beginning to become a real problem for me.
thanks in advance
NEVERMIND! found it. lock/trash as you will.

Terrible battery life
I'm not completely sure why but for me it has been terrible. Drains to less than 40% in 5-6 hours. I at first thought it was the overclocking I did, then I set the max CPU speed to 1024 MB and it's still terrible battery life. I have wi-fi and data off most of the time and the phone not being used and it still drains this bad. Can someone help me? I've tried a few different governors under the CM9 settings now, which is best? I notice that wi-fi and the screen are using the most power. Why does wi-fi remain on/drain power even when the screen is off? Sense managed to save my battery and make it last for like 2 days (as mentioned in the OP) by turning off wi-fi and data when the phone was asleep/locked. Also, I used auto-brightness on Sense and got the 2 day battery life. Auto-brightness on CM9 seems to be KILLING my battery.
Someone help me get max battery life out of CM9 for my HTC One V (CDMA) please!

I was going to give CM9 GMS a shot but maybe I'll wait for a few weeks.

Actually I had other reasons to wait including concerns about my first flash.
I did end up flashing last night, but not based on the in-depth experience your 1-line reply to this thread described. I actually had any questions I had answered on the IRC channel by a few devs which was highly appreciated.
I don't think there is anything wrong with people waiting for even more stable versions and commenting on that as such. Maybe instead of trying to provoke me through insults you could have tried to convince me. Otherwise your criticism is useless without any sort of construct so please keep it to yourself.

So make some short.research here mate. Cm9 is extremly stable and just a short step to be final, and.almost all developers are focusing on CM10 nowadays. Thats all and seriously there is nothing wrong with CM9 at all - me running it, without single issue

Exactly what app did I say was sucking my battery? Oh right, I didn't. I asked for help on how to get max battery life with CM9 (like how I should tune the settings) and of course I get someone who thinks they know everything coming in here just to talk **** on someone else. Why did you even bother to post dude? You just wanna call people out and put them down. Does that make you feel better? Insulting people via text on an internet forum? Real cool man... Who's the real mr. perfect here?
That being said...
The ONE AND ONLY issue I have with CM9 is that it seems to be draining battery way too quickly. The first 2 posts claim to get the same battery life as with stock rom (about 2 days). Can someone (someone who actually wants to help here, not someone who just wants to laugh at people who don't have EVERYTHING figured out and perfect like they do) please tell me how they have set up CM9 to get 2 days battery life. I really really like CM9 and the only thing keeping me from using it is this battery drain.

Well, I use JuiceDefender to switch off wifi and 3G when the screen is off. Also, I don't use autobrightness, opting instead to set screen brightness to 20-30% (which is still pretty bright IMO). Been getting 1 and a half days out of the battery with low-mid usage (texting/calling/checking Facebook & Twitter)
However, I've only been using CM9 for about 5 days, so you might want to take my advice with a pinch of salt. Hope this helps anyway.
Hey guys, I know this is my first post (waves) but I have been reading the forum for a while.
I am having some issues with the battery life on my phone with PAC-MAN rom. I read and searched some fixes but I can't get the problem resolved. I was going to post in the rom's thread but since I have fewer than 10 posts it won't let me post in development threads.
I am using TWRP 2.4.4 (Now 2.5)
I made a few NAND backups of the pacman rom. Now when I was using Carbon I was getting about 2 days with regular usage (My patterns haven't changed). I listen to music for about (Tunein) 2-3 hours during a day. Games about 2 hours max. The rest of the time it's either flip-board or just what'sapp. But my habits have been consistent throughout.
On Pacman I was barley getting a single day worth of usage. I tried changing the cpu settings to compensate (profile) but it did not help me.
I tried to re-flash pacman from the NAND backup and that didn't help.
I was just looking for some advice on what I can possibly do to try to fix the issue or if anyone else has the same rom, if they can post how much time they are with their batteries.
Thanks for the help!
Get better battery stats. There is a free version for us xda people. Run it and let it gather stats. Then post the log in the main better battery thread or over here.

Alright ill do that and see how it goes. Thanks!
I'm wondering if anybody can help me with this!
I have a HTC Desire HD smartphone, I haven't had it long but I've noticed a significant drain in my battery life! I have tried a certain app on the Play Store to Calibrate my Battery but I don't think that's worked very well! I don't want to flash any custom rom's or anything like that I just want help with how to get a good battery life! My battery lasts about 8 hours with not much use, and I've tried battery saver's but they're not much good! I don't think I need to buy a new battery but if I need to then I will but if I can help it then I won't! I know this is off the topic but I have a HTC Buzz: Wildfire too and I rooted and flashed CyanogenMod 7 on it too and the battery life was crap on that but I don't need help with that phone mode it's just the HTC Desire HD I need help with, so yeah can anybody help me with this problem? It would be great if you could!:good: :highfive:
Yours Sincerely,
Kieran James Luckman
Read up on the Better Battery Stats app and figure out if anything is causing wakelocks.
Well, if you are on stock rom 2.3.5 then it could be a hardware problem but first try a new battery!!
install a app called "current widget" from playstore
and check how much mAh you are getting, If more than 800+ means charger is Good...
and secondly u can giv a try to custom kernels, there are many out there with a better battery life and battery saving governor like smartass v2 etc

Hello all. I received my M8 about a month ago, international version and am very happy with it thus far. Amazing phone, gorgeous design; I love it. However, an issue that has risen is poor battery life. Included is a screenshot via GSam battery monitor of my use today. The level of battery after just over 2 hours of screen time is disappointing to say the least. I texted a few people today, made a few calls, read a few articles online, and watched a few videos over WiFi. Basically, no activities that should cause this much drain. The absolute best battery life I've been able to get is 4.5 hours, and that's using minimum brightness and keeping data off. I noticed that the app usage section seems to be the biggest culprit, and have included a screenshot of what apps are running to help you all help me figure out what's going on. The only thing keeping me from unlocking the bootloader and trying all of the glorious ROM's this community has to offer is the fear of me having a bad battery, which I know is highly unlikely. I'm running stock Lollipop by the way. Factory reset was done after upgrade to ensure a clean install. Please, any and all advice and help is welcome. Thank you in advance!
Anyone?
