Zenfone 2 and Pioneer Car Audio USB plug in
Dear all, i've no found solution to use my Zenfone 2 in my Car with my Pioneer DEH-X3600UI
my old Nexus 5 worked fine wjen i plugged in (read mp3, tag id ...) through MTP mode sure...
when i plugged the ZenFone2, the car radio player connect to usb, phone screen notification appears (MTP Storage) , but an error appears on Car radio screen (ERROR-19), i suspect the auto mount PC SUITE ISo file as Virtual Cdrom to block the Read of internal Memory (i've no SDCard in my phone)
i've tried the USB Debugger mode on , this is exactly the same...
have you the same issu ? have you tried other settings ?
your precious help is appreciated
Tks to All
Cricou
Yes I have the same problem
i've still the same issue...unable to be detected by my car audio usb player (PTP mode with or without usb debuggin...)
i'm not root, but if you've rooted your phone you can try installing application who mount SD card a MAss trogare i usb....to test
Rgds
Anyone found any solution for this? I bought the pioneer system especially because it was supposed to be iPhone and android compatible, but it doesn't work with zenfone on stock ROM. It connected when I tried on CM though, so what is it about stock (and other devices such as HTC one and Samsung S4 according to a quick Google search)? Maybe CM works because SELinux is set to permissive?

hi
i ve you tried to uninstall the auto mount of cd rom iso ? i think the problem is located in this drive... the audio car is trying to read it instead of the PTP "drive"....
How do you uninstall the cd rom auto mount?
You can use Prism Barebone or SuperZen, lightweight roms that doenst have de PC suite.

Hi everyone, I am a proud owner of Xperia Play and am currently running Cyanogen Mod ver 7.1.0.2 . I was wondering if there was anyway that i could change the USB connectivity option to Mass storage as default.
I need to do this because when i connect my Xperia to my car USB jack the USB connectivity prompt to turn mass storage on does not appear. The phone simply starts charging.
Is there a way to use my phone as sort of a pendrive to just plug in and enjoy music.
I tried to find USB connectivity options but to no avail. As I remember there was such an option on stock rom.
Please someone suggest a solution to my little problem.
Thanks
Hi,
I would like to use lg g3 as a screen for my reverse/backup camera in a car. Before buying the g3 I checked that it supports OTG and latest Android has easycap drivets built in so you do not have to root the phone.
I have got easycap with UTV007 chip which should be supported and I checked that it works on windows laptop. I have got USB OTG cable. If I connect mouse to g3 in otg mode it does work.
However if I connect easycap it does not. I am using one of the reverse camera apps. I ran usb host check program and got the following output:
Android.hardware.usb.host.xml OK
Handheld.core.hardware.xml : usb host not enabled
Tablet.core.hardware.xml : not found
When i tap "fix" i am getting "could not start su process".
To me it sounds like it needs root rights to update some configuration. G3 has factory android 5.0 installed. I have enabled usb debugging but it did not help.
Do you know what the problem is and how can I get easycap working?
I would prefer to not root the device neither to install custom roms because I have no experience (my first week on android)
Thanks in advance!
Forgot to mention: The phone is D855 v20i TWN XX Android 5.0 kernel 3.4.0 if it makes any difference
So I have installed busybox and terminal, no root yet.
I have found handheld.core.hardware.xml and it does not "include" anything to do with usb host- is this a problem?
Furthermore there are numerous files like video0, video1,...video31,video32 in /dev/ - can someone please help explain it?
What is the best thing to check next?
hello. Have you tried using an otg y-cable? It may make no difference, but perhaps a y-cable with power source may help.
Hello everyone!
I have got a Galaxy S4 Mini (I9192) and I try to connect my PS4 controller to it, in order to use PS4 modded remote control app, but the phone does not recognise it. I use CM13 latest build by @csendre , custom kernel by @DarkFrenzy and TWRP 3.0.2-1 by @ne0zone75 as well, but I cannot control the phone through my controller. Inside TWRP, in mount option, I cannot enable USB OTG, and using OTG Troubleshooter app, it has crosses on two last lines (not recognized by Linux and not recognised by Android). I have also connected USB flash drive without any luck... So, is there any way to use USB OTG or is it a hardware limitation of the phone?
Thank you a lot!

I did not use a controller with the S4 mini, however I used USB OTG functions with no issues, but you need to supply power so use a Y cable. Our hardware can not supply power through the USB port
Hello everybody.... I write because I'm facing a problem that's causing lot of headhache:
I have this Samsung A3 (SM-A320FL) with broken screen, no USB debug, no root and stock recovery and I need to retrieve data from it.
I tried almost everything:
- programs like Dr.Fone, but the model wasn't supported
- connect the smartphone to the pc, but I can't confirm the mtp connection from the first
- used a USB otg splitter, one port filled with a mouse and another connected directly to the pc, but the smartphone wasn't even seen
I was thinking to flash a custom recovery to use adb, but:
I don't even know what version of Android is installed, nor firmware and I think that encryption was automatically turned on, so unless someone of you has a solution, the best for now is to repair the screen.
The situation is interesting but honestly I didn't see as many solutions...

Your problem seems simular to what I had.
If you are sure the software settings are ok and that doesnt work, remove the backcover remove the battery connector, put it back again and see if that works. Does charging work?

Thats weird my s2 tablet has USb problems to. It stopped reading OTG usb connections and the PC. However it is always able to charge. I have noticed that when it does finally read on the PC it seems like the drives dont switch right and my battery wont charge. It got to the point I dont even try to plug it into a pc or USB otg just incase it quits charging I have SD card and twrp for installs so I use that instead. Most be a problem with the usb port and drivers.

I dont know the answer nor the solution.
What I noticed however is that I used my tablet as an monitor for an USB web cam.
The problem (charging but not being able to connect to PC) started AFTER I removed the webcam.
The app I use (USB Camera Pro) has an option "remove camera safely"
If I use that option everything works fine but if I remove the cam cable without pressing this option I cant connect to my PC anymore and have to unplug the battery.
I am having a similar issue and would be grateful for help. My Tab T815 has a clean install of the latest Android 10 Rom and Pico Gapps via TWRP 3.4. All seem to be working great apart from the USB OTG. Specifically, I am trying to connect my DJI Mini drone controller and it's not registering it plugged in. I also have Android 10 on a galaxy S5 and have no issues at all when I connect the DJI controller to the phone. I have run a diagnostic app that says OTG is compatible with the T815 so am now at a loss on what to try next. Could this be an issue with the Rom?
