So this is tutorial that i'm putting together after i bricked the signal of my phone. It took me week of digging and learning of usb debugging tens of posts read and I managed to repair it plus additionally unblock various regions in radio settings menu (*#*#4636#*#*).
I should mention that there is no warranty on anything I'm about to write
Step by step:
1) phone has to be rooted and has superSu so flash it with appropriate rom
2) download and install following:
https://mega.nz/#F!RA83UTjA!M4v2djifO27mcL1OSzO9Ew
3) Download and install android SDK package
4) set your phone to USB debugging
5) on your PS go to \Users\(your user name)\AppData\Local\Android\sdk\platform-tools
hold SHIFT+right click--->Open command window here
Have your phones screen on and type in command window on your PC :
adb shell (enter)
su (phone will ask to grant permission)
setprop sys.usb.config diag (enter)
6) Go to device menager--->COM Ports-->Hs lenovo diadnostic click properties and change driver to the one you downloaded. It should come as HTC diagnostic
7) open QXDM Professional (you downloaded) go to Options-->Communication-->target port. Now set the COM port where your phone is installed. Go back to the main window and from "View" dropdown menu select "NV Browser".
8) You will now locate following lines and change their values to the one i provide(remember to backup original values).
8a) Select dual sim and remember to change settings for both sims "subsciption" first 0 then 1
Select item hit "Read" change the value then hit "write":
441: 0x380
946: 0x0FFF
1877: 1970325105345408
2954: 0
6828: 1904863 (experimental LTE band unlock)
You might have some values already on your phone...I messed mine in the first place so I'm not sure which ones are original
9) go to your phone deselect USB debugging then restart now you should have additional menu to change band settings in *#*#4636#*#* phone info.
10) to improve signal strenght edit build.prop on your phone located in /root/system
find line "ro.ril.hsxpa=1" and change the value to 2 then start adding lines as follows:
ro.ril.enable.dtm=0
ro.ril.gprsclass=10
ro.ril.hep=0
ro.ril.enable.3g.prefix=1
ro.ril.hsdpa.category=8
ro.ril.hsupa.category=6
ro.ril.enable.a53=1
Some of it might not work for specific countries/carriers so just experiment

Hello Fucpl , the guide I tried as well but without result . I think the problem lies in the modem firmware , which probably does not include the band 800 as not used in China . The solution would be to flash the modem of the Czech rom , but we have to find it
Anybody tried this?

There should be a phone software backup in QPST. I havent tried it but this might be a way of ripping the czech rom. Would be nice to try it out....Out of the box question- how is a reception on your vibe shot? Mine is constantly fluctuating in one minute, same spot i can have full bars and then suddenly drops to 1 or none and then call quality becomes rough and choppy.
does this guide really work?
I'm trying to use LTE on 2600 mhz in canada and I am not sure if my phone is on a different LTE band or what.
Has anyone else had success with this guide?

Points 1-5 worked fine, but now at driver changing i have a problem. there is a HS Lenovo but i could not change it to HTC diagnostic, how could i force this win7 64-Bit? Tried to search in folder and picked file manually. Thanks for your help.
edit: think i left test mode after flashing i'll try later again
edit2: tried again, Win 7 64-Bit is still in Testmode but no chance to change the driver to HTC. Win always says driver is already uptodate.
Any idea how i could manage this problem in another way?
i found out some codes for Vibe shot:
*#*#8363#*#* select SGLTE+G/DSDA aso.
*#*#333583#*#* FDD-LTE enable
with these FDD could be enabled and some settings of the band also - but no chance to bring me a working cell back...
Any ideas? Maybe could anybody try these codes and give me the settings?

i found an easy way to fix broken radio after *#*#4636#*#* and Band set to USA-Band.
Do the points like fucpl wrote to point "adb shell" and "su"

Then enter:
1. Start background prozess to sdm0:
cat /dev/smd0 &
2. Have a look at your band settings:
echo -e 'AT$QCBANDPREF?\r' > /dev/smd0
my settings were wrong:
$QCBANDPREF:
"24.GSM_850"
"26.GSM_PCS_1900"
"28.WCDMA_II_PCS_1900"
"31.WCDMA_V_850"
3. Change the settings (have a look at the list, DO NOT take this settings "8,9"):
echo -e 'AT$QCBANDPREF=1,"8,9"\r' > /dev/smd0
("8,9" are the settings from the list, this command writes directly
to NVRAM, so you don't have to do anything else after that)
4. Then "OK" should appear:
[email protected]_row:/ # AT$QCBANDPREF=1,"8,9"
OK
5. if nothing appears in terminal you could hit "Return".
Your Lenovo Z90-7 should now be back with connection and your settings.
to test just enter:
echo -e 'AT$QCBANDPREF?\r' > /dev/smd0
$QCBANDPREF:
"8.GSM_DCS_1800"
"9.GSM_EGSM_900"
Have fun
This was tested with S208 ROOT.
Maybe we have a chance to activate Band 20 with AT commands. I'll check this out these days.
The mainreason for this was fixing my broken radioband
Another example, this command sets the following Bands:
[email protected]_row:/ # AT$QCBANDPREF=1,"8,9,10,24,25,26,27,28,31,34,38,43"
OK
AT$QCBANDPREF?

lenovo network problem
hi everyone,
i am a new member i signed up to get spme advice. few weeks ago i bought a lenovo vibe shot which had a rom with baidu and the other rubbish installed and to get rid of them i flashed the 5.1 rom successfully. However i was not happy with the strength of signals it was getting and i tried some things i found on this website to unlock radio bands. unfortunately i was not successful with that and now it does not make or receive call. it shows one max two bars network and still shows the name t-mobile which is wrong from the beginning as it should show ee because im on 4g. but the calls not connecting for some reason. i tried following the steps mentioned here but because i am just simply not good enough to solve the issue. well, would anyone be so kind and write the procedure down in the simplest the very simplest way to a beginner? please i would appreciate the help. i would love to use the phone again as it is much nicer then my moto x 2nd. just one more thing is the a chance a marshmallow update is out for the vibe shot? thanks again and sorry for the trouble
Did you try the above version with AT commands?
You need Root S208 and Terminal app from google play,
it is the minimum

I am using a HTC One V CDMA (Virgin Mobile USA) in India on Reliance CDMA network. The phone was flashed to Reliance and everything is working fine ie I can make/receive calls/sms etc. 1x / EVDO credentials have already been written to the phone.
Now the issue is that I am not able to enable data or the data connection doesn't get enabled automatically. When I try to enable data it says "Disconnected because service is unavailable". But if I press the "Activate this device" button in the settings section, an activation screen 1..2..3 comes up, then wait for 3-4 sec, the 3G symbol gets displayed meaning its able to make a data connection. Now if I go back to the settings page and enable data it successfully connects, and I am able to access internet at EVDO speeds. But after some idle time, the data connection is automatically disconnected and to reconnect I need to repeat the above process. Even if I intentionally disconnect data and try to reconnect, it doesn't happen and I need to go through the "Activate this device" process.
I believe some sort of initialization is missing which is done during the "Activate this device" phase and hence I am able to connect. What could be the reason for this? Is it some setting/configuration that needs to be enabled?
Please pour your valuable tips to resolve this issue.
Thanks
Fixed the issue with auto connection of data, not sure what fixed it exactly, but here are the last changes that I made after which it started working.
You need to use the tool QPST (I used version 2.7.378, an older version didn't work) for this.
In the M.IP tab, disable all profiles except profile 1
Then edit profile 1 and make changes (check attachment)
Then in RmNet tab enable auto connect for device 0 and 1.
After that
PPP Config --> Um --> Enter user/pass as "net" (Req Pw enc should be unchecked)
PPP Config --> AN --> Enter the EVDO credentials given by the MEID registrar (Req Pw enc should be unchecked)
Please note that I got it working merely by trial and error and some of the above changes may not be required and I am not even sure why they are necessary , but with the above configuration I am able to enable data without any problem.

Well, I had loaded the NVDump earlier, but as I had mentioned it would connect first but if you disconnect or get disconnected it wouldn't reconnect.
Check if the SPC is correct, cause I never got any error like that.

You are talking about Reliance CDMA right?
If yes you need to get the MEID registered, will cost you about Rs 500. Reliance store guys will not do it, have to get it done through some 3rd party provider.

Without the correct EVDO credentials, you won't be able to get EVDO speeds. You need to check with your MEID registrar.
NV dump is not really required and the same can be configured manually if you have the credentials as I have described above. Since you are able to make and receive calls, it looks like the Akey is already set.
so that means if i dont get the credentials from the registrar EVDO can never be started on this handset??

You could check with some other person who does MEID registration, maybe they can retrieve the credentials. But without it, EVDO will not work.

Simply by loading the Reliance PRL file, you should have voice signal, if not you are doing something wrong.

I don't think that would be a problem.
Make sure you are using the right PRL file.
No above steps required.
You must have flashed NV Dump already.
Your phone must be activated via *228 already.
Just perform below mentioned steps :
1) Put your phone in Diag Mode by dialing ##3424#
2) Get HTC Diag Mode driver if you don't have it already
3) Download DFS Demo version from DFS Website
4) Connect your phone with DFS, send SPC
5) Now, go to Programming tab -> Data ->
6) Click Read
7) At PPP tab, write "net" (without quotes) to SIP NAI, UID, Pwd field.
Restart the device and here you go, your device would get connected to internet instantly.

Retrieve IMEI in your LG Optimus G in case of not make previous backup
The method I describe below was developed for LG G2 but has been tested successfully in the Optimus G so it's perfectly useful:
Requirements:
- The mobile must have the Stock ROM (4.1.2 or 4.4.2).
- Download Tool QSTP:
https://mega.co.nz/#!2phwmYhY!DXozTvsU4pDD5PKJcYWnuC5nKQEA0skuFeN-90dFjQU
- Download Tool IMEI Converter:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/84115590/IMEI-Converter.zip
Steps:
1 Unzip the tool IMEI Converter to a folder:
2 Unzip tool QPST 2.7_build_4.11 in a folder and run the installation file (Setup) to install on your computer:
3 Now on the phone to enable USB Debugging. If you do not know how you can find this option in the Settings> Developmet Options>USB debugging and activate.
5 Connect the device to your computer.
6 Run the QSPT, to set it up you are clicking on the PORTS tab, then click on the ADD NEW PORT option.
7 The current port as should COM4 or 5. Note: If you do not recognize these ports any port try to recognize the phone or another PC in the latter case.
8 Select the port and click OK. The port should show the active phone.
9 Select the phone (APQ8064) and click the Download Software option from the Start Clients menu.
10 Now give click the Backup tab. It should show the phone port.
11 Click the Start tab to start doing the backup.
12 Now find the folder named BIN located in the path:
C:/program files/Qualcomm/QSPT/, open the BIN folder and execute the file RF_NV_Manager
13 Click in File> Read from phone. The IMEI number of the phone should appear in item number 550: NV_UV_IMEI_1
If you appear get an error
14 They select OK and then click on File> Read RF NVitems supported.
15. Click on item 550. Should be displayed 9 boxes in white (empty).
16 Now run the file IMEIConverter.exe
17 Then write your IMEI (15 digits) in the Enter IMEI field. If you do not know what they find in the phone box, in some models even Optimus G is glued on the back thereof, or in the phone bill.
*** - Then click on the button <CONVERT IMEI>.
** - 18 Should appear two groups of 9 digits
18. In the program RF_NV_Manager activated the Hex box
19 Now 9 boxes appear, type the numbers generated IMEI Convert starting from the left, should be written in each box two digits consecutively until the 9 squares remain full.
20 Once the 9 squares are filled correctly you have to go to Setting option> comport> and select the port to which you are connected again and give OK
21 Select the Write NV tab.
22 Then click File> Readfrom phone.
The item number 550 should now appear.
24 Disconnect the USB cable and restart the phone.
25 Open the dialer (phone dialer) dial *#06# You should display the IMEI of your phone and the phone should be connected to the carrier signal without problems.
Important Note:
- If you give Error in step 13 run again and Method in step 13 before you dial them run error step 20.
Good luck and any thing sending me a message and i help. :good:

Retrieve IMEI in your LG Optimus G in case of not make previous backup
The method I describe below was developed for LG G2 but has been tested successfully in the Optimus G so it's perfectly useful:
Requirements:
- The mobile must have the Stock ROM (4.1.2 or 4.4.2).
- Download Tool QSTP from this Post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1942417
- Download Tool IMEI Converter from this Post (item 2):
Steps:
1 Unzip the tool IMEI Converter to a folder:
2 Unzip tool QPST 2.7_378 in a folder and run the installation file (Setup) to install on your computer:
3 Now on the phone to enable USB Debugging. If you do not know how you can find this option in the Settings> Developmet Options>USB debugging and activate.
5 Connect the device to your computer.
6 Run the QSPT, to set it up you are clicking on the PORTS tab, then click on the ADD NEW PORT option.
7 The current port as should COM4 or 5. Note: If you do not recognize these ports any port try to recognize the phone or another PC in the latter case.
8 Select the port and click OK. The port should show the active phone.

Hey guys, I will reactivate this topic a little. I ve got LG F180K and I converted it to E975 without doing EFS backup (still had imei number but no signal). I flashed modem for K and it still didnt work, flashed L modem and it...worked. No LTE and no 2G, only 3G, still imei.
What to do then if I want come back to F180K ROM? (NO EFS BACKUP)
If you unlocked using freegee the imei backup folder is their in your internal storage root folder. freegee backups even if you don't choose to.

Do this step for no signal if your IMEI is correct(not null).Root is necessary for this step
Install "SQLite editer" from Google play to open "settings.db" in location "Data\data\com.android.providers.settings\database s" select "global" -> find "subscription_mode" change value "1" to "0" then save and exit.

i have same problem due to convert f180k to e975. i have solved it by factory rest after flash and after factory reset (setting->backup and reset-> reset phone) restore IMEI and then again factory reset.
Factory reset after flash is main solution.
Sorry for necroing an old thread, but my lg g6 t- mobile h872 , suddenly says IMEI null after the latest 20a-e update. I never rooted, or flashed any custom roms before
What should I do?

Just a quick question. Why were you trying to change LTE On/Off in the Engineering Screen? Were you only trying to enable LTE bands or did you have a problem with your data connection? If you were having data problems before downloading the Field Test app, did you know there are some know data issues with CM13. Did you lose your LTE connection?
Also, what gave you the idea to download QPST & QDXM? Do you have prior experience with these applications?
Also, since you have CM13 installed on your 5x, did you try and restore a backup in TWRP that you have saved to see if it corrected your problem?
Which carrier are you with?

Hello,
thank you for your answare, and sorry for my english.
Before problem phone was new and all was worked, but i tryed make some changes, because i searching solution for changng band and editing priority for diferrent LTE band.
Now my problem with no connection on lte is solve, i write zeros to partition modem1 and modem2 from modem filesystem and modem itself after restart phone reset factory setting, but i dont now where modem took IMEI, because i think IMEI is save on this partition...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
But i still dont understed why, after reboot changes on line ID 06828 and ID 06829 comming back originaly number .
Bestest solution for me wold be if i find in NV parameter band priority according signal strenght. Or some application (IN Phone) for disabling and enabling all LTE band without computer.
My most-used bands is : 800,1800,2600Mhz

Shortcut Master Lite in the Play Store will allow you to access the LTE Engineering to set band priority. Open the app and click the 3-dot menu In the top right corner. Click on "secret code explorer" and allow the list to populate. You will be looking for a numbered code like "3282” or "33284". Click on each one, select explore from the menu and look thru each selection. The one you will be looking for will say something like Sprint LTE bands editor. You can enable bands 25, 26 & 41 and set band priority. When asked to enter your MSL, enter 000000 and tap verify. You can figure the app out. It takes a little time to get used to how the app works. Good luck and let me know if you need any more help.
P.S. I dont know why you would start changing NV values without any experience using QPST & QDXM. You can make a mistake very easily. Be careful when making changes. I would start fresh by fastboot flashing the factory images, bootloader and radio and start over. Just my opinion.
What carrier are you with and where are you located?
Sent from my Nexus 6 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Why i start Edit without experience ? It is easy, because i need get experience
Band 25,26 And 41 is not important for me.
I need disable and enable and set priority for 800 1800 and 2600mhz, quickly from the phone...
My location is czech republic and switzerland.
I spend days but cannot get volte provisioned on T-Mobile USA.
Things I've done so far
1. Volte Carrier check id already off via *#*#86583#*#*
2. Have temp root access but unable keep edited build.prop, reboot cause a restore of original build.prop, reference link here
3. Try QPST method from this thread and many similar ones, but PDC cannot recognize our phone even QPST see it fine and connected on a com port. Have to use su command "setprop sys.usb.config diag, adb " to make the connection.
Everyone have any ideas?
Your provider may need to enable it from their end as well.
At least that's what mine had to do before I could get VoLTE working.

That's not an option, T-Mobile and all US carriers will not do that, tried already.
It worked for my Familys Phone A2 Lite with Android 9 (don't trust Android 10 update many reports of bugs)
with *#*#86583#*#* then you see HD Symbol in right corner. Your Provider must support VoLTE also some Providers in my Country they only enabled it for certain mobile plan.

4. Reboot
5. Open settings and enable VOLTE and voWi-fi
6. Open Phone and type *#801# select Engineering Mode
7. Switch to full port switch
8. Open settings and enable debugging by usb mode
9. adb reboot ftm
10. adb shell
11. setprop sys.usb.config diag,diag_mdm,qdss,qdss_mdm,serial_cdev,dpl,rmnet,adb
12. Open PDC and select profile ( sub0 and sub1 then click activate for VoLTE PTCRB for example)
13. Close PDC
14. adb reboot

First of all, apologies for asking such basic questions.
I have done something similar to this procedure on a 5 and a 6 previously, but now I am the proud owner of a 9 pro europe variant and would like to enable VOLTE as per your instructions.
where do I find th apk's listed on your instructions list?
What version of PDC is needed, I have one installed from 1 year ago is it the same one?

try install latest qualcomm drivers
Reinstalling Qualcomm drivers did the trick with PDC recognizing the phone.
I tried to use two different profiles that used to work on my 5 with VODAFONE PORTUGAL, and as such i tried with India-volte-vodafone and with telefonica_uk_Commercial.
None of them gave me working VOLTE with Vodafone Portugal.
For both of them I activated sub0 and then sub1 and confirmed that the status on PDC shows as active, then rebooted but phone is not showing VOLTE enabled. And under the SIM settings the VOLTE switch is enabled.
Any ideas? Maybe a different profile?
