I forgot to copy it out of the cache folder, but I went ahead and took the update. I'm getting horrible battery life now. I'm thinking about rolling back to nk2. It would be nice if a dev could dig into the oh3 file and extract the part that patches the stagefright vulnerability and somehow make that available for folks that don't want the oh3 update. Maybe the horrible battery life is just me, but it's bad enough that I'll probably roll back soon.

I don't have the update.zip as I did a clean flash. The entire OH3 package is available at SamMobile.

hi Jimmbomb, with T315, you should be first in q for the update
please let us know once you have KK available as I hope T310 is next in line for update
best of Luck
I think what usually happens is the source code is posted by Samsung before an OTA update is rolled out.
Might be worth checking here every so often - http://opensource.samsung.com/reception/receptionSub.do?method=search&searchValue=SM-T315
You can change the end value to T310 & T311 to check those models as well.

Hmm... Not sure you can flash those source zips if that's what your referring to? Never actually downloaded one off there before though.
I was just pointing out that usually Samsung uploads something on there beforehand & then an OTA update on the device follows sometime after that.

Just checked. It is the NF4 update. Lost root though.
Anyone knows how to extract things out of the ota zip file that I can use with Mobile Odin?
I kept a backup of the OTA zip just in case.
I'll do it and post here if anyone can tell me how to do it.

I'd be interesting in taking a look at that zip - I'm not sure if I'd be any help on making it Mobile Odin-able though
Any idea what it does I just updated myself?

Looking at the contents of the ZIP file, it looks like an updated bootloader and modem for the purpose of securing Samsung KNOX.
This is just my opinion, but I think it's to patch the exploit so that it doesn't necessarily make rooting impossible, but makes it easier to to trip KNOX warranty

NF4 is already up on Samfirmware.com! i'm not sure how to link it, the URL is just samfirmware.com
Just wanted to add that SuperSu's keep root doesn't work over this OTA.
Update: NF4 Rooted with KNOX 0x0.
Downloaded NE6 from sammobile, flashed with odin, got root again. {optional. Only if you were foolish enough to update over OTA like me and lost root}
Then downloaded NF4 from sammobile. Triangle away and flashed NF4 with Mobile Odin. Bootloader didn't stick.
So created my own NF4 bootloader: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5342527/bootloader.tar.md5
PS: If this fails, just flash bootloader for NE6 or NF1 from other thread.
it contains an updated bootloader, updated modem, updated kernel, and patches some system files (to hopefully squash some bugs).
I'm currently downloading the full package so I can tear it into pieces like I did for NF1, since most of the things in NF4 update.zip are patches and not full versions.

Since kernels and modems really have nothing to do with
the systemui or anything else which is related to any themes
it will have no effect on it at all.
Good luck!

It's been a while since I've updated my GS6... I am lazy and do not keep up with my updates as diligently as I should. However, I felt the motivation today...
Until I saw this post. Guess I am going to need to procrastinate some more until the latest TAR is out...
I am on this firmware. Is it the very latest?
I got this update too, hoping it would help with my **** battery life, but sadly it seems to have made it worse
Where is the tar file?
Posted the latest TAR file at https://forum.xda-developers.com/sp...uide-links-files-update-root-restore-t3366862
Just a reminder that it doesn't take that long to type "please" and "thank you." We even have a button to say thanks.
Just got offered this. Up through Nov security patch. I'm not on Verizon, FYI since I know they have their own upgrade path.
Nice! I'll have to flash back to stock to see if I can grab the OTA. Also post a screenshot of the "about device" screen once your OTA finishes.

Will do, although I'm traveling for work now and like to do these things when I'm home and settled. Should be able to install on Wed.
Well, I received the OTA as well. I captured the flashable zip file for it, so feel free to sideload away at will. (At your own risk, of course.)

Yeah.. I should have shared that I'm on at&t.
Only took two months for this one.. I'm hoping to see Oreo soon. Seems like it's been rolling out on other Motorola devices from the same generation. I'm really hoping for improved memory management.
Everything else on this device is awesome to me.. except GPS. I don't really understand why it has so much trouble until I start moving for a little bit. Never had issues with any other phone I've owned

Oh... So this means we'll have to wait more for oreo, or may this be a "preparation" for oreo? What does this update brings? I don't have any stability issues..
Well it would make sense to have most devices on the same firmware for a seamless OREO upgrade...
Argh, this is just taking too long unfortunately.

Us RETUS haven't gotten the November patch yet, so it's new to us. I just read what was on the changelog. You may be right about the Oreo preps though.

Did you buy the G5+ directly from Lenovo/Moto unlocked, or through your carrier? There might be a different patchset depending on any carrier the phone might be locked to. Also grab a screenshot of the about device screen if you can.
