I have tried to set the watch to airplane mode and it still can search for wifi and BT devices
I have also turned off wrist gestures, but it still shows the watch face whenever i hold up my arm.
Is this normal? Or am i missing something?

I use my phone with wifi for streaming video at home, if I put the phone into airplane mode and then turn wifi on I obviously save battery but then can't turn on bluetooth to use my BT stereo headphones anyone know of an app that will either just turn off the phone radio or let me turn on both wifi and bluetooth when under airplane mode.
I have spent hours in the market and tried a bunch of apps but nothing lets me turn off the phone radio and not lock bluetooth off.
Anyone know of an app that will handle this?
That is the purpose of airplane mode, to turn off BT and mobile network. You may want to save yourself trouble and turn off airplane mode. Besides, if you plan on using your phone on wifi as well as BT headphones, then you aren't saving any battery. What/who suggested you to regularly turn airplane mode on while using wifi as a battery saving technique? That just makes your phone useless for calls/text though I understand you can use the home phone for calls.
Check out an app called "Better Locale Airplane Mode" in the market. Its 99 cents. I havent used it but you can try it and see if it works.
Cm7 has this natively
-My life is a shooting range, people never change-
"Better Locale Airplane Mode" in the market, does work on my two Android 2.2 phones HTC Incredeble and LG Revolution.
The app sets the behavior options when airplane mode is enabed but does not act as a toggle itself, you use the toggle widgets to change the state of wifi and bluetooth on or off.
There is a nice battery savings to using this when not actually flying and only needing wifi and/or bluetooth
So noticed something odd.
turning airplane mode on and off doesn't change the gps mode switch (which is fine imho, gps is a sensor like the inclinometer or magnetic compass)
BUT, it interferes with apps ability to access the gps data
ie. airplane mode is on, gps switch is on, run an app that uses gps data and it never sees it even though the status bar will say 'searching for gps' but never sees or locks any satellites.
if you turn off airplane mode it works just fine, if you reenable airplane mode it will continue to work.
tried using lgs online chat and got nothing but idiots, first one insisted the gpad didn't have gps that it used wifi and cellular signals to simulate location finally got him to send me to someone else and this guy insisted that airplane mode should disable all communication and that gps was communication then after trying to explain the difference between active transceiver systems and passive sensor systems he abruptly disconnected the chat without saying anything...
suffice to say not too pleased with lg support right now
anyhoo, anyone elses pad doing this?
Is anyone else having issues with the screen turning on without notifications, even while in theater mode? For example, it seems that when my phone switches between having and not having cell service, the screen turns on. This also happens when I'm toggling any settings (such as updating the screen on time, etc) or setting watchfaces in Watchmaker in normal and theater mode. I'd expect the screen to stay off for any and all non-notification actions.
I have a Droid Maxx on 4.4.4 and Moto 360 on 5.0.2 with the latest version of the Android wear app (1.0.5.1724356).
I've noticed the same.
I believe the issues that I saw were directly related to Watchmaker bugs, since they've all been resolved since version 3.4.
Same issue here. Tilt to wake is off. Ambient is off. Not in theater mode. Screen will randomly come on every so often. Tried forcing it by turning WiFi on and off on phone. Switching GPS and cell service, but I can't recreate it. Hmmm
I wear my watch and I'm making a soft drink (example). Screen comes full on but there's no notifications..
I go to do some laundry, screen comes on again but there's no notifications.
I get home and put my bag down, turn on the TV and pick up the PS4 controller, screen comes on again but there's no notifications.
I want to check the time on my watch so I hold my wrist up to my face. Screen stays off. I hold it there for a second, then do something else like put some music on the hifi, whilst still wondering what the time is.
Is there a way to lock the watch so that this feature where it's supposed to tell if you're holding it upright to check the face, can be turned off? It seems I have 2 problems:
1. during my normal every day activities, the watch things I'm trying to check the time and so the screen comes on.
The problem with this is that during my every day activities, I'm not holding the watch upright and then keeping it still. The watch is on my arm and so would be moving around anywhere my arm was going. So, even if for a split second the face did come on, my expectation is that the face should switch off very quickly again once the motion sensors detected my arm being in a different place.
2. when I actually want to check the time sometimes there's a long delay before the screen comes on.
Anyone else have these problems?
I tried double tapping the button on the side as a means to keep the screen off until I want it on, but this also mutes the notifications so that's not good.
I'm assuming that your question is different than 'how do I turn off' the always on screen feature.
Open the android wear app on your phone
Click the gear button in the upper right to bring up the settings window.
Directly under 'Device Settings' where it says 'Huawei Watch' [Connected], click that line.
Under the 'Always-on screen' line is the 'tilt to wake screen' line.
Deselect that option, by default it is on.
My Bluetooth randomly will shut off. I notice that it isn't connecting to my Fitbit and my car and when I check it is off and I have to manually turn it back on. Is there a setting somewhere that is doing this? I don't have any battery saver apps or services running.

Setup android auto, theres a setting in there to enable bluetooth auto, if you dont set it, sometimes bluetooth turns off
