Anyone stayed with Android 4.4.4 with no regrets? - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Title says it all. Love some of the features Lollipop brought (smartlock with my Moto 360, for instance) but battery life is much much worse.
Anyone skipped the 5.0.1 update and dosent have any regrets? Missing anything?
Cheers

Only thing Lollipop has over Kitkat is the tinted statusbar and lock screen card notifications

Suggestion is to just stay with Kit Kat until M comes out , if it does. To me Lollipop is the Vista of Android.

[Q] How to disable Hybrid UI on Paranoid Jelly Bean

Hi.
This is my first post on xda forum.
I was trying Paranoid JB on my Desire. It works well but I can`t disable Hybrid mode.
I choose "Hybrid off" on Workspace settings but after rebooting all remains with no change. I try other Workspace options too, but no effect.
I don´t like how some apps (GMail, System Settings) look with right column + left detail.
Can someone help me.
Thanks.
In this thread are talking about same problem.

Another issue with this rom: when activating plane mode phone reboots automatically.

I think this rom needs to improve many things. I will try it again when more stable release be published.
What other Jelly Bean rom can I install?

[Q] Android 4.4 app bloatware

Hi everyone. This is an interesting question!
Question: Which system apps can be removed in Android 4.4?
I found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1487073
But that is for all Android, but that isn't enough. If there could be general bloatware and specifically for 4.4 (KitKat).
If someone would be so generous and would share with this information!

Playing with the omni rom (4.4) right now and of what I can tell is most of the system/apps can be deleted (with exception of keychain and telephony provider) if u have correct alternatives like a separate launcher camera app and so on...
The majorly imp stuff is in system/priv-app/.... Here u got to be careful

Stock / rooted / custom?

So with our new M8's performing so well out of the box who here still feels the need to root and/or install custom software? (might be a very silly question asking this here at XDA but I was curious who was staying fully stock?)
I am currently running stock - first time in 6 android phones (HD2 - N1 - S2 - S3 - N4 - M8) that I haven't felt the need to root and flash straight away..
Yeah I feel the same way about it too, I'm still undecided. Flashing on the one x was such a ballache. Having to need a pc to flash

Sense is so nice I don't think I'll feel the need to mod any time soon.
Im running stock ....but I have the google camera and google launcher and google keyboard and clock ...oh and google gallery ...basically that's all I like apart from lock screen and the default dark theme in settings, so im happy not to root ....still cant get over the fact that need for speed still stutters in places lol ...that's crazy.
Fully stock only because I'm waiting for a warranty replacement lol. As soon as I get my new one I'll try out gpe ROM but something tells me I'll probably be coming back to custom sense. Really like blinkfeed and from what I've heard the camera is better on sense. I'll be back on sense in the fall for sure since I need WiFi calling at school. med school shields the crap out of the buildings

For the first time I think I'll stick with stock as for now... I rooted everything I had, s3, note 2 and lg g2 but now I r don't really think it's necessary. The system is so fluid even with battery saver mode that... I don't see the reason to do that

The only thing that might make me root is to get rid of ads in games, etc.
Apart from that, it's really impressive.

Rooted right away to get rid of navbar and use pie. Using the entire screen ftw.
Yes until new version of android releases then everyone will start jumping around to flash the GPE ROM.

I am still on stock Sense 6, but I rooted just so I could hide the nav bar and take full advantage of the 5" display.
I root and install custom roms for extra mods. Xposed takes care of most of that

Try adding these entries in apn settings and wifi ....need adblock as well. set proxy to manual in modify on wifi ....add localhost to proxy and port 2020 ...do the same in apn settings and reboot. Works for me ...only the occasional add comes through
Stock rooted for me. I like blinkfeed and motion launch (It works 60% of the time but I just keep tapping the screen till it wakes) on sense 6. Root for custom kernel (elementalx) and navbar removal to get that extra pixel space when browsing on the web. The only thing that is keeping me from liking this phone is that the battery is non-serviceable.
Agreed

I too am stock sense with SU and Xposed installed. Root/Xposed is nice because I use the notification clear app and the Verizon m8 wifi notification is so persistant. I will prob try Viper here soon

[Q][REQUEST] Stock G2 camera app for LG G3

Hello all,
Can someone help me by porting the stock G2 camera app to the LG G3, it would be awesome, a superior camera shooting pics using a superior app.
So pls help me porting this app.
Thx in advance,
Koen van Zuijlen
Will be nice. The g3 camera app sucks. I'm using Google camera by the moment as complement of stock camera. But it's annoying having two apps for one purpose.
