Stagefright patch from other carriers - T-Mobile HTC One (M8)

Since basically every other carrier (AT&T, Verizon, Sprint) have already released Stagefright patches for the M8 and some even M9, rather than wait for T-Mobile's lame pathetic ass to get onboard with security, would it be possible to copy over the patched libraries from the other phones OTAs?
The AT&T update only weighs 28mb total, is it at all possible to extract the libs needed or are we waiting until next year (come on be realistic, you know it's not coming this year) when they decide to release Android M with Sense 7? I could care less about flashy features and other bs that is irrelevant, but for them to just overlook security updates is a real real bad move
What can we do, other than flash to cyanogenmod
MOD EDIT

Further evidence to support T-mobile doesn't care about security, talked to 2 different agents, as well as a phone call. Told them every other major carrier has pushed this update, meaning they received the details, updated their fw, tested the fw, and then deployed it. Both times I was given "we haven't received any details regarding this fix"
Bad way to go, uncarrier. Apparently security is not a priority whatsoever.

Why in the hell is T-Mobile getting a Stagefright patch before vanilla h815?

I just dont get it. The device manufacturers always want to blame the carriers for patch delays. So here I am sitting on my international H815(eu) figuring since this is a broad scope device it will get the update before the carriers specific devices. Then today I see T-Mobile's model is getting a stagefright update. WTH?!!? Anyone got any good insight on whats going on here?
No idea, but I'm a little irritated too. Seems like it would make MORE sense to push the update to unlocked, unbranded US devices before T-Mobile for testing simply because there are presumably less of us.
My guess (and probably wrong) is that TMo was picked to do the roll out, in batches, so that if there are any issues, it can be stopped & rectified quickly. The patch would be tested on one phone variant & one carrier.
Also, the risk of this affecting someone is very low.
I just flashed the KDZ...
Can't you guys do the same?

What happened to LG's promise to provide monthly security upgrades?

We live in times when everyone can use exploit or vurnerability to hack others phone.
LG promised to provide monthly security upgrades to their phones, but it seems they lied. LG G4 EUR version and many others has not seen official security update in months (7 months now).
All LG does is that they randomily provide semi-newer upgrades to country based ROMs (thailand for example) and those upgrade still do NOT SOLVE security vurn. (Stagefright etc.)
My questions is, what the hell happened with their promise?
In corporate we NEED secured phones, has LG forgotten about their customers?
You know what would make it easier to provide updates for phones?
If they didn't make ten million different models of the same phone.

Absolutely nothing, it seems to have been a straight out lie to keep and gain customers. So bad. Been using LG for a while, but I don't think I will be doing for much longer.

Does/Will HTC 10 support 256/64 QAM?

Would be interesting to know if HTC 10 will support 256/64 QAM technology as Galasy s7/edge do after recent software update by T-Mobile.

I'm guessing it refers to America rather than anywhere else, since it mentioned Verizon and so on. But it sounds like fancy marketing basically saying that they've improved thier signal lol.
I sure hope so. I'm keeping an eye out for an upgraded modem.img file as part of an OTA package.

AT&T S9 G960U Not Recieving OTA Updates - AT&T Acknowledged Issue?

I've been browsing around on this forum for the better part of a month (along with a good amount of google searches) to figure out why my S9 hasn't received an OTA update since July 2018.
Background info just so I don't receive the same old "did ya check if there was a firmware update available??":
I am using an S9 SM-G960U
I have been on AT&T for about 8 years now, always receiving updates until now
I have checked a multitude of times for an update in the settings menu. I am in the US, and have good connection to AT&T towers and using an AT&T sim.
I have tried a factory reset, it didn't work
current version i'm on is G960USQU3ARG2, July 1, 2018 security version
Not interested in flashing with Odin yet until this gets figured out or I have no options left
tried updating though smartswitch (just for the sake of it, knew it wouldn't work anyway- AT&T doesn't provide updates through it)
even tried using a my roommate's active Verizon SIM card just in case - confirmed phone is locked to AT&T
I haven't come up with much, but have seen at least a few other people that have the same problem and decided to bite my tongue and call AT&T device support...results surprised me- The AT&T rep actually flat out told me "this is a known issue" with the S9 and Note 8, and that he'd escalate the issue and blah blah blah...seemed like good news for me until I decided to ask "is there a known fix?", which received a much less straight forward answer: something along the lines of "well we are working on it and you'll hear back in about 24 hrs. Fingers crossed.
I'll post an update when I hear back from AT&T, hopefully with something more than just "your issue has been escalated"....
Anyone else have this issue? Or have dealt with AT&T already regarding this?
I'm in the same boat, though a month behind with June being my latest update. I've done a factory reset and tried (several times) clearing the Google Services Framework data and cache, restarting the phone each time. I spent almost an hour on a call with AT&T...they acknowledged the problem and tried to force an update, then waffled and told me that the Pie update is rolling out slow and to be patient. Sammobile doesn't have the AT&T-specific firmware, otherwise I might be tempted to go that route.

at&t has always been kinda weird about its specific firmware vs the rest of the big players. You could flash any carriers firmware if youre not remiss in losing the at&t specific stuff. I find the vast majority of carrier firmware to be garbage personally, but it might be useful for some folks.

Thanks for confirming that, and I won't miss the AT&T bloatware one bit!

Network Band Selection No Longer Available

Ever since I had the Note 10+ 5g, I had been able to use the band selection app to open the hidden menu which would allow me to select which bands to connect to and which bands to avoid. This was particularly important as Band 3 (1800Mhz) would give me the worst speed and is at the same time the band/frequency the phone connects to constantly. Band 3 is also the band which makes it difficult to get a 5g connection.
I just received the May 2022 update for my phone and I decided to update due to the camera stability improvements. After completing the update I notice that my phone is no longer connected to 5g. I check the band the phone is connected to and notice it connected to Band 3. Thinking I may have forgot to turn off the Band 3, I try opening the band selection app to which it gives and error that it can't find the hidden menu.
I don't know why the menu has suddenly disappeared or been disabled, but it is a very important feature for me. Could anyone explain what's going on?
NOTE:
Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5g (N976B) (UK)
Same Problem here but off course no one cares. This was to good to be true and working for so long time. Using galaxy note 20 ultra 5g and as you say with some latest update they removed or changed/renemaded the hidden network settings. No access possible. This is a big problem for me couldn't use my phone anymore because it forced me to the damn Telekom b8 Band where I have almost nothing around 100kb/s. This is rediculus the automatic Band selection chooses the strongest lte band but without bandwidth. If I switch to band 3 I get 2 bars and over 100mb down
how to unlock network band in samsung galaxy m21. after security patch update.
Rule #1 - if an OS is fast, stable and fulfilling its mission... let it be!
Upgrades and updates can and do break Samsung's especially on older models. Then instead of a fully functional device you are forced to waste time trying find a work around. Malware would cause far less trouble than this!
At the very least wait at least a few months before upgrading so you can see how it's working in the wild rather than depending on promises that may never be fulfilled.
You can try Samsung members forum.
Otherwise contact Samsung tech support or take it to a Samsung Experience center at a Best Buy.
If the menu is truly inaccessible (do you have the right access code, it may have changed?), all you can do is wait for the patch from Samsung.
An adb edit may be possible.
Otherwise you can reflash to the last known good firmware version and don't update!
yaesudx don't blame others for what you did. You knew the upgrade/update could be dangerous when you took it. If not you learned a valuable lesson... the hard way.

Try asking Dr.Ketan
I'm have zero experience flashing Androids. I've flashed a bunch of firmware but Androids are a lot harder than most devices. The last thing you want is a hard bricked N10+
I don't see any option to enable network band. becoz it has been disabled by samsung.
