I have installed xposed also gravitybox for my phone. Is there setting that can make my phone go into a bootloop? If so how can I fix it from that. I'm on vacation and don't have my computer with me. I'm just curious if I can fix it without a computer on me if it goes on a loop

GravityBox is meant for AOSP ROMs, so yes, there are many settings that can cause your phone to bootloop and/or act up. Can you get into the OS at all? I changed some lockscreen settings and whenever I woke the display up it would immediately turn back off, but when I first turn the phone on I was able to get in and disable it before it fully loaded.

Hey guys,
So I have the WiFi problem with my S3; whenever the phone goes into sleep, it for some reason needs to cycle the WiFi connection when waking.
This is incredibly annoying - whenever the phone goes into sleep, I have a 5 second freeze before I can actually unlock it due to the wifi dropping and such.
So the solution when I was on TouchWiz was simple: enter the service mode, through the phone menu, doing *#0011#, and turning off WiFi Power Save.
Now this is all fine and dandy (even though that stupid setting wouldn't stick on reboot, I could always re-enable it) but now that I've flashed CM9, doing the *#0011# code doesn't work anymore - nothing comes up at *all*.
I'm on the current nightly (7/24). Now I'm no Android expert or anything, but I *think* I need the Service Mode application from Samsung to access the service mode menu.
I have backed it up through TitaniumBackup, but I can't restore it. It seems to hang whenever I restore it, which I would think is expected since I did get a warning that I wouldn't be able to restore system apps on a different ROM.
Can anyone help? Is there a way to do that? Or to at least turn off WiFi Power Save, even if it's temporary?
+1 same problem with cm10. Driving me absolutely insane.

im having the same issue on CM9 ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1633198 ) on HTC Wildfire S marvelc. the regular VM ##847446 isnt working.
any devs care to shed some light?
So, I feel like I should preface this with the full realization that I am an idiot.
Now that that's out of the way, here's what happened.
This thing runs crazy slow, and I heard HTC Sense (Amongst other things) slows it down. So, I Unlocked the bootloader and rooted my CDMA Virgin Mobile One V using the steps here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1751004
Afterwards, I tried to flash a rom of CGM 10, which didn't work. When I attempted to boot into recovery mode both from ROM manager and from the bootloader, I got a phone with a red ?. I tried a few times, couldn't figure it out, so, I gave up on the roms.
Then I found out you can uninstall apps using titanium backup. I uninstalled an app related to sense. I'm not sure which one exactly. After this, my home button stopped working. Upon realization, I did a factory reset through the bootloader, thinking it would resolve the issue. Now, when I boot the phone, the htc screen shows, the VM screen shows, then it goes black. The indicator light is flashing like I have a notification, however. Additionally, when I received a message on facebook, my phone vibrated. My theroy is that the phone is working in the background, but just don't display anything on screen.
When I use vol down + power to attempt to load into the bootloader, the phone just turns on and displays the symptoms above. I don't know of another way to get into the boot loader so that I can attempt to flash an RUU. Am I totally screwed here?
Good news is that I have my old Optimus V as a backup, but the thing is ancient and I'd really prefer to get my One back up and running. If the one is a turtle, speed-wise, my Optimus is a gargoyle.
Oh, and for the record, *facepalm*.
Update: I plugged the phone in to charge, and the unlock ring came up. I am able to get into the settings and notifications from the top bar, but the home screen still won't come up. I still can't get into the bootloader, either.

I guess ur best shot is to get new rom flashed or use some nandroid.

Sounds like you removed the Sense launcher which displays your apps, wallpaper, etc. I would try flashing another rom

Just reflash the ROM you were on WITHOUT full wipe
Just trying to see if anyone else had this problem. I'm on Darthstalker v1. I also have xposed installed. Lately when I answer a call the screen immediately turns off and will not come back on unless I press the power button. Sucks that restores don't work yet cause otherwise I would just backup flash to stock and make sure it's not HW failure, then flash right back.

You can still do that just don't restore with your nandroid. Install online nandroid backup and make a nandroid then odin to stock. Re root and install nandroid manager. Use it to restore your apps, texts, calls, ect from the nandroid
Don't know if this helps or not...but I'm completely stock, not rooted, and I'm having the same problem. The screen will turn off when I put it next to my face during a phone call, but won't turn back on unless I hit the power button. Occasionally, if I'm in a call where I have to hit numbers at different times and I've already turned the screen on manually once, it will completely lock me out - I can push the power button, menu button, etc and the screen will still stay black. My next option is a factory reset, but I want to avoid that if possible. Did you ever get it figured out?
I had the same problem with my first note 3. Using dialer code *#0*# enter the sensor test menu hold your hand over proximity sensor and the value should change to 1 along with the adc increase. Remove and the value should change back to 0. If it doesn't the proximity sensor is faulty.
Tmobile should exchange for new replacement free of charge if you are still within the new exchange/return period, 14 days if bought in person, and 20 days if online or over the phone. If past the exchange period you will probably have to deal with Samsung.

Hi i have this supper anoying problem after 5.0.2 update! So basicaly What it does is when ever i will pick up the phone it would turn off like the screen would dim (not rebbot or shut down) and after a little tapping on a screen it would turn on again and sometimes when it does that it would glitch a little. While typing this it happened twice its sooooo anoying idk what to do now if i wont find any solutions i will just buy samsung galaxy or something like that. Also my carrier is Virgin Mobile thanks
Same problem, same phone.
Definitely annoying! Seems random but especially while rotating for me. I have not been able to dig up any solutions thus far.
Check out your proximity sensor settings in the HTC testing app, or try Gravity screen. Mine did the same thing a couple times, also clean off your screen at the very top left, if you look real good you can see the sensor just under the front camera hole in the glass, also sometimes a screen saver will mess with this sensor. One more thing is the stock lock screen can cause an issue similar to what you are talking about, hope one of these help yo out, cane0716

hi
thanks for information i already gave that phone to my friend and i think he fixed it by actually having different lock screen i currently have samsung galaxy s5 its wayyyy better lol
Phone turns off during use and will not complete boot unless plugged to charger even when the battery is almost full.
This error started last night after I did factory reset because of observed phone lag. I did mistakenly "wiped internal storage" but got the alert of "no OS during reboot", so I restored from my backup from SD.
the phone started properly but went off during initial setup and will go back off each time I tried turning it back on. I thought it was battery so I plugged it to power.
it did boot but will go back off once I have few touches on the screen.
I had to leave it plugged to setup my accounts else it will go off.
I'm using its Wi-Fi to send this message via my PC because any 2 - 3 touches will switch the phone off.
once it does that, it won’t even boot to bootloader before it goes off again unless plugged to power.
what I do to solve this please??
I have the T-Mobile G4 and every time I reboot the phone, WiFi turns on. I never use WiFi and so always leave it powered off, yet still on a reboot I know it's going to be turned back on.
Does this happen to others as well? Any idea why or how to keep it off?
Nobody has this issue?
I have a T Mobile H811 G4 and this happens to me too... In fact both data and Wifi get enabled... No idea about how to keep it off here...
Tmobile my account app then menu options then manage Wi-Fi then uncheck. Your welcome
