Nandroid Backup?
Hi all,
Just installed ROM manager with TWRP, just trying to do a nandroid backup before I run Xposed. When I try to manually enter recovery mode through ROM manager, it gets me to a screen with an android that says "No Command". Not sure where to go from here, any help?
Go to TWRP manager and from the menu select reboot, and hit recovery.
You can also use TWRP manager to do a backup directly from the app. Or download OBackup from XDA (The apk is on one of the last pages of the main thread).

Main thread?
AFAIK, TWRP isn't working on the Verizon G4 - No unlocked bootloader.

What's up with the new version of ClockworkMod? Anyone know why or what its about? Any fixes? Or is this the new (required) CWM version because of CM7?

Just an updated version, I have had no problems using it. Been out for a little bit now.
I could not flash to the update for MIUI with the CWM update (which was orange once booted to recovery ) there is an option to go back to an older version

Over in the Mytouch4g threads there is a new version 3.0.0.6 which will be backwards compatible with both Edify and Amend scripts.

ROM Manager Premium v3.0.0.7 is the version of the ROM Manager app itself, Clockworkmod Mod is still at 3.0.0.5.
is there something wrong with it for you? Im not having any problems.
why they doesn't insert the 3.0.0.5 version inside the app? they're still at 2.7.0.5

I used ROM Manager to switch from Amon's Recovery to Clockwork so that I can utilize ROM Manager. Bought the premium version for the nightlies (yeah I'm that lazy), however, it looks like I don't have a recovery now. Anytime I try to boot to recovery, I end up at the bootloader. I select recovery from the bootloader and I'm back to the bootloader.
Any thoughts?

I never use Rom Manager, I like to do everything manually - less room for error. Plus I'm using Amon Ra, so I couldn't use it anyway. I've heard of some people having issues flashing recoveries from Rom Manager. You'll need to get a PC36IMG.zip of the recovery you want (I have CWM & AR in my dropbox, I'll link you to them) and put it on the root of your SD. Don't rename it. Boot into bootloader, wait a second and it'll ask you to update. Choose yes with the volume up button. When it finishes, you should have your recovery.

When you get to the bootloader, it should search for PC36IMG.zip and then put you in a menu with ~5 options, one of them is recovery. Use the volume button to get to that, press power to select. It will reboot to the white screen, then load into the recovery.
If that doesn't work you may have a buggered up recovery. If you can boot the phone the first thing to try would be to open ROM Manager and try to re-flash Clockwork Recovery or hit "Flash Alternate Recovery" to install Amon's RA Recovery.
If you can't boot the phone, then you will need to do stuff from adb or fastboot.
EDIT:
If you can boot the phone, you may want to try installing through ROM Manager, but otherwise plainjane's idea is probably way better than messing with ADB or Fastboot if you aren't used to them.

Just flashed Leedroid over Cyanogen 7 had ETX4 recovery on this rom,the recovery has defaulted back to CWM when booting Leedroid,i've used android flasher to re-install EXT4 onto Leedroid, yet each time i boot into recovery it defaults back to CWM?
Incidentally i've also lost the ability with Leedroid to boot into recovery via power and vol-,i can only access recovery on this rom via rom manager.
Solutions greatly appreciated,i've also searched and found nothing conclusive?
This is because Rom manager is using fake flash recovery on reboot. Power down your phone and start bootloader with volume down and power button. Then select recovery and voila you are in the right recovery

Right installed fake flash as instructions.........delete updates.zip in all CWM files and sd card.
Then ran update.zip and get EXT4 recovery, reboot fone and try recovery again and am returned to CWM.

The only option i can see this and i'm unsure if its correct is,settings - power - fast boot (turn off to use some market apps)
Tried it still no recovery from power/vol-
I was using TWRP through Goomanager and thought I would give CWM a try also . I prefer TWRP , but can't get back to it as my default recovery. I uninstalled goomanager and downloaded again from the market. When I try flashing a rom from goomanager, it still brings up CWM as recovery. The backup rom files I had in twrp won't open in CWM. How can I restore trwp? thank you
To install twrp again just open goomanager, hit the menu key and from there select 'install open recovery script.'

Can't believe it was that easy! Thank You!!:good:
Ok, it seems as though I'm having problems with Rom Manager. When I go to reboot after installing a rom, sometimes it takes me to another screen where it says "yes-disable flash recovery" but then I go to "back" to go back to the main screen to reboot, but it reboots either way. Now, I go back to recovery and it doesn't have clockwork recovery.

Try updating your recovery, or reflash cwm in Odin.
CWM is asking you to disable the automatic flashing of stock recovery. Do it.
I would just get rid of Rom Manager... There's really no need to have it. Sorry, just my opinion...

Try this,
Here is the easiest fix:
First install a fresh copy of Superuser from the google play store. (free download)
Then install "TWRP recovery.
To install TWRP you need to install "GooManager" first which is a free download from the google play store.
Once installed, simply click the menu softkey on your phone and select "Install OpenRecoveryScript"
It's that easy.
Most likely you have a corrupted CWM in your phone which is missing files or some of the files in it are corrupt..
If GooManager pops up asking for root access and you allow it then TWRP recovery will fix your issues I am sure.
P.S. With PowerGoo and TWRP installed there really is no good reason to use Rom Manager at all.
Good Luck!

Now whenever I try to go into recovery mode, I have the samsung logo which breaks down. After a while it will boot and I can use it. It's not bricked. It just won't go into recovery. I have installed Titaniumbackup and ROM manager and I don't know what to do. The cwm that I flashed through Odin said cmw6 but when I choose the version on ROM manager for recovery setup, I chose ClockworkMod 3.x+ and my phone says current recovery at cwm 5.x.x.x and I still can't acces recovery mode! Please help it is very frustrating for me. Thank you for reading.

my phone is doing the same thing. i rooted it and then i tried to boot into recovery to install a ROM. the logo comes up and then shakes all over the place and then goes to a black screen. then nothing. i have to press the power button and it boots up normally to the regular phone. i downloaded goo manager and tried to install a recover but it loads for a second and then says no recovery found.
is there a way to install a custom rom using odin? i can bypass recovery using odin right? or does that not work?

You can install a custom recovery using Odin (twrp being one of them). Very few roms are installed using Odin.

Open Odin, uncheck everything except f reset time. Flash TWRP. When you see the word "reset" in the status window, remove USB cable from the phone, remove battery, replace battery, use buttons to boot into recovery.
Thnx for reply.before I saw your reply,I tried the rashr app from playstore.it worked first try.i had tried goomanager, quick boot and some of the other apps with no luck.
Thnx again.now I can flash a more current rom.
