Towelroot for LG G4?? - Verizon LG G4

Found this article Monday morning. Not sure if this is a hoax/fake. Trying to get conformation either way. The site itself has yet to post any reviews.

Can this please die already?

There is a root guide on the general G4 forum, go there to root. These "one click root" methods with generic instructions are either 100% bull, or they will tell you that you need to pay money as your device can't be rooted using one click.

Has anyone tried this? I don't think a 1-click root is viable as of now.

I've used towel root on a Verizon galaxy s5 with no issues. No spam, no ransom, no click bait. If anything download the apk directly from the towel root site: https://towelroot.com

That's because the S5 was the intended phone (and worked for others) for this method. It specifically uses a vuln in a certain CVE.

So towelroot doesn't work with the Canadian LG G4 h812, at least it doesn't for me. Says that 'This phone isn't currently supported'

** Root achieved for 98.30.1 9.8.1Q-94-1 **

k1mu has created a USABLE root tool for the RAZR M, originally intended on the Samsung S4.
Low and behold it works on our latest firmware 98.30.1, 9.8.1Q-94-1.
There are many others that have confirmed that this works as well as me.
<MOD EDIT> Visit the original thread HERE
Credits go to k1mu.
Make sure the device is connected via USB to a computer and make sure USB debugging is enabled.
Simply unzip, and run the .bat file and follow the instructions.
Good luck!
I don't get it. Are you going to keep your attachment in sync with his? He has updated 16 times in a year.
Plus an update is due anytime for us in particular.

Do not take me wrong, I am the king of attachment whores, but I could not help pointing out a key issue here.
You did not even put a link to the Op!:

Edit If I came on & saw your op about this topic, I would not have created another. I would contribute to yours....

I agree. Without the detailed directions in the original post in the VZ S4 forum, important directions to make this work is lost.
For example, I'm going to be posting directions this weekend that will allow this to work on a number of devices without using adb.
I'm trying to make this better, run on more devices, make it faster, etc... I can't be managing snapshots all over the forums.
Yeah, I know, it's exiting to have root. Let's not complicate it unnecessarily.

Thanks RikRong for saying that. Noone has mentioned that so far cause everyones excited about root. Root aint much if you still have to use SafeStrap. I runnign what my M originally came with and im hoping the Kit Kat update doesnt re-lock it.

Because the droid maxx/ultra/mini got kit kat in mid December. If you go to their site and go to the update page we are next to get it considering all other high end or 'newer' phones have got it

I figured people would probably still ask about the BL. However, you can still do a lot of tweaking on the stock ROM if you are rooted.
Thank you mod for the edit! I haven't been on here since. I was in no way taking any credit for this.

Have you tried stump root? This won't brick your phone, just won't work if not compatible.

Bump, anyone has any idea on this Chinese phonw? Can't seem to get the common root tools provided to work
Towelroot..works on many devices. Won't hurt to try. Just Google it. Open it and hit button. Its apk. Its fast. If your phone doesn't reboot automatically it worked. Then reboot and check. Let me know.

Stump won't root your G3? I thought it definitely rooted all our G3s. Does it just say it's incompatible? I'd go to the Stump thread and ask there, if that's true I'm sure JCase would like to know if he doesn't already.

Possible root??

Hi guys, like all of you i have been waiting patiently for root on my VZW Note 4. Upon doing a little research i found that Chainfire has rooted the note 4. I went to his website to see if the SM N910V is compatible and according to the site...it is!!!!!.......
Can someone please verify if this will work on the retail version on the VZW SM N910V.
Thanks

You may brick your device. It is of course possible to bring your device back from such a disaster but you can avoid that by acknowledging that the Dev. Edition has an unlocked bootloader unlike the retail Verizon model which is why it was easier to root. I would wait for another method.

[Q] Temporary Root?

Has anyone tried any methods on the G4? I havn't found any specific information for this device other than somebody saying it can be done.
Z4root?
Wondershare?
iRoot?
1. i dont think anyone tried any of those, brcause the devs saying that there is no root yet
2. if you want you can try it out
Someone in the AT&T forum tried oneclickroot.com and his phone is bricked. If there was root available for any variant other than the 815, we would all be rooting right now.

Well put. And the devs. Are currently working on trying to simplify for people to root, and less chances of people bricking their phone. So we just have to be patient and let the devs do what they are good at. Once they figure it out it will be all over xda. Until then lets just be patient.

Still the safest and THE only safe source of rooting IS XDA. Don't linger around on other weird 'we root all' apps/sites!

First of all you're in the wrong thread, this is for AT&T devices and your SM-N920V is a Verizon device which cannot be rooted as of yet and I suggest you use the Verizon thread to avoid confusing people and flashing stuff for the wrong device.
Ii belive users were waiting for an update and if they made the update available to download away from the phone. Update was required so users could build a root for att galaxy note 5. From what I read
