Error messages?
Can you give us the error message and Windows version? I have seen some problems with XP preventing the drivers from installing.
Hello XDA forums,
I have had nothing, but problems install TWRP on my Kindle fire version 6.3.2. I have installed the drivers on windows 7 and when i connect my kindle fire. In device manger the kindle fire displays as "Android Phone", at the top showing the drivers are correctly installed. The problem is anytime i run the install.bat file to install TWRP my kindle fire is stuck on the Logo and in the command prompt it just says "<waiting for device>"... The install.bat file will be stuck here until i close out of it. I then i have a unbootable kindle fire which i boot up linux and run the SoupKit application to fix the kindle fire boot mode, so it can boot propertly. Can anyone help me figure out why i can't install TWRP on my kindle fire? I was thinking about doing a factory reset and starting over to see if that works?
Anyone help out?
Update "After trying 3 different computers i finally found success with my desktop running windows 8.1. I had to modify the driver signing feature and disable ti in order for my kindle fire to be recognized in fast boot. I honestly have no idea why the drivers seem to work on windows 8.1 x64 along with recognizing my kindle fire in fast boot. My windows 7 laptop and linux even was having troubles installing TWRP on my kindle fire. The windows 7 laptop was unable to recognized Kindle Fire Utility and my kindle fire wouldn't show up in device manger." I Was luckly after messing with kindle fire and drivers for about 6 hours i finally found one pc to work.
I am brand new to rooting so please excuse the noob naiveté. I rooted my original version Kindle Fire with the stable version of Cyanogenmod 10.1.3. Everything went well until I tried to connect my Fire to my Windows 7 computer via USB cable. The computer will not connect to the Kindle Fire. When I go to the Device Manager I see the Kindle Fire listed as "Kindle" but I cannot communicate with the device. As per some other suggestions on the web I uninstalled the Kindle driver and tried to let Windows 7 install the correct driver. This has not worked. I tried to uninstall the current driver and use an older driver from Kindle Fire Utility 0.9.6 (I originally used version 0.9.8) but this too failed to be reconized and connect. Can anyone help me get my computer to recognize my Kindle Fire so I could transfer files? Thank you all in advance.

You should get a notification on the kindle when you plug it into the computer, you'll have to tap the notification to bring up a screen with the android guy and a button that says something along the lines of enable file transfer or enable usb our something, been a while don't remember lol, anyway click that and you should have it pop up on the pc for file share

Under windows 10(x64), run the Kindle Fire ADB drivers.exe, the windows always prompt the failure of driver installation.
Any suggestion for this problem?
Thanks.
