If you have root, then you CAN change the platform.xml file of course.
So be sure your device is rooted (maybe check it with this app.
you can enable sdcard access on two ways:
1. install sdcard fix from playstore
2. do it manually in platform.xml (root is necessary - see above) like described in this article.
Thx, concerning Your mentiond app i have root. But i can still not modify or save the platform.xlm nor can the sddix app from the store. I got an errormessage. Any hints?

Selinux block access to the internal storage - result (can not open any file on internal storage ; file not exist ; many other problems). Problem cause - diferent android version. From these reason NEVER use internal storage to store your important private data!!! Instead buy an external storage with more gb, for example 32gb ! If you not allready know, Sony pc companion software all time format internal storage, and its WITH REASON! Switching between diferent android versions ALWAYS require FULL format of the everything - CLEAN INSTALL, which mean you must format userdata including INTERNAL STORAGE everytime since internal storage is part of the userdata partition! If you not doing that than you must expect problems! If you restore backups from diferent android version allso except the same problems! Always restore beckups if backup is from the same rom like your backup, backup from another rom + not the same rom = problem! Hope things clear.
Thx. I flashed a new .108 and inkl. the wipe. Now system is running smothley and everything is fine.

I probably wouldn't mess with those. MTP is Media Transfer Protocol which I believe is used in moving data from your computer to your phone, so I wouldn't mess with that one.
As for TMOSync, it probably keeps you phone book up to date.
I deleted the MtpApp and I still can choose Media transfer mode (did not try it out tho as I don't need it anyway).
I believe the system app to manage the media transfer mode, to be com.sonyericsson.mtp 1.0
TMOSync Service - let me have a wicked guess, you have T-Mobile as provider
I think it's save to also delete this one - if you can spare the synchronisation with the T-Mobile service.
If you are unsure about system apps, simply do a backup of the files -> delete.
As you can see I have O2 as provider so I can delete the second app?

well.... FAIL
all I can tell you is that I don't have the TMO Sync Service, and my phone works perfectly + I don't 'miss' anything so I would say yes
I have been using directory bind for a while, And now with my zl was working great until i updated to 4.2.2. It says that the direcctions are good but when i Open a game it starts to download it from the web. So i decided to go back to. 253 when everything was fine.

Yes, I do not work as well.
I just tried as well, it seems to be doing the job but the apps are all trying to redownload the data from the web. I believe I am running the latest Directory Bind version but if it doesn't work, it is definitely a deal breaker for me. I will have to revert back to build 253. I was willing to live with the lag of the the new build until Sony updates it and fixes the bugs because lets face it, it isn't perfect. The battery is still also a problem for me, doesn't seem stable...
If anyone knows how to fix the Directory Bind app on 4.2.2 ... please feel free to share the notion.
16 gig is far from being enough storage space with apps such as Batman that require space of 1.81 gig alone on the phone and I'm an app freak!!
Yup, what i did was to install .253 and everything if fine. I have 28gb of game data plus 5gb of music and 4gb of videos but. The game data was a bug issue for me too bad. So just have to wait if its get solved later on and yeah me too i have the lates directory bind

C'mon guys, no answer for how to use a Link on 4.2.2. I've just tried directory bind and folder mount but still no luck!
Enviado desde mi C6506 usando Tapatalk 2
im pretty sure that with the 4.2 update their is an emulated directory so as to protect vital system stuff and backups.
play around with a file explorer you may find the answer
I dont.know alot of systems but i have tried already some moving but still no luck right now im.stock. 253 and using folder mount (and startimg.to love it). Thanks but if you something i can do i'll try

I use a few things in .423. Foldermount works but I had to run the windows download
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317432
I also use Root Browser to "create shortcuts" which links directories. I primarily use this for Google music's /data/data music storage (why there's no option for external sd saves baffles me)

oohhhh....you can create shortcuts to link directories using Root Browser?? Like...folders outside and beyond /Android/data, /Android/obb, or anything outside of /sdcard0 ??
Please, do elaborate! Tell me more. What's your procedure, if I may kindly ask?
I used to use Directory Bind and now I'm on FolderMount. But this other thing you speak of would be very useful. Do you create a shortcut from /data/data and place that shortcut into /sdcard0 and from there symlink that folder in /sdcard0 into your external sd card? Or do you link from /data/data straight into your external? Or does it work differently? Just taking a shot in the dark here. lol

i've tried that tools but dont work for me, my foldermount doesnt work and battery issue make me revert to 434 :silly:
For music (but should be transferrable knowledge).:
Force close music app
I go to data/data/com.google.music (or whatever the exact name). Move the subfolder "files" to a place on your external SD. Find that folder and choose "create shortcut". Put the shortcut in /data/data/com.google.music/
And it just works. Problems of course happen when you flash a new rom as they break the link
I'm sure a good dev could make a cwm flashable script to move and link certain folders

Before applying the ToolKit remount/reboot fix, were you experiencing reboots on 4.2.2 when trying to use FolderMount?
When I was with 4.1.2 .434, I could use FolderMount to move game data to external sdcard but after I updated to 4.2.2 .423, everytime I pin to mount, my ZL reboots. Had to uninstall it!
Thanks.

Does this method work on any type of folder or just music. I tried with root browser and root explorer. Once I move my game data (Asphalt 7, 1.5gb) to xyz folder on my SdCard and try to create a shortcut in the original /android/obb I get the same error message from both apps saying "operation failed, most SdCards do not permit this".
I was hoping that this method was going to be a replacement for directory bind on 4.2.2.
Now I'm sad again....A lot of game data is just too damn big. A 16gb phone has about 11gb left of storage after Android is installed. 11gb nowadays is a joke. I hate apple products but at least you have the option of buying an iPhone with 16, 32 or 64 gb of storage. I wouldnt need an SdCard if I had a 64gb of storage on my phone. Thats the only thing I hate about Android phones.
Just my 2 cents....
Well i sold my zl and had. As4 and there fouldermount worked great on 4.2.2 but when i went through 4.3 i had problems but. I had to sell it bow im back to zl and still i cant use fouldeount it rebots my phone for as long as i have that app installed. Why only on s4's 4.2.2 works??

Hi there. In my Xperia ZL 4.2.2 it restarted too. Did u tried the link above that rp3 posted? It worked like a charm for me!!! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317432. Thank you very much!
Guys, some support please..
I have rooted nu Galaxy Ace II with kernel.bin.5 and Messi 10. It was working fine until automated application update from Google Play store for several applications happened. After this system collapsed. As far as I can go now is recovery mode but it does not allow to mount SD card (Can't mount /sdcard/), therefore I cannot install... Factory reset won't do as well: unknown volume: /data; unknown volume: /cache.
Can you point me in the right direction please?
I don't think that this is the problem, but for being sure, did you look if your SD Card is still working?
(but normally it shouldn't impact system... )

If you want to mount in recovery you have to leave the text lines like:
-unmount data
- unmount sdcard
Cause what you read is that what happend if you tab on the line!

yeah, never had problems with this but this time is different, i.e. while attempting factory reset it comes back with:
unknown volume "/data"
unknown volume "/cache"
unknown volume "/sdcard/.android_secure"
it replies that way with almost every option in recovery mode I try to execute..
I take no credit for this amazing equalizer. All credits go to @zhuhang and the people from his thread for the convolvers.
If you don't know what V4A is check here for more details.
But basically it's an audiophiles dream that can cause serious hearing loss and such audio enjoyment at the same time!
The Zip has all the files included to enable "neon" support for convolvers, which are also included.
The feedback I've received so far is 100% success.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1) DOWNLOAD THE ZIP
2) FLASH IN RECOVERY (no need to uninstall if you already have viper installed)
3) open the app and you will be prompted to install the drivers. (I always choose the top one, although it does consume more batter, we'll worth it)
The EQ can be either super simple with just the basic adjustments or can get really technical in "expert" mode.
To activate the convolvers hit the 3 dots in the top right and click click the "ui settings" and change it to expert
Current version Download and discussion starts here
UPDATE VERSION 2.4.0.1 Neon Enabled + Convolvers
If using my previous zip version a simple flash of the new zip will update your V4A.
If you are running any version other than the one in my previous zip you will need to follow the steps below to ensure a smooth update to 2.4.0.1.
1) uninstall current driver from Viper by selecting the option is the app or use file manager and delete "libv4a_fx_ics.so" from system/lib/soundfx.
2) wipe data app with application manager or TiBackup
3) uninstall your current V4A
4) Flash to new zip
5) boot up and enjoy
6) hit the thanks button.
old version
Viper4Android neon enabled including convolvers
Enjoy!
Not working for me on MM rom. Says "Conflicted" in status.
Gonna try method from the old thread as it worked for me before.
Thanks for the effort anyway ?

To fix the empty directory error (which has happened to me on G925FXXU3DPAD), simply copy all the convolver .irs and .wav files from whereever you see them to /data/media/legacy/ViPER4Android/Kernel/ with a root browser, and you will notice the directory is indeed empty if it exists at all (at least it was in my case). I believe that with the MM changes to how the internal SD is mounted (again), V4A's old location check fails, sorta.
Hope this helps!

Hello... I rooted my 5T yesterday via TWRP and Magisk 14.5, but after it rebooted I checked my storage and all I have listed is

and I can't copy anything to the internal storage always get a "Failed" right away..some of my Google apps won't install either???

If you unlocked your bootloader, then it would have wiped the internal storage.
