My List of Inexpensive Accessories

I have all these items and I can tell you that they work wonderfully. The car charger is especially nice. If you find something good feel free to post it and I'll add it to the list here up top.
Car Charger - $5.85 - Motorola 950ma MicroUSB Rapid Rate Smart Charger - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000Y8IH2Q - It has overcharge protection, is an OEM part, and really good quality. Read the reviews to make sure you get the correct one from Amazon not a third party. It charges faster than the Samsung wall charger and shuts off automatically.
Travel Charger - $4.09 - Blackberry 700ma MicroUSB Charger - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001LRPN0S - Has the same exact specs as the Samsung charger. Works great but a the tip is a little wide if you have a thick gel case on.
USB Sync Cable - $1.69 - Blackberry MicroUSB Cable 1.0m - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001QATRCA - Replacement to hook up to your computer or whatever. Supports charging if your USB port can handle it.
3.5mm Audio Cable - $9.36 - iSimple 3.5mm Male-to-Male cable - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0015G5URG - Most expensive thing on the list, but it's really high quality gold plated and nice thick noise-insulated cable, for hooking your audio output to the aux on your stereo, computer or car.
3.5mm Audio Cable - $0.87 - http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10218&cs_id=1021811&p_id=6753&seq=1&format=2 - Retractable for carrying with you anywhere, kindof thin and flimsy but gets the job done for under a buck.
3.5mm to RCA Audio/Video Cable - $3.63 - http://www.amazon.com/6FT-Camcorder-Video-Cable-Sony/dp/B000I1D0BW - Composite video output cable, will let you hook up your phone to a television or other RCA video input.
So yeah, found a great deal on accessories? Post and I'll add it to the list.
Don't forget the video cable from Amazon. Just search for
6FT 3.5 mm to 3 RCA AV Camcorder Video Cable Sony JVC 6
xda won't let me post a link, I guess because I'm new.
why list a retractable 3.5 mm wire and then call it flimsy? just buy a normal one from monoprice.com

Infuse 4g/ Galaxy SIII Vehicle Dock Charging Question

So I am planning on getting the Infuse dock for my S3. I want to hard-wire it in my truck so it is a clean install and wires are not everywhere. My options that I see right now are to splice in a cig lighter socket to the current one or the head unit power and then just plug in the car charger to that and run the wire behind the dash up to the mount.
I am assuming the power adapter that gets plugged into the cig lighter steps the power down from the 12v+ to the 3 or 4v to charge the phone correct? Or is this built into the part of the actual dock/mount that slides into the phone? If this is built into the dock/mount I could just run a wire straight down to the fuse panel and wire it in there without having to use a cig socket and adapter.
And another quick question....if I got a new head unit with a rear USB port I could just run a longer USB cable from the dock behind the dash to the rear input. Assuming this provides power, I could charge, use MTP, and stream pandora correct? Would this also replace Bluetooth hands free calling? I guess it would just be simple to pop the phone in the dock and have all those features and not have to worry about turning Bluetooth on and off and pairing. Plus I would assume audio quality would be better via a wired connection rather than Bluetooth.
Anyone?

The dock needs a micro usb connection, which is 5 volts. You have lots of options, from just plugging a micro usb car charger into the dock and lighter socket, to opening up that car charger and wiring direct to fuse box, to wiring a new lighter socket under the dash to the fuse box then getting the little adapter that looks like a rocket that plugs into a lighter socket and gives you a usb port. Combine that with a micro usb cable and poof. I did this last setup and it works great...

Audio out from the Micro USB port??

I would really like to know if it is possible to get audio out from the Micro USB port. I want to use my GN2 in a car dock with audio out to my head unit RCA audio inputs.
I would rather dock with one connection via the micro usb port for charging and Audio out.
Using an NFC tag on the car dock to open Car Home Ultra when docked.
There is some sort of adapter/unit you can buy to do this. Iv have seen people post it, if I see the name of it I'll post on here.

Yes and I have to say the quality is amazing. You need an otg cable, just a couple of bucks on amazon or fleabay. It has a male mico on one end and a female usb on the other. You can then hook this up to any driverless headphone amp or usb dac of your choice. I have tested with an odac and a fiio e7 and both worked flawlessly.

So there is no analog audio out then?
I do have the OTG cable, so I suppose THIS would probably work:
Along with THIS
To my head unit.

That may be a possibility. I've also heard that iBolt is releasing a Note II Car dock that may support this feature. However it is not due out until the end of December.
If you just want analog out, then the headphone is as good as any. The http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003N0XDT4/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1353503718&sr=8-1&pi=SL75fiio. (hope the kink insert works... ) is cheap and will provide much better quality and level than the headphone jack. I. am not sure if the dac you linked to runs off usb or needs a separate supply. If you need rca jacks then its a male 3.5mm to male rca. There is a good quality pre amp that will give you 2v at least (close to standard car amp input) The one you linked to provides about 1.25v. I have not seen measurements of that dac so don't know how it compares to one in gn2.
The microusbs advantage (or limitation depending on your viewpoint) is that it gives you access to the pure digital signal which of course needs a dac. The dock linked to above and all others I've seen either reroute the headphone jack or provide a really terrible integrated dac which sounds much worse than the headphone jack.

MHL to 3.5mm jack adapter? (So I only have to plug in 1 cable in my car)

Hello all,
I just purchased the ONE and as part of a promotion from T-MO US they gave me a free car adapter. I would like to hardwire the car adapter to my car, but the connection cable they gave me was just a Micro-USB charging cable.
I do not want to have to dock the phone then have to insert a 3.5mm headphone cable into the top of the phone and have wires running all over the inside the car.
I can modify the bootom of the dock to accept an MHL cable instead of Micro-USB, but I need to find a product that break off MHL into USB (hardwire for charging) and 3.5mm headphone jack that I can then plug into the back of my factory stereo behind the dashboard, thus only having to dock the phone and not have to plug anything else into it.
Any suggestions on such a product?
This thread might help....

[Q] Will a 3.5MM Stereo Headset Audio Adapter work?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has an experience to make a Samsung micro-USB to 3.5mm audio jack adapter to work? Something got into my audio jack socket causing contact issues. I don't have USB headphone, or external audio devices connected by OTG cable -- just plain headphone (or car audio's aux-in) connected to Note 2's usb port using the adapter ... will it work? Do I need an app to drive that?

Thanks -- unfortunately it didn't, but maybe because my USB-3.5mm adapter is too old (from another long dead Samsung phone). I even tried the SoundAbout app (free version) but still no joy. Maybe bluetooth is the solution to my problem but it's one more battery to charge.
