[Q] Please help me! *Emergency* - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello XDA,
My G3 got into a bootloop and I finally resorted to flashing stock ROM in order to get the phone back again. My internal memory has been wiped. Is there any way I could recover the data without complicated procedures? I saw one on XDA, and it is too complicated for my level of tech understanding. I would sell my soul if I could, to recover the data.
A million thanks.

rooting question

Hey guys,
I'm interested in rooting just so I can get tethering working and be able to delete some useless apps but I don't want to get rid of my factory Rom. What can I do? I also have not done the HTC SD update but I want to cause I don't want to spend for a new working SD card.

waiting patiently for the answer to this...
rooting doesn't give you a different rom. a different rom gives you a different rom.

Several users have reported that even after applying the OTA update, they were able to successfully root using toast's method. At the moment, I plan to apply the update and then root when I get my EVO on Monday. Unless something changes before then, it's as good as done.
Alright good stuff. Thx for replies. Do you guys know if that one step root sticks to phone even after boot?
It sticks but your not able to flash roms or do nandroid backups or anything. Your much better off using toasts method.
First thanks to all the gurus here at this amazing website were technology is constantly being challenge and and with good results. I take my hat off to you
I just wanted to bring an issue I am having and hope it can be resolve if not it will be a learning experience, but I know that with so many great people in this website I have no doubt that my issue could be resolve and if not I will continue to try to resolve the problem, I love challenges in the electronic world. I have been in it for the last 27 years.
My situation is the following:
I was able to root my phone, but have 2 questions;
1) Why when I look under superuser I have nothing in my screen?
2) Why I can't have access to my sdcard through HTC Synch even know I have update to the new firmware?
I have try this in different ways, updating to the factory software and then rooting as well as rooting first and then try to update which after thinking about it I think it was stupid of me.
I am sorry about my extended post, but I just wanted to thank you guys for your continous support to all of the cell phone community.
Again thankyou and continue the good work

safest way to clean rooted phone?

Hi,
First I want to thank XDA and the members for everything, I'm a bit ashamed to post a question because so much information is available in the various topics and on the net.
But to much information kills the information :laugh::laugh: (power Noob inside )
I rooted my Note8 3G GT5100 N5100XXBMC8
Since a few month it randomly do an soft reboot, especially when installing or updating apps... I'm used to it but I want to sell my device, the buyer wants to keep it rooted but I have to clean it first.
Last time a made a big mistake with my rooted Note2: factory restore... at the moment I hit OK twice I knew it was a bad option
I didn't managed to unbrick it, so I'm pretty stressed to do the wrong choice.
Some are telling to make a Nandroid backup, other TWRP etc... I did the first but can't find any .img backup image to restore.
Reflashing should be the cleanest way but I'm not confident to do it, that's why I'll try to clean it by uninstalling everything, remove obsolete files: good option?
With Windows systems it should no be a problem but Android it's another world
What should I NOT do to avoid bricking my tablet?
I guess I can install a firmware for GT5100 3G 32Gb from another country or not? I'm from Belgium, what if I install one from Greece or India? Changing the language should be enough.
My device have no simlock
About language, if someone can help me in French or Dutch in PM, it would be fantastic because my english is more than basic
Or will you advice me to unroot my device?
Thank you for your patience and sorry for posting this question, I read so many topics about it with contradicting informations, I don't know what to believe...
Cheers,

Expert advice needed for Canadian LG G4 (Fido)

First off, I have checked here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/canadian-guide-complete-source-lg-g4-t3212449
And no, it doesn't help.
Story: I want to recover some deleted pictures and videos from a trip (about a month ago) from my internal memory. I have been quite careful and didn't install much into the internal memory since the trip fearing that it might overwrite my deleted contents.
Help: My phone has not been rooted and it has been updated to Marshmallow... I want to know if there is a way to root my phone (maybe downgrade to the 5.x version?) and recover my lost data (at least some of it) without a phone wipe? Or are there are any existing market software (I can pay) to recover the contents without rooting at all?!
I am a newbie here (both in the forum and with tech in general), so please give me any step-by-step guidance if possible.
Thank you so much for all your help in advance!!
So your phone does not boot now? As far as I know there is no way to downgrade without wiping data. If I am wrong someone please correct me.
In the future I would use a service like Google photos to auto backup your photos to the cloud. Makes life much easier.

XA2 Factory Reset, Data Recovery, Rooting

Howdy Everyone,
I'm a huge novice when it comes to playing around with android phones so please go easy on me. :cyclops:
Ok so had this phone about a month and it had a Google play error a few times. A quick reset and all was OK, until the last time where it ended up in a boot loop. :crying:
Numerous Web searches later I decided to use Xperia Companion to repair my phone. I had my phone back but my data was gone!
I'd hoped it would be relatively easy to get the data back or at least some of it, but no as it was then I realised that I would have to root my phone to even try.
Then I find out that if I unlock the bootloader that I would need to roll back to MM so that I could backup the TA Partion to save my DRM Keys.....
Ultimately I want to recover my photos (or at least attempt) and then return my phone to an unrooted state with my DRM keys back where they should be. :fingers-crossed:
So my question to the community is, can I use Xerpia Companion to make a backup of my phone at its factory state (pretty much as it is now), root the phone, attempt the recovery and the be able to return my phone to the state its currently in.. Including the TA partition?
Cheers in advance for any and all help.... :victory:

I don't have this device and there's a limited amount of threads regarding this topic but, the following thread is probably your best bet. Don't be afraid to ask for some member guidance within it too.
