changes noted:
- Themes work! (I had to go to Google Play on a computer, sign in then it sends to your smartphone correctly)
- Less lag, definitely faster when opening apps
- Contacts/phonebook opens faster, like a normal system app
Some glitches still present:
- Sometimes installing themes via Google Play or Sony Select fails
- Phone restarts itself again and again after installing the themes, when trying to unlock the screen and sometimes get bootloop..,
- GPS lag is reported to still happen
- Changing keyboard settings can trigger a reboot
- The volume bar becomes a blank black box
Alright thanks bro, really helpful. Im gonna stay on this current firmware and not update. Sony has been messing up their updates big time, what the hell is going on?

really,, aree they making it good or making it more and more worse..
Have root access on 15.4.A.1.9 (C1905 locked bootloader) and everything seems to be working on par or better than 15.4.A.0.23
So unless you know of a specific feature, not functioning in 15.4.A.1.9, then I wouldn't hold back on upgrading.
I note that OpenGL ES 2.0 is still giving benchmark results well below that obtained on 15.1.C.2.8 (Android 4.1)
Guess that's the price we pay for OpenGL ES 3.0
Sony notes the following in the Xperia M software update page:
Android version: Google Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean)
Latest available software: 15.4.A.1.9
Release started: 2014-06-10
Included in this software
This upgrade for your Xperia™ smartphone includes many improvements, such as:
Enhanced user experience
Improved battery life
Software performance improvements

Not really a change log, more like an update overview.
It can always be placebo effect, but I feel the GUI is more responsive.
Battery life is always subjective depending on usage.
Update
On Android 4.3, I have not had any reboots outside those I have manually initiated.
I have 'gutted' the /system/app folder of over 26 apk.
Did have Spiderman theme loaded for a few minutes, just to see if Xperia themes worked and then deleted it.
I did a manual reboot after loading the theme.
Currently running Malaysian 1274-5466 build.
I built it from SUS download via Flashtool and extracted system.ext4 for root access upgrade.
On 15.4.A.0.23 I was running a Serbian 1274-5505 build.
I did note on the Serbian 15.4.A.0.23 build it had SMS character optimization.
This is something that is missing in the current 15.4.A.1.9 Malaysian build
Just something to consider for those using extended character sets in SMS messages.

I'll give you the link.

To me it is faster than KitKat (on my Sony T2) but I think it consume bigger space than KitKat.
Now I need to delete some apps since I only have 600 mb space left.
Lollipop has been working great on my T2. Perhaps a factory reset could fix problems.

How to downgrade?
Nope, Lolli just doing fine on my t2udual.
Just do clean install, factory reset, wipe all.
Then root, do partition ur xtrnal sd, then use link2sd apps to link the apps on internal to external(and little bit of vram)
Now, its much much much better... No Lag, have tons of apps, and very big space of internal storage (its around 3gb free internal memory)

Hope this will fix your issue.
I was also experiencing the same issue on my D5303 T2 Ultra. Very fast outside apps, but become very slow inside apps.
I've tried fresh firmware install, and didn't work, still slow.
What I did which apparently fix this issue is as follows :
1. Fresh install firmware using PCC repair mode
2. Install all off my apps... And then my device becoming very slow
3. Root using new Kingroot ver 4.1
4. Enable system purification in Kingroot
5. Change cpu governor from on demand to interactive using 3c toolbox or other app
6. Reboot to ensure
That's all, and in my case it fix the issue.
Try it, hope will fix yours.

Hello,
I'm currently (and very happily) running nAOSPROM on my Xperia S. However, the only thing I miss from stock is the camera, both its simplicity and its quality. I tried various alternative camera apps, and they are all not very satisfactory (especially in low light) and seem to draw an ungodly amount of battery while doing an inferior job. I even tried the recent port of Z4 camera (including framework), and it seems that the XS isn't able to handle that one anymore, running out of memory and coming to a screeching halt. Not that I'd be particularly interested in placing stickers on my pictures or using AR anyway.
Bottom line/tl;dr: I want the camera back that worked so great in Xperia S stock firmware.
My question now is: Is there any possibility and if so, someone knowledgeable enough to port the bog-standard Xperia S stock camera from the latest (and probably last) JB stock firmware so it can be run on Lollipop?
Thank you so much in advance (even for a definite no)

Yes, that's the one I meant with "the recent port of the Z4 camera", I made the same experience.
I'm really hoping for a port of the original, basic, but great working camera.
i wrote to the dev and he replied to me: "to fix black screen use com.sonyericsson.cameraextension.jar in framework folder from working xperia port camera for xperia s it will surely works" .. so i will try it when i will have some free time

I'm waiting too for a stock camera port for lollipop roms (ucyan or naosp). Please let us know the outcome.
I'm still on stock too just for the camera. I'm using the EXR port from Z1 which is great but also the stock would be great.
Any news ?
I do not know if I'm doing dirty flash which find it hard but I tried to install both Ucyan as the Naosp the Ucyan in the system is with random crashes and reboots in Naosp black screen and a Rebot until not stand it and went back to SipleAOSP
Any news ?

How should he if there is none? It's a ~350mb update, that's usually just a security update with maybe some bugfixes.
So did it OTA anywhere?

Customized CH did, indeed.
Silly question : Would an update, like this one, need to update with previous versions first before upgrading to this one ? I'm asking this because here in the UK, I'm still with the Customized UK 47.1.A.16.20. And I've never had any Pie update available displayed on my phone.
Several versions have been dispatched to other zones in the world, including several for different UK providers but then hang in the middle of the roll out. Plus in the Support > Software section of my G8441, it says in the "Next Android version" sub section : "No new Android version planned yet".
It looks weird, isn't? Not to mention after Sony started to roll out their very first Pie firmware for the G8441, my Xperia Companion said a new Software version was available, with no description, no firmware version number, and when trying to download it, Xperia companion crashed and needed to restart. Few hours later, when opening it again, the 'New Software' notification disappeared. Since then my phone displays "No new Android version planned yet".
Is this related ?
Thanks in advance, and sorry for the half off-topic...
I too have the customized UK phone, and nothing here either
Does someone know which .sin files to exclude if I want to install the new firmware (I already have Pie) with newflasher but want to keep my existing settings, apps and data?
I know that persist*.sin should be excluded to avoid losing android assets keys and userdata*.sin also I guess by the name. Anything else?
I have an unlocked bootloader with DRM keys backed up and restored with Customized CH 47.2.A.2.33 installed. I also have flashed the secd patch so the phone offers OTA update, but I know it won't work with the bootloader unlocked.
Came OTA in Switzerland. Update worked like a charm and I don't see any changes except for December security patch.

Updates don't work like that. If you have the CH ROM, you'll get the OTA for that. If you have UK rom, you'll get the UK rom update regadless of the place you are in.
You can manually flash a different rom customization (uk, ch, nordic etc) and then het updates for that one. I don't know if there are some disadvantages doing that though, as some customizations might have specifoc stuff for some countries / carriers.

I do have CH. I flashed CH manually a long time ago, as I was not getting any updates (missed several months) on my DE. I have gotten many regular OTAs since and did a few resets. But I did not get any of the Pie versions. I thought maybe it is actual location...
I'm in the UK boat, I've been a Sony user since the Xperia arc and I've certainly had some long waits for software updates but I can't remember seeing so many versions released without the UK sim free getting any of them. Can't see my next phone being Sony now.

From what I am deducting all around the web (Sony forums, XDA, 4pda) just keep Oreo and don't bother seeing the number 9 instead of the 8 in the about section of your phone.
I had the OTA update notification for a few weeks, neved installed and eventually it disappeared because Sony has shut down the updates as of Pie bugs reported in their forums.
I am still on latest Oreo and I am going to keep it until I see a totally polished Pie, and it will take months!
Apart from slowmo 960fps in FullHD I truly do not see any reason to update, because the cons are more than pros.
Sure, security patches will be up to date, but does anyone feel the difference having a few month outdated patches? The security is in the hands of the user.

They are in the early days for Android 9 Pie. And Sony is one of the first companies to release pie updates. It's buggy, which is the usual after updating to a new major android version. The previous version 47.2.A.2.33 was not even completely rolled out before this current version started rolling out. I'm sure the usual rollout schedule will continue as the software matures.
Hi everyone,
Just to notify that I got new firmware update 47.2.A.11.228.
It includes September Security Updates... and that's a 401.4 MB update..!
Usually it was more like 200 Mo updates if I remember correctly... I wonder why. ^^
Possibly due to Sony focusing on the same time on Android 10 update.
It was more or less the same with Android 9 update last year: no October 2018 update and 2 updates for December, one being Android 9.
From what I read, "What's New" app is still there, but Xperia Lounge disapeared.
... but even being there, What's New is an empty app now ! When you open it, you have a "What's New is no longer available" message.

Is there any official Changelog available ?
Removing "whats new" was the number 1 reason for rooting my phone in the past.
The second reason was to dark theme apps... though now most apps seem to be dark.
Hi,
where can i get the whole firmware for g8441 as normal download? Or can someone upload the 47.2.A.11.228 firmware which will work surely? All downloadlinks i found do not work if i dry to flash them with twrp (different errors for different files).
My friends. I have a sony x f5121. When it heats up, the camera's functionality soon becomes limited and then the native camera ends up closing. After these Sony XZ1 updates, does the same problem still persist on the XZ1? (At the time of launch, many reported this problem as well). I am interested in the Sony XZ1, but if it has the same camera problems as the Sony X, it is not viable. Thanks
