hi. the battery charger that i got with my LG optimu G Pro is ****. its just now that i checked that i have been deceived
its chinese copy and its only 0.2A charger...
now i know the reason why my phone charges soooo slow...
anyways. i think Note 3 and iPad air charger are 2A and 2.4A. so can i use iPad or Note 3 charger to charge my phone? will that be ok?

Use OEM LG charger with 1.2 output. I am using LG G2 OEM charger and it charges very fast! But not sure it's compatible completely

If youre tech savy you can make your own,you just need a switchmode 5v regulator (they usually put out up to 3 amps) and you put a resistor across the data pins (i think 100 ohm) and itll charge the phone as fast as it can safely charge. I made my own charger for the car and the phone gets fully charged in about an hour and a half. (With screen on and playing Bluetooth music). Other wise if you buy a charger, get as many amps as you can. Atleast 1.5+ . and to make the phone charge in AC mode if it only says USB you need a resistor across the data pins.
Thats funny... my G Pro came with a 1.8a LG charger, my G2 came with a 1.2a.
Yeah you'll be fine. The "extra" amperage in the charger is available capacity that your phone can draw from, it will regulate itself but that can also depend on the charger and how they pin the USB. Its different than if you have extra volts (like a 10vdc charger which would provide too high of a voltage and damage electronics). I usually charge all my phones at when I get home with my wife's iPad charger super fast. Likewise you can use your LG charger to charge the iPad but will be slower since it has less amp capacity to supply. Part of the reason they provide the bigger charger is to sustain battery level while using the device (It should be large enough that the battery doesn't drain while your using the device while plugged into the charger).
Most computer USB ports typically provide .5a of power and will be your slowest charging option, at best you get a newer laptop with "high capacity" ports and it provides only 1.0a.
I've been using an iPad 1st gen charger with GPro since day one, been working flawlessly for 4 months now. Charges fast.
I ordered the 4gb ram version of Zenfone 2 and it only comes with the "Boostmaster" quick charger that outputs 9v and 2A.
Also, I saw pictures where the visible part of the battery in the phone says "+9v 2A" on it.
I want to know is it safe to use a regular 5v USB charger to charge this phone if I do not want to use the quick charger?
I am not sure since I read through some websites and I am concerned about these quotes:
Too low voltage may do damage. Slightly too low may work AOK or at

If the voltage is too low, you'll get either nothing, or odd / failure
behavior when the power draw on the system gets high.

So I want to know does the zenfone 2 has a special battery that allows lower voltage? Is its battery really a 9v battery?
I use a 5V charger, but the 2GB Zen has a 5.2V charger. There's nothing wrong with using weaker plugs, though the charge time is roughly 3-4hrs with the one I use.

I took the back off and the battery the, it says 5.2 v and 9v on it for input so I guess you can use either one on it
oh, I didn't know it says that on battery, I didn't receive my phone yet, but all the pictures I 've seen on reviews and when I googled the image, all I see on the battery is "Input +9v 2A, 18W"

Yes. My 4GB model has both on it.
I've used a non QC charger on it and it worked fine. I mainly have QC's now so I use those when my phone doesn't have qi support. It chargers fine with the following Quick Charge 2.0 chargers: Aukey 10000mah battery pack, Asus boost master, Motorola Turbo, Incipio car charger, Power Partners 30w. I haven't had any issues charging it yet but it does get warm (battery hits 119 °F) using the Asus charger and cable.
Ive used multiple charging blocks that have 1 Amp and each time the charging stops at 77% and stays there overnight. This is kind of dumb I think. Anyone else having this issue when not using the stock charging block? Hmm it actually seems that this is happening on my cords that are 6 feet in length. The short cords are working fine

Had issues with long cords before, mostly they would take ages to charge.
I'm using the stock Samsung Note 3/4 charger with no issue and the samsung cable.
It's easier to use than to unpack and find an Aussie adaptor for the ASUS charger....

I've charged on other charger when I grabbed the wrong one, but it won't do a full charge. I can only get about 75% on standard charger. Plug in the fast charger and it charges right up.
it should be fairly okay else it wouldn't be safe to plug this device into sa normal USB port (5v)

1) Does the G7 let you know what speed it is charging at? I'd like to know so I can swap out cables, chargers, Qi pad, to get the fastest charging rate.
2) Is there a difference between Samsung's Fast Charging, and Qualcomm's QC 3.0?

The charge rate of the phone irrespective of the chargers we use, it is controlled by the stock kernel. When screen is on, it lowers down the amperage (See Ampere App) to keep off the heat, vice versa etc. We need a custom kernel to have the charging amperes to be changed manually which is really cool. If we have a really cool custom kernel, the CPU governors should preset customisable governors (for smooth performance) and for the charge values, just look for a 3A charger, with the Kernel Adiutor change the values. Meaning the benefits of rooting gives us the complete freedom of our Android! If a 4A charger is detected by the kernel manager app, the charge values should show as "upto 4A even with the screen on! Then no need to be jealous of Dash Charging of One Plus!

The lock screen always tells you how long until full no matter what charger you are using and it will say fast charging, wireless or just charging... My observations have been around 1.5 hour for 60 percent to full so about 5 hours if dead, great before going to sleep and I missed it in my least few phones

Thanks! I noticed you do not have a G7 listed as a current phone in your signature. Is your answer above based upon your experience with Samsung phones and their charging system, or specifically with the G7 (or other QC 3.0 phones)?
I hadn't notice the charging speed on the lock screen, as I have the phone set to basically bypass it all the time (fingerprint, facial recognition, & geo-fence)...so I didn't even know it was listed there on the bottom. Thanks again...now I know it's there
Strange thing is I went through a bunch of permutations with cables (various generations), and charge blocks and Qi pads this morning, and with the phone starting at 93% charged, it made no difference in remaining charge time no matter what combination of the items I hooked up. I saw the standard "charging" memo with some combos, and the "fast charging" one too, with others. Can I assume that even though the phone might say it's fast charging, it ramps the speed/power level up and down as necessary due to the current state of charge, or heat or some other factors? Would it also possibly switch into fast-charging with more power if the phone was starting at a lower state of charge, or possibly cooler?Yes, I'll have to read the link above as it's probably covered there

I have a RavPower 15w and 3 umdigi 15w qi wireless pads that all say wirelessly fast charging when connected. Needs an 18w QC2-3 charger for the input voltage ranges needed to work.
It is noticeably faster than a 10w qi pad and only slightly slower than QC 3.0 USB average charge.

Of the 2 Qi pads you mention, any preferences towards one or the other (or a different one altogether)? I have an Anker QC 3.0 charger I can connect up to it.
BTW.. I cannot locate a 15W Ravpower pad. What model is it? And is the Umdigi a model Q1?

My pixel screen went bad and the charging port went bad also... Just got the g7 so I haven't changed my signature or updated my devices...
Samsung Fast charge is basically qc2 ... And standard USB A to C do not support the higher current that USB C to C does... I notice fastest charging with my pixel USB PD charger...
And yes you won't notice as much fast charging from the top 20 percent of the battery to prevent over charging...
for me, from 25% of charge, the fast charge advertisement says 1 hour and 20 minutes (charge fast???????).... if i use a normal charger (not fast), the time goes to 1 hour and 31 minutes. this phone has a charge fast but very low fast

I know it's hard from a specs perspective as most are only 75% efficient so the 10w might only be 7.5w and 15w is actually 10w, which is why LG customer services expressly states you must use a 15w QI charger for fast wireless charging. Another problem is the specs aren't always accurate and updated devices might still have old specs listed. I tried a bunch before I found a couple I liked. The mophie streampad+ also does fast wireless charging but is listed as 10w.
The RavPower is a standup charger I use in the office, the other UmDigi chargers I have scattered around the house and in the bedroom.

I'm in the market for a qi charger that can fast charge my Thinq g7. I see reports of needing 15W but not seeing many out there that have that spec.

I have Samsung Fast wireless charger. This present with S7. Fast charging battery of S7 Edge, S9+. But G7 didn't support fast wireless charging. And charging is slow. So you can buy what you want but charging with this phone will be slow.

Just thought I'd add to this - the charger that comes with the LG G7 ThinQ (Verizon) is labeled with outputs 9V/1.8A and 5V/1.8A. My old HTC 10 charger is labeled 12V/1.25A, 9V/1.7A, 5V/2.5A. I haven't tried it on the HTC 10's charger on a measuring device to see actual power delivery, but at least on the face of it, if it supports those higher voltages and/or amps, you should be able to get faster charging than with the charger out of the box.
On the other hand, faster charging may in part be why the HTC 10's battery lifetime is dismal, and not once have I thought "boy I wish my G7 would charge faster".

According to some sites ThinQ is capable of 27W (9x3) charging. I therefore purchased a Xiaomi 65W charger which outputs 9x3 but the phone charges only with 15W (5x3) so wasted money.
Yes. I bought 3 different chargers and also a watt meter. When charging with screen on max amps is 1A and 6-8wattage. When screen is off it goes up to max 16watt. And it doesnt matter which charger i use.

i have two chargers,
1. output 9.0V 1.67A or 5.0V 2.0A
2. output 5.2V 2.4A
and a usb-c cable, in the cable box i find that this cable is supporting for fast charging and support to 2.4A but when i tried it with the two chargers, and test it using 'ampere' app i got max to 1010mA with both chargers adapter ! even with this value i feel it charging my mobile quickly, and in the bottom of the lock screen i see 'charging rapidly' but i want more and why the phone is not charged depending on the values in the chargers (1.67A - 2.0A - 2.4A) and cable (2.4A)

Considering we often get new phones every 2-3 years, you won't see much of a degradation from rapid/fast charging.
Rather, you'll see a degradation from charging from <15% to 100% (which people do often). That will be a more significant reason someones battery will lose much off its lifespan.
I wish Android would have a built in limiter. I'm sure in the next few years, both iOS and Android will.

i bought an original charger for my pixel 2 xl from ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/113109823570 and after testing it with ampere app i got the same value as my old charger, i got max 1010 mA, and i don't feel that there is a fast charging, it needs to the same time to charge my mobile as my old charger !

After seeing this I checked accubattery and it also says mine normally charges between 700 - 1010 mah also. I didn't even think about fast charging, I don't have the original charger but I have other "fast chargers" that don't seem to be doing their job either.

There's nothing I can help you guys with. All I can tell you is what ratings your charger should have, based upon the information printed on the pair of chargers I received with my device when I purchased it directly from Google. If you have a genuine Google charger and the P2XL is still not charging fast, contact Google.

I thought that charging capped out at roughly 1000 mA when the screen is on to protect the battery from overheating/putting too much strain on it. Which could lead to degradation of the battery. That would explain why you only see 1010 mA on Ampere - because the screen is on. I don't think Ampere measures while the screen is off, so it is difficult to say what value it would be giving you.
That is my experience even using the stock charger that came with the phone.

maybe your opinion is right. my next experiment is from 0% to 100% with the old charger and with the stock charger, then i will see if there is a difference

There is one other thing that you must also have. The Pixel does NOT support Qualcomm Fast Charging. It uses Power Delivery, not Quickcharge Technology. So if you have a charger that is labeled QuickCharge or a Moto Turbo Charger you will NOT get fast charging from these units. It has to be a Power Delivery charger with a USB C port and the cable must be USB-IF certified. If you don't have all of that then you don't get a fast charge.

That makes sense then, it seems like everything gets more complicated every year.
I just purchased one of these from Amazon. Note that it supports Power Delivery 3.0. This unit quick charges my phone. The Moto Charger I have for my old Moto G5+ which is a Qualcomm charger will charge the phone but only at slow speeds.

I guess the original charger will be faster. Can you try and compare it?

Note, that, presumably, because the OEM charger does not go up the maximum 20V of QC4 (only 9V) it is not actually a certified QC4 charger, despite using the standard.
Also, the power rating for QC4 isn't actually higher than QC3, it merely has finer voltage control, allowing for better efficiency.
Sidenote, funnily enough, my QC3 charger is two thirds the size of the ASUS downgraded QC4 charger...
I used ampere to measure current at 50% charge.
That said, I used a QC3 charger from my previous Mi Max 2, it definitely got picked up by the Zenfone 6, showing the two plusses in the battery icon. It reached a max current of 2.5A
The OEM charger reached a stable 3A.
A difference is certainly there, but my guess is it won't actually be THAT significant in the real world. Personally I always use two chargers, the OEM for fast topping up, when needed. And another really "crappy" (0.8A smartwatch charger) for overnight charging so that the majority of the charging I do stresses the battery as little as possible. No matter what Qualcomm likes to tell you, fast charging definitely shortens the lifespan of a battery, so while convenient, it's good to do it as little as possible.
If you REALLY want the fastest possible results, try and find a QC4 charger. Only a few actually exist to buy right now.
Otherwise you can get a QC3 charger, there are TONS of those, and you can actually get the pretty cheap too. You'll only lose 0.5A anyway.
You could probably also use a USB PD 3.0 charger, as QC4 is able to negotiate voltages with it as if it were a fully supported QC charger.
Edit. Tried charging with both from 55% to 71% (It just happened to be where I was at with one charger, then used a battery drainer to do the exact same charge).
The QC3 charger was one minute slower at 16 minutes, while the OEM did it in 15 minutes.
