custom roms? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

So are there basically no roms being actively supported for the tmobile s6 edge now?

Been wondering this as well. Stock rooted works well enough though

XtreStoLite supports the T-Mobile S6E. Stay tuned once folks figure out how to deodex 5.1.1. Things should pick up again. I'm happy with having root and custom kernel and a debloated stock ROM.

Do you have a list of what you disabled or deleted to de bloat? Other than stuff like t mobile and Samsung apps?

Anyone else skipping roms?

I decided no roms this time around. I want everything to work. I will likely root to get rid of some bloat. Anyone else?

I agree, I'm only rooting to get my apps from titanium back, but other than that, I'm pretty sure I'll be happy with touchwiz JellyBean

I will say that this is one of the ONLY phones that I ever thought about NOT romming but I doubt I will be able to hold back if something really good comes out...Hello, I am Justin, I am a flashaholic!
GOTTA have root access though... Can't have any company telling me what I HAVE to keep on my phone! :good:
My exact same thoughts. I only rooted to get rid of the bloat. Quick question though. ... im a little nervous... would I still be able to update if tmobile decides to push one even though im rooted?

I hope not to also but when a new version of android comes out and no update from the carrier then flashing seems like the only option..
Cm10 with S pen functionality is that possible?
Should get rid of CarrierIQ at least =/
Paranoid is a must on this phone. Will likely wait until there is a stable release.

Deff agree on that one. But alas, i will miss alot of the OG functions from touchwiz on this phone. Although with GN1, they found work arounds for it. Especially S Note.
My plan is to root as late as I can to avoid messing things up. I figure we won't see an update for a few weeks and by then all the bugs that come along with rooting a phone should be worked out. I really enjoy this phone and can, surprisingly, wait on rooting.

I know when I rooted that if I go to check for a software update it says it won't do it on a modified device so I am pretty sure we won't get OTA's through the rooted devices but you can just wait for someone to post the updated OTA and flash that and your good to go!
Or do you still have stock recovery?
Only rooted for bloat and spyware removal and a nice kernel. But im only flashing stock TW based roms!

The only way I will install a custom rom on the note 2 is if they come out with Android 4.1.2 , 4.2, or Key Lime Pie.

I'll still get a custom ROM but only those based on stick for full s pen and camera usage. Can't give those up

Seriously I don't understand why would anyone want aosp roms on this baby when spen features and touchwiz is what makes this phone awesome. To each its own. I just dont want the term flashing hipster to give birth.

So no rooting at this point

Im either going to wait to root until after the ota for multi window function is sent out or ill root if a rom including it is released first.

Multi-Window full control with custom apps?

Is there anyway to customize what apps I can use with Multiwindow? I want to use calculator but it's not in the Multiwindow drawer. I know the sprint and verizon versions have developers who have created this ability does the att version have this option?

Stock rooted is my preference, but if flashing is the only option it may be worth it.
CleanROM and Jedi are both really good roots that allow what you want. I would read through both and see which meets your needs.
I'm getting incredible battery life on CleanROM and they just updated to 4.0.5.
Both roms are very well supported, so you can't go wrong.
I just tried and the calculator works with my setup.

I am running cleanROM which has it already installed and I believe stock rooted international has built in ability to do it also.
Here is older option also.

I think you are just sending the multi-window update. What we are looking for is the option to use any app on our phone with multi-window. Using the OTA update there are only certain apps that can be used in multiwindow.
Same problem

You need at least root. I higly recommend you to install cleanrom 1.2. It is based on att rom with many improvements. why the fixation to stay with stock? If you flash you can always go back to stock in case of warranty claim.

I would like this feature as well. Like a lot of users, I am rooted but prefer to remain stock for various reasons. For example, I was using cleanrom 5.0 over the last week until a coworker informed me my outlook meeting invites were not populating on group calendars. There are a ton of minor flaws I find like this with custom roms that don't exist on stock. In fact, in three phones and as many years if rooting, I have never found a rom as reliable as the one that the manufacturer intended.

I just wrote a paragraph explaining that I had found a good rom; the stock one. Isn't the spirit of XDA predicated on finding the experience that works best for the individual-be it stock or custom, free from judgement? Regardless, I would love to have this feature on the stock rom, which is why I revived this thread.

Custom ROM with stock features?

I know is early yet but is there a ROM base on the stock OS that keep all features? I don't want to lose them specially wifi calling! Thanks in advance!

What kind of features of the stock rom do you have in mind and want to to keep?
All the stuff which requires you to sign in then wants to sell you stuff? LOL
You cannot loose wifi calling unless you flash a rom which is not 100% Tmobile compatible like any of those
CM/AOSP/AOKP roms.
If you only flash Tmobile Touchwiz Jellybean 4.2.2 based custom roms you will always have wifi.

Most, if not all the roms in the development section are stock with extra features. As the other person mentioned aosp roms won't have wifi calling. Best bet is to not flash any roms from the original development threads.

I like some of the apps that my phone came with. I assume that by using Titanium Backup I can back up those apps and just restore them to my new ROM when I install that ROM. Like the Office App.
I think the features that the OP is talking about are the features like the S View, the gestures, smart scroll, and other features like that.

Those features that you listed will all work just fine in any Touchwiz Jellybean 2.2 stock or custom roms.
How ever most of those features will not work if you flash any AOKP/AOSP/CM roms.
And who ever wrote that "MOST" of the custom roms are jellybean based is simply wrong.
Check out the two development threads, the "Tmobile Original" Development thread is full of the CM/AOKP/AOSP
roms and the "T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4 Android Development" thread has more CM10/AOSP/AOKP roms
in it now than it has Touchwiz Jellybean 4.2.2 based custom roms making it difficult to tell which is which until people
flash them and then start complaining that this and that don't work or don't work properly.
Just my personal thoughts....................

Can I flash AOSP ROM with the new bootloader?

do you still want Knox warranty or just does't care for it?
there's a thread to remove knox entirely & you can install AOSP
I flashed the new boot loader. Then decided I didn't like tw 4.3 and switched to paranoid aospa. So far so good.
Only thing I noticed is that my phone sometimes turns off Bluetooth and WiFi if the phone gets too hot, e.g. when I am playing intensive games for half an hour or so. Nothing that a reboot doesn't solve.

I'm actually making a base rom now. Just a system dump made into a flashable zip. Gonna do a full, full deodex, and a deodex debloat. This will give people something to flash back to stock, and give people something to build roms off of. Gonna try and bring my rom from the Note II over.

You will have to use an addon app such as FoxFI (which requires a one time small payment to allow use beyond a few minutes)
The Verizon app checks in with Verizon to see if you are authorized... Which as a T-Mobile customer... You won't be authorized to use their hotspot app.
FoxFi uses a different method. Download the free version and make sure it works before you pay the one time fee.
