A friend of mine found an Xperia Neo, and the origina owner has locked it with the IMEI (I think). It wont accept any SIM card.
Cant enter the dialer to check bootloader status, I searched methods of how to unlock by IMEI but I cant find any suitable tutorial.
I've already asked in Neo's section but since its an old model it doesnt have any more development and I got no answers.
If anyone could help me I would be very thankfull

Hi all, my friend has Sony Xperia Arc S (lt18i) which is locked to unknown carrier (3co.uk - i think) .. i want to unlock it and use my country's gsm carrier
I want to install custom Rom on it "XPERIA Ultimate HD MOD" (suggest any better rom if any) and i am totally noob for sony devices. (have worked on various HTC device so i guess wont be any hard for sony if proper instruction is provided :fingers-crossed
So my question is, Can it be unlocked to my carrier?? And instruction to root and install custom rom??

Yes, and go to the general section and read the stickys before starting threads asking for what's been posted numerous times. Just because you're a noob doesn't mean you can't read.

went through numerous post to find the solution for sim-unlock but didn't find anywhere till you replied to my post hehehehhe
anyway got the answer..
I don't even know how this works. I just want to root my Xperia Mini pro Sk17 using my Windows 8 machine. I have tried all methods, most recently this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1601038, however, there's no 562 kernel for my phone and I can't contact anyone. Can anyone help me?
How it works:
- Understand what rooting is a bit, and why you want to do it in the first place
- Find a root method which is compatible with your device. The link you gave appears to be for an Xperia Arc...
- Google 99% finds the right way first time. If not then search in the correct forum before posting another question. Currently you've posted in the HTC Desire section...we can't really help you here.

Hello, can someone help me unlock the bootloader of my Xperia Play?
I allready wrote to Alejandrissimo, who has unlocked one for me yerars ago with the paperclip method & S2 tool.
Unluckily he is not responding now or out of business, so I'm asking if there is someone else on the forum who could do that again - ofc in exchange for some dineros
I've now reused the motherboard from my old xperia.

Which is the best way to root this device? Am I able to make this device dual sim and how?

There are not that many threads here for the Moto Z Play, which makes the information you seek very easy to find.
Im asking because obviously I first tried doing a quick search and I found different methods to root, same with dual sim
I don't remember if it was in Q&A or Guides so you'd have to do a search on both. it was a while back. search for "dusl sim" without quotes.
