For contacts? I use syncme which takes pictures from Facebook by comparing names and phone numbers. Also you have full control on it such as mark as wrong profile, add birthdays, unlink the picture from the contact etc..

I also use Sync.ME

Hi guys,
I have a question about Facebook integration on the Desire: is it possible to add your Facebook account and just synchronize it with the photos app?
What I would like to do is just browse my friends pics through the photos app but NOT add them to my contacts (as I've set up all my contacts in my GMail account).
Thanks!
You need to sync the contacts but then you can link your Google and FB contacts within the People app. This works pretty well and gives you all he info from both sources, including status updates & birthday reminders from FB, together in the one place.

the integration of facebook is brilliant tbh you don't need to use the separate app as once youve linked them it does the job!

Sorry to bump this but anyone knows how to JUST link the pictures app and not the contacts to FB? Thanks!
Okay this isnt a complete solution for jb but if you use Facebook for alot of your numbers then this will work for you. Unfortunately for now haxsync doesn't sync numbers just pics, statuses, etc etc so what i did was use an app called super backup: sms and contacts and backup contacts in an ics rom that supports fb sync then flash the jb rom and restore contacts with the same app. You should have them all and it actually makes them into regular contacts so you dont have to use fb anymore for them. If you want hq pics then use haxsync or any of the other fb picture sync apps

Nice find, I wish I saw this while I was still on ics. I made a post about this a few weeks ago but didn't get much input
Thanks

Np and hey you can just backup your current setup and then flash an ics rom that has fb sync and go back to the backup. Itll take maybe 30mins max but its worth it if you need the contacts like i do

I might just use my old sgs2. Sync the contacts there and copy over to my nexus

that works too lol
Thanks for the info
Np. Glad i can help

Another workaround:
I was going to start a new thread on this, but since it's my first post I feared getting flamed..
So, here's the best workaround that I've come across for phone number syncing for Facebook on Jelly Bean..
1. Go ahead and sync your facebook contacts by clearing the Facebook app cache and adding your Facebook account to your phone. It will ask you to sign in, and then it will sync contacts without phone numbers.
2. As you try to dial someone's number and you realize that it's on Facebook instead of Google, open up the Facebook app and search for that contact by clicking the "three horizontal line" icon on the top left.
3. The contact will have a phone icon next to their name if they have their phone number stored on Facebook. Go ahead and click the phone and it will bring their number up in the dialer.
4. On the bottom right of your dialer, click the "three dot" icon and select "add to contacts". You know what to do from there.
It's not the best solution, but it's the best i've seen so far. You won't have all of your contacts at once, but you can search for the ones that you know right off the bat, and then search for them as needed later on.
Thats a really long process lol i have over 300 friends so that would take forever. My process saves you alot of time and has the added benefit of turning the fb contacts into regular Google contacts.
Also haxsunc doesn't sync numbers so alone it was useless to me lol

All of your facebook contacts can be dialed directly from Facebook. So just keep them on the facebook app until you need to dial a specific Facebook contact, and then take the extra 2 seconds and save it to Google contacts before you dial it.
Plus, I'm sure everyone doesn't need that weird kid from science class from the 7th grade's phone number. This way you can pick and choose who to add as you need it.
Even if there is eventually a way to sync every facebook contact, i much prefer this method.
Thank you for the tip
I'm having a problem with regards to the photo gallery displaying way too many photos and only want to display photos I have stored on the phone and the Instant Upload folder that google plus generates. What do I have to do to make this happen?
I've gone into picasa web galleries and deleted a ton of old ones which aren't relevant anymore, but no matter what I try my gallery app is a mess of photos from posts on google plus with no recognizable folder structure or organization at all.
Should I just give up and use gallery only for local photos and then the google plus app for viewing the instant upload folder?
Is there a third party app that will do what I want?
I really can't help you with the stock gallery app as it blows IMO.
QuickPic from the market will let you display or hide anything you wish.
I love quickpic but it's local files only isn't it?
Clear media storage data

Settings/accounts & sync / click on you Gmail account(s) and uncheck the photos so it doesn't sync with your device.

Look at you! What happened to "htc one x is the best phone"? yes quickpic is local files only.

One X is a great device. So is this one.
I wish the Gallery app on the Nexus 7 showed the photo description or caption or whatever Picasa calls them. No point in adding them if they don't surface on the photo. Yeah you can dig into the menu and see them but that's not good enough.
Going to look for better app but it has to pull images off Picasa web/Google plus. Suggestions welcome.

As far as I can tell justpics can only pull pics off picasa that have been uploaded via picasa. My pics going to Google plus do not show up unless in same account.
I too am looking for a good solution to house my pics someplace and have a good view to see them an the ability to upload them easily from phone. Seems the best thing so far is paying 2.99 a month for a high capacity photobucket account. Free would be ideal

I recently backed up my contacts through the Samsung online service as well as the sd card option. But the problem I am facing is that when I restore them the contact pictures tend to degrade in quality exponentially ! Is there any way to back it up without losing the quality?
NOte : Rooting is my last resort and my device is the International Note 2

Is there any app that saves them offline with the original picture quality?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
it has to do if they are favorites(starred in android) or not!
all the favorite contacts have high quality pics and all that arent "starred in android" have small pictures
a small walkthrough i have found is to have internet connected, sync on and the contacts that you want to edit you press the star at each contact one by one
and you wait for about 3-4 seconds and then you press again the star so to be removed from favorites contacts
plz try and let me know!
If synced through Gmail, open the contact on your phone and wait a few seconds, it'll sync the picture to the one stored (high res).
People is there and offline app that backs up contact with the HQ photos?
