Make Internal Storage Default - Micromax Canvas A1

I have a Canvas A1 4GB (sprout4).
The SD card slot on my phone is dead and service center people told me that it would take about a month to fix it.
Since i don't really have much data on external sd, i'm thinking whether we can make internal storage as default (I've about 1.5GB free).
I have no problem rooting or installing a custom ROM.
Also if you guys do recommend to flash a ROM like CM, do tell me the bugs that are present.
Hope you can help me.

[Q] Memory card problems

Hey hope somebody can solve this problem
I bought a new 7 GB SD card for my Wildfire not so long ago and saved most of my apps from the phone accross to it. All was fine for a while until my phone alerted me saying that it was low on storage space. On checking the memory card I noticed that I still had well over 6 GB of free space. All the apps that I checked are saved onto the SD card and some don't give an option to be moved to SD card. This is also stopping me from downloading new apps and also all the apps I have wont update as it says there is no space, even though there is plenty.
My wildfire is NOT rooted and has the original HTC installed Android OS (Froyo 2.2.1)
I am planning on rooting the phone and putting on a custom ROM in the future but in the meantime I was wondering if there was a solution to this problem.
All help is appreciated.
Thanks, Wooster
When your deivce say that you are low on storage than it means that you don't have enough internal memory space left!
You cannot move many apps to your sd card because your device is not rooted.
I would recommend you rooting your device to solve that problem because then you can create custom mtd partitions and installing a2sd script (both can be found in development thread).
Thanks for the reply. I will just root the phone then today. Thanks for the help

most of app won't read SDCard

Hi...
This is my first post here.
I have a problem with my SD Card.
My SDCard: 32GB microSDHC, some application like music player and gallery sometimes can't read file on my ext sd card (but my file manager can do it flawlessly)
Furthermore, sometimes it shows PREPARING SD CARD on top of the screen, although I don't even do anything. I tried to re-mount it again. But the problem still sometime occurs.
This problem started happening when I changed my stock rom to Ressurection Remix, I thought this problem occurred because of the ROM. so I change it to AOSP. But still... the problem still existed. So then, I changed it back to my stock ROM (with restore option in CWM)
But yeah... Nothing happen.
Any idea?
P.S.: Sorry for my bad english.
extSdCard/sdcard 1 issues
I have a Note II N1907 (ATT) running Liquid Smooth with a SanDisk microSD ultra 32gb. I have been trying to figure this issue out since I bought this phone 2 months ago. I screwed up the original card that I transferred from my old phone some how by trying different things to make the phone recognize it. It worked fine in my HTC Vivid. I have root and am able to use root options to try to access this card of installation, but the best I have been able to do is use it for storage. And I have to manually move things to the card, because most apps do not acknowledge that it is there (can't see it). TWRP recovery can see it after I did my first ROM Flash, but I have to use internal memory for my first ROM Flash, because recovery mode was unable to mount extSdCard.
Is there a kernel I can flash to remedy this. I am no developer, but I think the problem is that the internal memory is also SD in type. I have noticed that internal memory shows up as SDcard0 (zero) and the after market sd card is sdcard1. Maybe the phone automatically defaults to the first sdcard and ignores the other (because it is only designed to have one sd card).
I am sure others have hard this problem with this phone. Thank you for any help you can offer..

As soon as I saw your reply I scanned for the words "Sandisk Ultra" and then I knew this was your issue.
I had a lot of SD card corruption with this brand and searching a lot on the web I found many stories of people having the same issues as I did.
My 32Gb Sandisk Ultra was the cause of many of my problems. 2 months on with a Lexar 32Gb, no problems (touch wood)

Unable to move apps on SD Card after 6.0 update

Hello,
After upgrade and factory reset and micro-SD format, I am unable to move apps on the SD Card of my LG G4 H815.
I know that some can't be moved, but some can, and I am unable to move some games that before I was able to move, because I don't get that option. I also tried with a different micro-SD, although the card worked just fine before the upgrade.
I just don't get that options - I don't even get the option to format the external SD as phone memory, as I know it should do.
I wanted to post screenshots but I can't, because I'm a new member, so I'll try to explain:
- I go to Settings - Apps - choose a game - storage - there are only 2 options, clear data and clear cache
-I go to Storage - SD Card - settings - (here I have only Eject and Format, and if I choose Format, the only option I have is format as portable storage)
Did anyone faced a similar problem? I digged around bout couldn't find anything like this.
Thank you
I have the same problem, wen i upgrade to 6.0 i have some games with the option to choose were the data goes, less than 5.0 but i can move few.
I hard reset to stop batery drain and now i cant move any data from apps to SD card.
Same problem here! Even link2sd doesn't works...
Did you format your sd card as portable/external? How did you format your partitions and what formats when you tried link2sd?
Just tried it link2sd works for me using Fat32 on first partition and second one ext2. It had to reboot once but I guess it has something to do with my systemless root as it simply dissappeared and I had to reroot again.
The only option is portable in the format on the phone. I was under the impression under marshmallow you would be able to format either to portable or internal.
Just checked move 2 sd isnt showing up in options my guess it has something to do with the new internal/external feature, did not test with link2sd only linking tested and that works for me. I guess that you can only format as external is caused by stock rom. After all I have read internal seems not to be a good choice for mobiles with enough internal storage
Link2sd was formatted as ext4 that worked on lolly, but the big problem is I formatted as external (only choice) and the "move to sd" button does'nt appear at all! Maybe I should format all the sd as ext4? In a nutshell the 20B is using my sd as an otg storage, can read and write, but not considered by games and so (luckily the camera srill save pics and vids on sd).as far as I can see there is only thi thread and we are the only one thata have this problem!
I search about it and seems, LG dont implement 6.0 feature to use SD as internal memory if SD card have the minimal speed requirements
Try ext2 on second partition then it will work. I only have the problem that it wont mount at reboot, I always have to wait after complete boot and some time more until it recognizes second partition and mounts it. Perhaps an issue with systemless root (supersu 2.65beta) I am using but as long as no system apps are linked there is no problem with this (and I dont reboot often)
Ext4 on link2sd used to work, but in 6.0 (20b) it looks like I deleted a lot of "trash" so I was able to reatore all the app without link2sd and I would like not to use it, just to move app to mi samsung64gb sd to save other internal space for the future.I know it doesn't move the complete app, but one day maybe you will need even just 5mb...never say never....and one day you may need even just 5mb of internal memory...never say never... anyhow it store lictures in my sd, so I'm really afraid is about a limit of the rom or the memory card (I miss the format as internal memory too, while someone has that option on G4, am I wrong?) I have the classic silver 64gb samsung micro sd not the ultrafast version I used to make 4k vids on my old S5!
I personally bought link2sd as the old move 2 sd didnt work well with my samsung galaxy tab s, most apps crashed but using link2sd they worked (not all but most of them). As for SD card I have a sandisk ultra 128GB and no problem recording 4k to it, I use the mod with the highest bitrate from the forums here

I was talnkig about my SD not to say if I can record or not 4k (we are off topic here), but just to say that is NOT the ultrafast that samsung requires for recording 4k video without modding.
I just mean that now I have a "Samsung MB-MP64D/EU Micro SD XC EVO, UHS-1, CLASS 10 orange/wite" not the "Samsung MB-MG64D/EU micro SDXC Pro 64Go Class 10 UHS-I silver".
The latter was required by samsung to record 4k video=superfaster compared to the hal priced one I have. So, MAYBE, the SD does the difference in Marshmallow, it detects the kid of SD and allow us to use it as internal memory and/or to move the apps on the sd without the Link2SD app (for the record, I used ext4 withou problem with lollypop, now Link2SD doesn't find the partition, I won't waste time trying other ext till my phone will be full).

Format SD as Internal?

when i format my SD card to be used as internal storage and i place a ROM on the SDcard to install / update the Rom im on i cant locate the zip at all. Is because its formated as internal and also when i connect to my computer only the sdcard shows not the internal memory any ideas
Let me just give you an other warning, when using Custom ROMs you should not use internal storage, because the moment you decide to switch ROMs and you either choose to or have to wipe /data, strangely it will wipe and corrupt an SD card,, its weird because wiping /data doesn't touch the real internal storage but if your SD is set as internal storage it wipes it.
I learned that the hard way, I switched to a custom ROM on my HTC 10, I was using SD Card as Internal for the first time on this device in Stock Rooted ROM, the very second I wiped /data to do a clean flash, TWRP said "can't mound sd card".
The card was wiped in a weird format so it was corrupted, a 64GB Sandisk Ultra became a 16GB card that wouldn't properly mount even in windows, yes for real! even formatting in Windows 10 wouldn't fix it, I had to use a special tool from sandisk's website to repair the card.
After all of this I searched XDA to confirm this is a real issue, it wasn't just weird bad luck, so if I were you I would be careful or just switch back to SD External Mode.
The final conclusion is this feature is very nice for the regular world with OTA's but it seems in the Root world it can be a disaster, which I'm sure why you could be having issues as well.
EDIT: I forgot to mention, the last part you mentioned is normal, internal storage will no longer be accessible in Windows or even Android for you, apps can still install there though, and in the App Manager you have the choice where you want a particular app installed.

No problem, I will tell you my set up if it helps you, I use SD as External, all my Music, Photos, Videos, Game ROMs(SNES, N64, etc), TWRP backups, any ROMs or flash stuff is all on the SD.
My internal storage is usually never touched by me file transfer wise, all apps and other caches and such are stored there by force but I still have a good amount of space because of the SD help still.
And I have a bit of apps, including all the big file sized GTA games, Real Racing 3, etc.
Good luck on what you decide is best for you!
hey there. How should I format my SD card? Ext2/3/4? size? What's the best choice? Got a 128gb card
Thx for reply

Help with Custom Rom for LG G4 Beat (H735)

Hi Everybody,
My LG G4 BEAT is now a little bit slow.... i have already did what i can do on the current Rom (cleaning, removing apps, clearing cache) - and nothing seems to improve to situation.
i have on it 32 GB micro SDcard, and i save on it everything that can be saved instead on the memory phone, but it is not enough, i have always the same message "not enough space...." when i try to download new Apps or when i'm trying to make Updates.
i figured maybe i'll install a new Rom, and the most important thing is that it will make the phone work faster.
can you recommend me on suitable ROM ? is the first time that i try to do that, so i need some good explanations.
thanks! =)
no bootloader unlock = no recovery = no custom rom
In my experience, custom roms are nearly always faster than stock. And they don't slow down as much as the stock rom. Perosnally I like vanilla android roms with a few tweaks. I find they are the most stable and least prone to slowdown over time. I've used Cyanogenmod in the past and loved it, but there isn't a stable release for the G4. I recommend looking into AOSP-based roms in the Android Development section of this forum. Or you could just do a factory reset, which will make your phone faster. It will still slow down over time, however.
I don't think installing a custom rom will really help your problem with not having enough space. However, installing a rom clears your data partition (this means all apps and the saved data with those apps will be removed. Your personal data like pictures and music will be left untouched.) And that means you'll have plenty of free space!
Have you thought about mounting your SD card as an internal partition instead of a media SD card? This allows the system to use the sd card as if it were an internal sd card, meaning you can install apps to it and stuff. But you will only be able to use your SD card for that phone.

No it isn't, it's just hidden.
You can partition your SD Card through ADB.
On reddit (Enable adoptable storage on your LG G4 (stock, no root needed)) there is a nice tutorial for the LG G4, but it works exactly the same way for the G4s.
But read the comments, there you get usefull hints, like only use a part of the external SD as adoptable storage.
Since I use this I have more than enough space with my G4s and it's even faster, if your SD Card is fast enough.
If you need any further details don't hesitate to contact me.
if i install twrp no-troot h735 then flash magisk to phone it will be rooted?
Custom Rom ? (LG G4 Beat)
Nope, as long as I saw....and it won't be
