Hi I'm Andy
I just got my phone a month ago, all ready unlocked bootloader, rooted, flashed doomlords doomkernel v22.
On this post I will help navigate you how to root your Xperia arc s for newbies, okay lets go.
I found this website http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.PHP?t=1294564 this will direct you to unlock your bootloader from Sony Ericsson, follow the instructions. Another website to checkout Is www.android-advice.com
You don't need the SDK tools from developer.android.com
You need laptop or computer, internet connection, USB cable for your arc s.
Keep the xda-developers window open as you will need it for more instructions, i will add these soon, files you need to download: fastboot_with_Android_USB_file_zhw325.rar, NOTE YOU NEED TO USE GOOGLE TRANSLATE FOR VEIWING THIS WEBSITE http://115.com/file/dn020jv4, RootXperia_zhw325.zip http://115.com/file/e6vwvj79, this is the recoveryarc.img, you get this here http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=743894&d=1318108733, i accidentally bricked my phone once it was routed deleting bloatware, I recommend not deleting any Sony Ericsson files, if you brick your phone it can be fixed, you can get your stock os back, removing bloatware, just get the correct bloatware file list for removing them.
Okay congratulations you should now be rooted
Note to overclock CPU you will need doomkernel v22, I will instruct on this on a other thread, Thanks, hope you get it, software I use, updated superuser, titanium backup, root explorer, quadrant for testing CPU, graphics, etc and set cpu
Please hit the thanks box on bottom of post if you think it was helpful, have a nive day.
Hello I'm new to the rooting community and I am just curious on the current best method of rooting an android device I attempted using unlockroot program but didn't really understand what it actually did I just saw it had installed "superuser" then shortly after when I attempted to install a rom via the boot menu thing (Sorry for the terrible terminology bear with me)
Basically when I spam the lower volume button that screen that looks similar to windows CMD prompt
Anyways moving along I successfully "fixed" what I did and flashed the stock rom for the att xperia play version 2.3.3
TL DR Please give me a link and your personal opinion on the best method to root the xperia play for ATT and the best roms for the r800at xperia also what roms are my phone compatible with? I don't recall of the types of roms but it is really much appreciated any form of comments regarding the subject its all information that will help me towards my goal to root my phone and have the most efficient phone
Thanks!
Superoneclick is probably def the best. Just search the forums or google it. If you want to install a rom just install cwm which you can find on the market by searching xperia cwm auto installer

Hi, when trying to root my Sony Xperia U it doesn't work, I tried both options 3 and 4 but no luck, when it asks to unlock the phone and click on restore or something, I unlock my phone but there's nothing there.
Any suggestions? Thanks
LG AS730
I have researched as much as i could on here for this model and basically find nothing useful. There is a post that shows a method to root but i could not get that process to work.just wanted to give my input. I used root genius and it rooted mutt phone just fine. Now if i could get lg to tell new how to unlock the boatloader i would be in business. I saw the email that one developer got from lg about oem unlock. This does not work on this model. It just reboots normally. Any help on how to unlock my boatloader would be appreciated.
Rooting Xperia Z
Sorry to ask this, but does your root work with an Xperia Z c6606 10.4.C.0.814 running android 4.3. The phone is from T-Mobile if that makes a difference. It is not unlocked. I'm brand new to rooting, but my warranty of one year just ended, so I wanted to try rooting. Also, does the root delete any data, like pictures? Sorry to bother you with this question I'm very unexperienced.
Just rooted an Xperia ZL C6506 to Android 4.3 using Bin4ry's v.36 root kit!
I have my 2nd unlocked Xperia ZL C6506 phone (after the 1st one fried)! I upgraded the OS via OTA to Android 4.4.2 and then 4.4.4. The phone kept connecting to Baidu servers on a constant basis but only when on LTE in California. I would then delete the Baidu folder created (sometimes every 3 minutes!) The phone kept connecting to Baidu servers and the Baidu subdirectory kept getting created on the internal SD, the phone kept rebooting every 3-5 minutes and it kept overheating.
I finally got fed up and rooted my phone yesterday, using Bin4ry's v.36 rooting toolkit. I'm on Android 4.3 now. I originally tried the firmware 10.4.B.0.569 which performed better in terms of battery life and phone temperature, as well as the Enterprise Service not starting (in Security | Device administrators). I got greedy and flashed the 10.4.1.B.0.101 firmware (still Android 4.3) since it's newer. I noticed the Enterprise Service getting selected after rebooting, although I turn it off (uncheck it.)
Regardless, this rooting method saved me lots of grief and worked great. By the way, I tried all the options of the application, and the one that worked was option "0) New Z2 Root Method by cubeandcube (thanks man!)" [I think the developer's ID is actually "cubeundcube"]
Thanks Bin4ry for an awesome application!

[Q] Trouble with Bin4ry's Root [Please answer] [Kindle Fire 2]
About 4 days ago I had a perfectly working Kindle Fire (2nd Gen). But the all the apps I wanted all required root! I had a little look into rooting my Kindle Fire, and I stumbled across a YouTube video that led me to Bin4ry's topic. The video directed me to use the "Normal" option (Option 3 I believe??) so I went for it. An Interface came up on my Kindle came up telling me to backup my Kindle (So I did) and then another one came up telling me to restore it. The computer interface told me that restoring would do nothing, so I did. Then it rebooted my Kindle, and when it first loaded up, the first noticeable thing was that when it came to the LockScreen, the was no picture. "No Worries" I thought, and went to unlock my Kindle. Second observation. It was soooooooooooooo laggy, and e v e r y t h i n g m o v e d l i k e t h i s. Literally. I tapped a button, and it took thirty seconds for the button to tap. Then another minute to actually load somethinng. At this stage, I panicked. I had no idea what to do. I'm not sure if this is normal or anything. I also ran a check, AND I'M STILL NOT ROOTED!!! The good things are that
1: It's not bricked.
2: The Computer recognizes it as a USB device .
3: The Computer recognizes it as an ADB device.
4: I can navigate to the "Restore" button if I have to.
I would highly appreciate it if someone could please direct me how to fix this problem (Preferably without restoring). It would also be great if anyone could direct me to a valid Kindle Fire 2 rooting article. If you have got any questions about operating system, ect, just ask me.
Cheers
New Z2 Root Method might work...
Did you try Option 0 - New Z2 Root Method? It worked for my Xperia ZL, when none of the other methods worked.

you just need to full-rooting your device, no need to ubl
rooting with towelroot is half-root, you need to fix it with remountrebootfix
search around for tutorial
I already have full-rooted my phone, install remountrebootfix, like in tutorial. I tried this 3x, but it didn't work. I get boot-loop every time. Still don't know what's the cause of this problem.
I found 3 scripts that you have to do to remove it.
1 remove /system/etc/init.d/*link2sd*
2 remove /system/etc/install-recovery.sh and if exists rename install-recovery.sh.ori in its place.
3 remove /system/xbin/debuggerd and rename debuggerd.bin in its place.
After that you can also remove link2sd log files from /data and delete directory /data/sdext2.

hey, i have been looking and trying for whole few days, and all apps and programs failed to root my phone. I have tried Kingo root, vRoot, and like 10 of them more. Please help, i would be very thankful to you.
Thanks.
up
Hey since no one replied to your post I will. Had hard time finding this too.
First I wanted to check if this is a valid method and it looks like it is. But you're doing it at your own risk.
Also some basic knowledge about flashtool and flashing is needed here.
1. Check if you have XPERIA Z1 Compact D5503 14.4.A.0.157 Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
2. If yes download these two files from this site ( http://techglen.com/2015/02/14/how-...3-14-4-a-0-157-android-4-4-4-kitkat-firmware/ )
- D550X_14.4.A.0.108_KernelOnly.ftf
- D550X_14.4.A.0.157_KernelOnly.ftf
3. Make backup ( just for sure. it should not delete anything as this is just a kernel but who knows. )
4. Flash D550X_14.4.A.0.108_KernelOnly.ftf
5. If everything went fine, turn on your device and click this root button in flashtool. Follow the instructions from pc / phone screen.
6. Flash D550X_14.4.A.0.157_KernelOnly.ftf back.
If everything went fine you should be rooted now with up to date kernel. Download root checker to be sure.
Hope it will work as it worked for me. BUT if something goes wrong I DO NOT take the responsibility for this.
Fingers crossed!
