Add widgets to lock screen?? - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I want to add 3rd party widgets to the LG G4 lock screen....but I cant find the setting to enable widgets there.
On the Lg G3, there was an option in the 'lock screen/customize' tab to enable 3rd party widgets...but I cant see that option on the G4.
Have LG removed the function to add 3rd party lock screen widgets?...for the life of me I cant find out how to enable them...
anyone know where the option is?

This was disabled in Android L

[Q] change lockscreen wallpaper automatically

Hi,
is it possible to change the wallpaper of the lockscreen automatically or is there an app which can do this?
nope and nope. i would like this feature too, but nope. even if there was an app, it would still require you to launch it as there is no third party multitasking, so i don't see it possible at this stage.

Slow animations

Hey guys,
i'm getting this weird bug, when pulling down the quick access or the notification panel by sliding down on alternate launchers (like nova launcher), it just shows really really slowly.
Like if my animations speed were set to 4X in developper options, unless it's not.
Only getting this when sliding from anywhere on the screen with gestures function of the launchers, not from the top of the screen like you would do.
Cheers
Known issue in nova on 6.0. Hopefully apps will get updated soon to support this. I live by gestures!
It's only with the gesture that the status bar does that and it's only on alternate launchers (as u said) like nova is where I've seen it as well. If I set a swipe down gesture to show notifications, and I swipe down in the middle of the screen, that will happen.
Doesn't seem like it would be a 6.0 bug

it s not android bug
it s compatibility of launcher
launcher need to get access from accessibility section in setting + some system permissions (i think)
it s not straight forward function to open notification/status bar with codes since android 5
that might cause this issue

lock screen question.

I have an lg g3 and i really want to try to use a custom lock screen. without rooting. however as we all know the tap to lock function ceases to work if you change the lock screen. any suggestions? im sure this is already covered but i was wondering if there was a lock screen out there that has gestures so like with nova launcher. you can just enable a lock the screen or turn off the screen app.
I am aware of this. Could you rephrase your statement? as it does not really answer my question. I'm not using the stock launcher. I'm using nova launcher. I know that you can use a non stock launcher and still tap the screen but for the lock screen you have to tap the notification bar if you want to use a non-stock lockscreen. What I want to do see if there is a way around it

Smart Bulletin

Hey all, I have a bit of a conundrum. Today I was digging through some hidden activities with activity manager, and I noticed that several functions from the g4 and g5 are found in the settings activities (for example, the smart cover, notification LEDs, and a few others). Activating most of them provide no effect, as I'm assuming they were disabled from use. However, looking in the LG home 4.0, I saw an activity called smart bulletin. And for those who don't know, it's the equivalent of the Google now page for LG apps. However, I cannot access any of the features, but it does appear on the home screen. Is there a method for enabling the use of this( perhaps through all sideloading or other means)? Also, as far as some of these hidden features go, is there any way to activate those? I have the k425 on 7.0 nougat.

Download Nova launcher and add an activities widget, when the screen to select activity appears, expand the selections for homescreen and long press on smart bulletin, when it's launched, activate it and then you can close Nova launcher. You don't have to select Nova as default homescreen though.

I didn't have to use nice to activate it; as a I mentioned earlier, I use activity launcher instead. It's activated, and it appears, but there's no options for it. It's as though LG simply removed the apps to make the feature work, and didn't fully remove this feature

Removing Google Search Bar on Home Screen

Okay so I'm having trouble figuring out how to remove the google search bar on the home screen. I though long pressing it would give the options to remove (Old Nova Launcher Habit) but nothing and I cannot find any settings where this is an option.
Am I missing something or is this permanent and I cannot remove it ?
It cant be removed on stock launcher.
you can remove it by installing third party launcher.
Boneheaded decision on not allowing it's removal. Those who are saying hell no to using Google search are not going to use it because a widget can't be removed, they're just going to change launchers.
