Recently I have noticed the rear facing camera doesn't focus. I am not sure if it is hardware or software related. I have had the phone for a while and the camera has always been great. Not sure what happened to the rear facing camera though. Anyone have any ideas?

I have a similar issue, mine focuses, but the flash sometimes doesn't go off. When auto focusing the flash will light up the scene then when I release the soft button to take the pic, the flash doesn't fire. I'm on CM10.1 (latest nightly), but issue has been evident for a few months I'd say.

You try enabling HDR in the camera options?
How do I enable HDR? I am currently on the stock ROM.

I think its a 4.2.2 only feature and your ROM must have it built in and your gapps must not overwrite it with its own camera app.

My phone is rooted and am using CM 7.2. I wanted to know why is the camera quality so poor? It was great before I rooted but now it's just awful.
Is there any way I can improve it?

AOSP roms aren't known for their camera quality. You could either install a stock rooted rom, or get used to lower camera quality.
Or use any alternatives from the play store. ICS camera, camerazoom fx, etc do a good job. Also remember someone posting the miui camera few days back. Look for it. It worked fine too.

HELP!!!
I have been using a lot of 3rd party camera apps and I noticed that after flashing Android Revolution HD with JB 4.2.2 all of them don't support 8mp resolution anymore. And as I searched this issue some users who updated their One X with the official OTA from HTC, are experiencing the same issue.
Any fix?
Thanks!

Yea you are correct i have the same issue , and even in AnTuTu benchmark it says that camera is 6MP instead of 8MP . That is weird
I wonder, if this the cause my camera app exiting without error msg...
