Just posted another thread about this issue, didn't see yours and am now realizing the problem may be the wifi connection. Web pages certainly seem to load faster over 4G, which is odd considering my wifi is faster if I check the connection speed. I noticed too that it took forever to find a server for the wifi test but not the4G test, even tho the ping time was significantly less for the wifi. Odd.

Yes same issue with me... My wifi is stupid fast and things take forever to load

I am having the same issue my home wifi is fast but with my g4 its slow. I have had my S5 side by side loading a picture heavy site and the g4 took 8 seconds longer. My data is way faster now. I really am not sure how to improve this or if its a faulty phone.

Also have very slow WiFi speeds on mine.
At home right in front of my router My LGG4 is sluggish and very slow where other phone are super fast to download. WiFi produce speeds of 105 and t shows with my other phones. I think there something very wrong with many LGG4 devices becuse I see I'm not the only one experience this issues. What can I do to fix these or should I get a replacement device. Please I need advice as I just can handle this. Is not the WiFi is how my device handles the connection to my home WiFi.

WiFi will not connect to internet w/Opera

I cannot get the WiFi to work on my ATT Tilt 2.
Any ideas? I can see connect to the wireless net point, but no connection to the internet.
Kind Regards,
Jim
I'm having the same issue on stock AT&T Rom..
I think I just found a workaround though.. Try starting Opera without wifi on, get it connected, then turn on wifi, go back into Opera and see if that works for you.. I'd love a better fix if there's any other workarounds.. For all my searching, I can't find it..

i've got the SAME problem as you guys. (Owning an TP2 device with WM 6.5)... the Wifi connects to my Router But I cant get any data from it when im using Opera OR Skyfire.. even though I got a full signal.
PS. I did however notice some weird stuff from the Ip-adress - witch were not correct given that my router is sharing NAT adress with "192.168.0.XX" and not 192.168.1.XX -Witch were given in my Htc device..
And according to my D-link Router, My htc device gets No IP whatso ever.. But it can be detected.
Any solution ??

See.. I thought I already tried that.. Just applied it again, and still no go.. Hmm..
Edit- nope.. still not working even after a reset.. I just hard reset this thing (stock AT&T) 2 days ago.. skyfire and pie are working fine with the wifi..
My above method is still the only way it's working..
Yup same problem here, I came across this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=621466&highlight=wifi+problems
and I guess if you update your Opera to a newer version it will correct this problem, but it seems to be alot of info there. Has anyone tried this?

T-Mobile's $15 tethering option??

Engadget had an article that states Tmobile will now charge for tethering starting sunday Nov. 14th. I am wondering if us who have been able to root the G2 get charged for using the tethering option? If so i can always use wireless tether but the built in android hotspot is much better in my opinion. If anyone knows the answer that'll be great as i dont want to get charged without knowing.
No. From what I've been able to gather, there's no way for T-Mobile (or anyone else) to tell the difference if you're tethering or just using standard(phone) mobile data.
Well something I just noticed today was a redirect to an upsell page. This is using the G2 with PDAnet, I have had no luck getting the native tethering to work. I will keep trying and see if I run into that same issue. I'll also post a pic of the page that it'll take you to.

here's the lovely site you'll get trying to get you to buy the subscription to tether. I have also noticed that G1 and MT3G1.2 and they're still able to tether just fine.
Well I just tethered without getting that message so I guess us rooters got around their trap!! Niiiice

tmo probably made and agreement to not remove pda net from the market if they made it to where tmo could check if the user is tethtering with pdanet
Actually, I am rooted and I was using PDANet, followed by Wifi Tether and I got the page both times.
this sounds like either they are filtering for user agent(easy to bypass), but then again i could be wrong. i used to use pdanet, and even paid for it(didn't like wifi tether on G1 because battery temp would get too high) and now if i can't use that app i'm going to be very upset. try changing your user agent to "Android" and see if you can tether
they will only notice if you pass the 3gb - 5gb limit, refrain from downloading while using tether.

Losing connectivity (3g data) randomly

My HTC One X keeps having issues and I'm looking forward to future updates that will hopefully fix them.
I am losing 3g/2g data connectivity every now and then. When it happens I have tried pinging 8.8.8.8 (google dns) and get a "host unreachable... 9".
Airplane mode or toggling data doesn't help. I need to restart the phone to get back 3g data.
I am On O2. I frequently use the widget 2g3g onOff to toggle 2g/3g
Is there any way to troubleshoot the connectivity to try and find out the root cause?
cheers
Others had this issue. If you have an unbranded phone. Try the 1.29.401.12 ruu this included a new radio which might fix your problem.

It's a branded and unrooted HTC One X so a different ROM isn't an option at the moment.
Would be interested in further troubleshooting like traceroute, ifconfig (is not present on android?) and etc

I know you've probably already got over this or perhaps even switched to a new device, but I found an application that really helps with that problem.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dazbradbury.restartConnections&hl=en
I face this problem at least four or five times every single day but I am afraid to go to HTC about this since my phone is rooted and with a custom ROM on it and I cannot actually revert to Ice Cream Sandwich because I updated my HBOOT to 1.31 and I cannot revert to 1.28 since I have a S-ON device.
I have tried several custom ROMs and the one with least network/signal problems was the stock ICS ROM, whereas custom ones seem to have a lot more bugs and issues with them, but I guess that's expected. Battery life is much better on stock ROMs, though, and overall performance. I am hoping Jelly Bean will be released for my HTC_J15, though.
My connectivity issue was resolved with the last update from HTC.
thank for taking the time posting the info. If I ever get networking problems again then I'll check out the app.
Oh you're most welcome, mate. Your thread appeared as I was Googling the problem and trying to find a permanent solution for it.
I've also heard that the Radio version could be a factor in the network strength.
These are two screen shots of my network info:

I don't really understand the whole dB thing because I am not into networking. lol
What pisses me off is that the device drops data connection while I am in the same spot and haven't moved. When I am outside and drops it, I keep convincing myself that perhaps this spot has no signal or something, but then again other people are using their devices just fine, and I used my BlackBerry in those same spots just fine a month and a half ago!

Does this battery life look normal?

I think something is draining my battery, but I haven't downloaded anything thay could be draining it? Also my GPS iconnis stuck to on, even after rebooting and doong a battery pull...

Found the problem. Had an app that had air push, removed it and the GPS icon went away, which is what I think was killing the battery...
I found the battery to drain hugely with wifi set to be on at all times, I've set mine to switch wifi off when locked and I'm at 63% and over 8 hrs up time
Wifi has never been an issue for me.. I'm on wifi 99% of the time...
GPS, Auto Sync, and Bluetooth are huge killers for me. If you don't use them too often I recommend leaving them off. Also staying on HSPA+ instead of LTE when your phone is idle is better as well.
nope definately not normal. try maybe disabling some radios, like bluetooth and gps when not in use, and try disabling some notifications like gmail, facebook...unless u want them. they seem to be big battery drainers. or its prolly just a bug..try restarting

I could be wrong but I think the only switching data modes is by temporarily removing he SIM, dialling the code to put the phone in service mode, selecting the data mode you want, but then won't take effect until you reboot...
If that's the case, I would say no because of having to remove the SIM...
As stated in post 2, I found the problem.

Question Poco F3 Overheating

I have had my device for 8 months without issues. Just 5 days ago it started overheating out of nowhere. Temperature can rise from 31 to 47°C between just a minute when I'm on a call. This comes with a huge battery drain during these spikes. Similar thing happens when I'm downloading or doing any network intensive activity. I used to get 7-8hrs SOT now I can barely get 3hrs.
When I switch to Wifi I don't experience this temperature spike and battery drain when I'm downloading stuff.
The heat is at topmost part, around the camera areas.
I have full LTE connectivity
Any help?
I'm on stock and I don't have any apps apart those downloaded from the playstore.
That means you can't help in any way.
Thanks
Never heard of this before. Try setting network mode to lte only. Go to dialpad and enter *#*#4636#*#*. Select phone information 1. Then under "set preferred network type" select lte only. Hope this solves it.
You can also change the sim to slot 2 and see if the issue persists.

I've done exactly that but still. The attached image shows the power draw when making a call.
I think it's a problem with the modem although I'm not sure. WiFi connection however is totally different, it doesn't spike up temps and battery drainage.
I have the exactly same problem.
What do you think might be the problem?
i have same issue
U have few options
1.root ur phone to a different os other than miui.
2.buy a phone fan cooler.
3.buy and expensive phone like Samsung s22ultra or the likes that have no overheating complains .
4. Wait for 5 years because a specific company is making ssd cooling technology and will implement that in phones in the near future . Then buy these phones.
Frustrated android user indeed .
Thanks for your suggestions
i found out that gallery is making these battery dragining and overheating problems.
SOLUTION: FORCE STOP gallery if your are non rooted user like me and use google photos instead.
BTW: they didnt fixed it with miui 14
I got my F3 ten months, and never experienced this issue.
I would suggest trying the following steps.
1: Go to Developer options.
2: Scroll down to Apps heading
3: Check background Process Limit. By default Standard will be selected.
4: Change it to either Atmost 1 Process at a time OR 2 process at a time.
I cant guarantee that the steps above will solve your problem but it fixed mine.
Try it and let us know if that helped.
