Hi all,
is it possible to readjust the electronic level on the LG G4 when using the camera app? I tried calibrating the sensor in the setting menu display>more>motion sensor calibration but its off by a 1 - 2 mm..
or
how do i contact LG to give us an option to let us re calibrate it?
Cheers!
i think you might have to go into the service menu for that. Don't know the code.
What are you measuring it against ? do you have a level.

Hello,
i have a problem with my proximity sensor... it simply doesn't work with CM 7 (neither the RCs nor the final 7.0.0), on HTC stock it worked properly (switched display off when i took the phone to my face while calling someone).
When i install Sensor List it shows constantly the Value 9 not regarding if i touch the sensor or hold the phone to my face.
I did a lot of research... but nothing helps.
Many people say that i should change the ro.lge.proximity.delay in build.prop.
But i dont have this value in build.prop. Tried adding it with recommended value 200 but no change.
Also tried the Proximity calibrator from this forum and Sensor Doctor from Marked. Both Apps crash (i think because it doesn't find the ro.lge.proximity.delay value in build.prop).
Also have the always force proximity sensor option in CM setting set.
What can i try? Someone else this issue?
And why isn't there a ro.lge.proximity.delay option in /system/build.prop?
Thanks a lot
to finish this post: i found out that it's a hardware issue, my proximity sensor seems to be defect
and now your warranty is void! xD
time to unroot?
Will unroot if other Hardware defects should appear...
Only this defect is to small to give My Vision away for some weeks
Same her my proximity sensor seems to be defect but i think it's maby dust on it.
Hey guys,
hope someone can help me.
I've the feeling that my light sensor might be damaged.
The setting is on automatic light regulation and i've the feeling that the
screen is very dark. Is there any possiblity to check if the light sensor still works fine?
I've already put my finger for a few seconds on it and nothing changes.
I also read in the guide that the screen should wake up when you wipe over the switched off device.
Unfortunately nothing happens when i do so.
Thanks a lot for your support

Autobrightness has been too dark since the S2. The S3 also suffers from that bug as does the Note 2. Unless Samsung fixes it with a update you`ll have to wait for a hack and root the phone to be able to change it.

Thanks a lot for this information. I didn't know this, as it's my first Samsung mobile.
But my impression is that it worked fine, and unfortunately the note 2 fell down at weekend and
now i've the feeling that the regulation is not correct since then. Is there any test to try if the light sensor still works?
And normally the switched off screen should wake up when i swipe over the screen, right? Because it doesn't work, or is it necessary to set up some settings?
Thanks a lot again for the help!

I think there's a light sensor test in the service menu (can't remember the dialer code to access it though) and for the phone to wake when you swipe over the screen you need to enable "Quick Glance" in Settings > Motion

Hi there everyone,
I've been a long time reader but first time poster hehe
I just got a slightly used Note 3 (build N900TUVUBMI7) and upon checking that everything was working properly I noticed some issues with the sensors, so I checked by dialing *#0*# and this is what I got on the Sensor tab: (you can see it in the attached picture) All the values are at ZERO!
I know chances are I just got broken hardware, but if that's not the case, are there are software solutions I could try to restore Sensor functionality?
Thanks.

Did you put your hand over the sensor to see if the value change?
I just checked one out, that had the same problem. In that case, the previous owner had replaced the screen and damaged the front camera with the sensors. Camera is very easy to replace and cheap. But he'd also broken off two contacts on the motherboard, which must have had a role in the sensor control. Got the camera working again, but not the sensors. If you can't return the phone, it might be worth buying a replacement front camera with sensors, but maybe open it up first, and see if anything is loose or disconnected.

So it seems the y axis is off a few degrees. Which is noticeable when play games like Bike Race where you tilt the bike. While holding in landscape the phone shows level if you tilt to the right a tad. Anyway, is there a way i can calibrate the accelerometer. I see some apps that have calibration tools but that only fixes it within that app. I just got the phone and i am within my 14 days to return, if returning would be a simpler option.
Try *#0*# in dialer and hit sensor hub test that and sensor, sensor lists everything individually
Ok that's what I did to find the issue. I think you hit sensor button. Sensor hub test just runs some test and comes back with passed, but no options. Under sensor you can see the accelerometer data and that it's off but no way to calibrate.
So I took my phone back to at&t to get an exchange because of the accelerometer. While waiting i tested the display model and guess what. Same issue. So I asked if i could get a replacement he said yes. When i explained the problem he said he hasnt heard of that before. Then tried the same thing i did with the display model. So if anyone would perform this test on theirs for me i would be appreciative. Just go to Test menu (*#0*# in dialer) and hit sensor and see if your Y axis is correct. Mine shows -3 when on the level surface.
X=0,y=0, 90 degree angel, with and without case on
Didn't there used to be a calibration setting in device settings to get the accelerometer back on its appropriate axis?

Way back on the note 2
Yep I wonder why they removed such a basic function. Anyone else with their stats before I exchange tomorrow? It's the 14th day.

So I had it swapped out today. Same results. So the only thing i can think off is its something wrong with the batch there. So i will have to see if i can get a different one from somewhere else. I will call At&t Monday. Hopefully they wont be too difficult to deal with on this issue. On the plus side the new one isnt quite as off.
Mine
is anybody here can fix the gyro problem ?
please can anybody explain, is this software problem or hardware problem ?
thank you, please really need your help guys
Try this after starting a video keep your phone for 5-10 seconds on a flat surface that should work if not make it 20 seconds as that worked for me.
Temporary fix.
3D compass is working, Discovery VR app is working.
But Google map compass and other 360 video are continuously rotating. I guess it's a software bug by Lenovo

yes of course my friend, cos the problem is not in the compass but in the gyro. i still have no idea, is it software or hardware. still, no one around here give some light.
It's a Hardware problem.
For fix just to go to service center and tell them to change the mother board, they won't listen at first request them or pressurize them which ever suits you. I got my phone's mother board changed, now no gyroscope problem or compass problem either also phone doesn't heats up now.

Thank you my dear friend. i went to service center yesterday and yes it is a hardware problem. i got a new motherboard with new IMEI. but i still don't understand why a lot of people got a broken gyro devices. didn't they do a phone test before packing to the box.?

Indeed they do but I doubt they check every single phone and every single sensor of that phone. maybe the batch which we got in India have these problems. Firstly this is the weirdest phone by Moto and there is one more minute problem you might want to know that there is no auto hdr but in official specs it does . This phone from Moto actually sucks.
