[Q] Little help needed for building tethered TWRP - ZenFone 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I am about to build a TWRP for our ZenFone2's. It manages to get started by the CWM tethered method by social-design-concepts, but problem is, that the graphics don't fix themselves as in @vampirefo 's CWM.
As this is my first time with an Intel device, I don't exactly know what to enter into my BoardConfig.mk to get the TWRP displayed properly...
I attached a picture so you can see what the problem is...is there any lib to include or just a line in BoardConfig.mk (also attached)? Maybe someone more familiar with intel based devices will know...
Cheers

Try here. https://github.com/TeamWin/android_device_asus_fugu/commit/6a99324c21ba451c7cae23ce75585a4a8d7dba39
Sent from my Optimus G using XDA Premium HD app

Hi,
I already copied some stuff from there, now the phone halts at the TWRP welcome screen while still having the weird graphics
Still, many thanks for pointing me to the fugu git, it should be really similar to our device normally...

Good news! The display errors were quickly fixed after insmodding tngdisp.ko...
Now the recovery doesn't find any mount point
As soon as the recovery works I will open a thread in the dev section

Hi,
well, the same principle/restrictions apply as with the CWM:
1. needs to be triggered via PC
2. doesn't write itself permanently on any partition (which makes testing really nice )
Hopefully we will have working backups/restores with the recovery, as I have it configured to handle Selinux, too..
Tomorrow I will continue the troubleshooting regarding the partitions (need to convert the fstab from version 2 to v1, no big deal but I am tired now).
Cheers!

[Development][Port] CyanogenMod 7/Oxygen for the Galaxy W

***this thread is made strictly for development purposes so that any developer can join up and help the development of a working port of this for the Galaxy Wonder***
Okay at this point in time I'm trying to make an hard port (the easy way) of CM7 by trying to make a generic build of CM7, then bundling it with Arco68's kernel and afterwards fix the libs and whatnot.
I've already managed to compile the generic build and am now playing around to create a working .ZIP file.
Update 1 : ZIP install fine, but no boot, at least for now. Time to play a little
Update 2: Hm, weird. I was convinced this was gonna work. I'm most likely missing some Samsung patches and **** that generic builds don't have. Going back to the drawing board.
Update 3: While I go into theories about how I should go about CM7, I'm also downloading the sources for Oxygen, because I prefer it over CM7. That way I can study both.
Right on bring it on !

Since hard porting was getting me nowhere, I decided to try the hard way and I'm currently making a vendor and device config manually. I'm basing it on YardE's awesome work on the Galaxy S Plus front. At least it saves me some work, but there is still a whole lot to do.

Good luck with that considering we have zero basis to work on and building a ROM from source. If you achieve the miracle of building a 'vendor' folder that actually compiles, tell me. That tutorial assumes you have a vendor config that works for your device.
Anyways good luck. I'm still trying to make a working vendor folder.

You might be able to find those files at Arco's Github.

The above link does contain a file called " setup-makefiles.sh"

i got two question is it possible
first is it possible to connect 2 pendrive via hub
like in galaxy s 2
second usb ethernet
example smc2206usb/eth any thing like that ? not 65mbps via wifi but 100mbps by cable!(that for refrence http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1582250 but is that only for Honeycomb)
wish list that for kernel

THANKS
P.S in NTFS compatibilty will good and mass storage not media transfer protocol
Would love Overclocking!
Would like IT to have a home screen more in hope the gouverneurs wil be added toen ofcourse the option to flash custom roms with revovery and all the sweetness youre put in youre other kernels.... And don't forget a stable custom rom with ics

he's not talking about the trasparent bar, he´s talking about notification led ( as far as i know the possible colours are red, orange, green, blue and white purple)
and it's a great idea, because the led becomes green at 90% battery charging, if only become green at 100% will be perfect

So now the real mods begin?
I'd like some tun/tap modules included in kernel (easier than loading them + init.d script)
Some overclocking is good, but modifying cpu voltage can be good for battery life too.
I hope the DooMKernel include:
NTFS support
Overclocking
More CPU Governors

Aosp carbon unofficial .423 4.2.2 port In TESTING PHASE (LB)

I need testers for this now. its now in testing. pls post any errors and will try and help as best I can by talking to other devs
Heres the link to download: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2360069
Thanks to team carbon for original rom to port from.
THIS IS IN TESTING PHASE ONLY. DO NOT USE UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO TEST AND REPORT ANY ERRORS.
If I helped in anyway hit thanks
Do not comment if your bootloader is unlocked seeing as how this will work no matter what with an unlocked bootloader. The whole point of this is to get aosp running on LOCKED BOOTLOADER.
Also for those who can UNLOCK or already have UNLOCKED bootloaders. Please keep your boot loader LOCKED or RELOCK your bootloader for testing this out only please.
So far we are stuck at carbon logo boot loop. Lets all work together to get this working
got it put together but so far stuck with boot loop any help? followed this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1908008

dont u need custom kernel to run aosp ?

Not nessarily. I had an old Droid 3 with CM9/10/10.1 all running on the stock Gingerbread kernel (2.x.x.x). The problem is that alot of things will be broken, and everything will need a workaround (ie. Camera running through HW tiler instead of using kernel; crappy cam). You could always try and do a diff of what's different between 4.2 and 4.3, but alot can easily change. And you don't necessarily know if a certain feature is built on a kernel feature that isn't in 4.2's kernel. I wish there was a way for us to flash a kernel via Flashtool using custom FTFs, by unlocking the bootloader à la Xperia Play Testpoint method.
ok gonna just do a 4.2 port then instead. make things easier anyone know how to change the name of the thread since im op?
Edit your op post and then click advanced option you'll see the thread name on top

Download to phone update-supersu zip file.
Unlock bootloader and boot (not flash! - only boot from pc) twrp for clark.
Screen will be upsidedown, but touch layer work properly - in good direction.
Now fun - with upsidedown screen and properly touch layer you must hit 'install' button in twrp,
and navigate to update-supersu zip file.
After that, simply install this file, disconnect phone from pc and reboot.
Done - you have rooted phone.

It's just like the original Droid Turbo forum. By necessity, it was the all-in-one QUARK forum, until many months later the Moto Turbo/Moto Maxx got their own forum.
Right now, this is the all-in-one KINZIE forum until it gets separated, and Moto X Force users get their own section.
Right now, with the original Droid Turbo bootloader being unlocked, suddenly all the Droid Turbo users are asking about QUARK TWRP and ROMs..
So, watch and learn. You'll be using this root and TWRP also some day. Hopefully.

I'm testing Turbo 2 (Force is not available in USA) so someone else with Force should contact TWRP developer for Moto X. The best candidate is @damkol.
I'm still thinking should I buy Force or not. Turbo 2 (basically the same device) works really nice, battery life is good, has sdcard, like design (not one speaker but two holes) but Snapdragon 810 makes device really hot quickly for average tasks. For example in just 5 min of recording full HD (not 2k).
Anyway, I like how things are going so far. In just few weeks, thanks [email protected], Force get unlocked bl and root. Without any active developer yet. Hopefully some dev will get device soon and then fun can begin
I send message to twrp team with many details few days ago. Still no response.
@damkol:
Could you maybe point out how exactly you unlocked the bootloader of your MXF? As of now, i tried unlocking it via the official unlocking page and it said, my moto x force is not eligible for unlocking.
At least for now, i figured.

[TOOL/UTILITY]ANY-KERNEL Flasher For Zenfone 2 Laser[Noob Friendly]

Hi All, This is my new Project for
ZENFONE 2 LASER
=//Flash all kernels with ease\\==
What is this?
This is a easy to use Noob-Friendly utility for flashing kernels with ease. Many newbies do not understand fastboot
or TWRP because of no previous experience with these before. This project provides them with a very easy method of doing so.
The only thing involved here is simple copy/paste and renaming files.
What do I need before I start ?
1.)Any kernel image file(.img)
2.)TWRP/Cyanogenmod Recovery
WOW, sounds nice !! Tell me how do I use this project of yours ? :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
Okay Okay Have some patience !
The instructions are as follows =>
1.)Grab any kernel designed for your device model. It would be a image(.img) file.
2.)Rename that file to boot.img
3.)Download the zip file from attachments and open it with any compression manager on PC or Phone
4.)Put the boot.img inside zip file.(Most probably you won't need to extract the zip for doing this.
4.)Put the modified zip in your phone.
6.)Reboot to TWRP , and flash the zip file
Easy enough huh !

See the attchments.
Also the Thanks button is just to the right of the place where you will find the attachments Do press it hehehe.
